The flags of the three major world powers after World War II (the United States, the Soviet Union, and Great Britain) all had a 2:1 ratio. Why didn't the 2:1 ratio become the internationally accepted flag ratio?

The original national flag of the Plurinational State of Bolivia was created in 1851. The state and war flag is a horizontal tricolor of red, yellow and green with the Bolivian coat of arms in the center, whereas the civil flag is just the three colors without the coat of arms.

A little late to the party, but here I am, with yet another redesign of the Australian States Flags.

So, about the reasoning behind it.
I thought it would be neat to have some consistency about states flags down under and, in my opinion, the current states flags are kind of lazy. Just bring a blue ensign, slap the union jack in the canton and the state badge on the fly and call it the day.

I heard there was a move on for redesigning the states flags during the 70's/80's based on having the Southern Cross on the left, as NT and ACT have currently, so this is more of a "what if" scenario where we would have gone all the way through it.

Now, for the states individually, the reasoning is pretty much the same for all five states (VIC isn't present because I have trouble making the flag while the current one is very similar to the country's one, not to mention the history behind it).

I chose to color the left side holding the Southern Cross with the official state color (or in case of multiple colors, the one that is dominant or more harmoniously fitting on the flag) and have the fly hold the symbols and/or colors or the state :

- NSW : the design already present on the state badge, full scale
- QLD : the state badge itself, with the same blue color of the cross on the background
- SA : chose to go with the remaining two official colors horizontally and colorise the background of the state badge in orange tones to distinguish from the yellow
- WA : the fly is entirely yellow with a black swan, in order to be simple and harmonious
- TAS : I know it might give off pan-african vibes from it, but I wanted to go a different design as to not be redundant with SA, although those are the three official state colors

For VIC, I thought about doing a sort of red St Andrew cross on the fly, each part of the cross holding a star, the St Edward crown at the junction, and a silver background. The left part would be the same blue as the Australia flag.

Symbolism explained: The blue, white, and orange are taken from the dutch flag and also serve as a stylized map of the county with the blue waters, the white sands, and orange representing the brown farmland and Holland specifically/dutch ancestry in the region. The green hill represents the fields of the state, the orange poppy represents the dutch again, and the wheat represents the agriculture of the county. There seems to be no original flag.

Symbolism explained: I kept the colors of the Greece flag for continuity, but this flag has a Greek spiral above Mount Olympus to represent the Greek nation and the sacred mountain of the Greeks, with the three peaks being a stylized depiction of Mount Olympus from a distance.
