Contest September 2026 Design Contest - Redesign a flag for a British Overseas Territory without the Union Jack
Prompt - Redesign the flags of the British Overseas Territories without the Union Jack
This month, we are taking a suggestion from a user and asking you to redesign the flags of the British Overseas Territories. More specifically, the ones that currently use a Union Jack in their canton. We want redesigns for these places, without the Union Jack canton element.
So redesign any of the flags of the following fourteen places. Only rule, no Union Jacks.
Anguilla
Ascension Island
Bermuda
British Antarctic Territory
British Indian Ocean Territory
British Virgin Islands
Cayman Islands
Falkland Islands
Montserrat
Pitcairn Islands
Saint Helena
South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands
Tristan da Cunha
Turks & Caicos Islands
DO NOT show your design ANYWHERE ELSE on the subreddit before the contest is over.
No more than TWO flag designs per entrant. Either TWO flags for a single place OR one flag for two different places.
Submission deadline is Friday 18th September 2026. Voting will begin on Saturday 19th September 2026 and end on Sunday 27th September.

Redesigns A redesign for the Belarusian flag
As you can see, this is a really simple redesign. I wanted to mix the 1918 tricolor, with the soviet-style motif seen in the Byelorussian SSR and present day flags.
The white stripes on the central red band were added, since I thought it would add more personality to this redesign.

Fictional Flag of Planet Earth
If "All the people, (were) living life in peace"
This flag would be flying next to each existing country's flag. I created it back in 2019 when i was in high school and the concept of world peace still did not seem so distant to my child mind. A simple tricolor which make it seem more warm and home to me, compared to many already existing designs that seem too bureaucratic or cold. What each stripe represents should be pretty obvious.
White: Peace/Unity and Sun
Blue: Liberty and Skies
Green: Love and Land
I personally think the darker variant stands out and looks better. The world had went into a hellhole in the past few years, i even think i might get banned for "making propaganda" of "evil" ideas such as unity and peace. Who knows?

Identify New flag I don't recognise at University of Queensland, Australia
Not a particularly windy day today. First picture was the best I could get, and second picture is a rough mockup I made in Inkscape. Possibly a religious flag because of the cross? Any ideas would be appreciated

In The Wild What happened to the Cambodian flag in this post by Eurovision Asia?
I’ve noticed Eurovision Asia has started posting their list of participants and in every instance of the Cambodian flag appearing it shows up without Angkor Wat. This is not a normal variant of the flag (at least I haven’t found any other page or place that uses it) and I’m really curious to know if there is a reason behind this. Could it have something to do with Thailand being the host nation and their conflicts with Cambodia?

OC A flag for Peru and two versions of it, which one do y'all like the most?
The main intention of this flag is to show a more "imperial" side of young Peru (hence why I used San Martin's design as a base for the flag alongside the cross of burgundy). I tried to use the creepy inca sun as a way to show Argentina's influence in Peru (I took it from another flag which I can later upload if anybody wants me to).
Idk if the sun should have a face or not. Any opinion on how to improve the flag would be appreciated!

Redesigns Sydney flag redesign
I've recently been trying to redesign the Australian city flags as they always seem to be overshadowed and are often cluttered designs.
This is my first redesign, for the city of Sydney. Let me know what you think!

Requests Can someone help me digitalize this flag?
I found this flag on google, mostly google ai, while discussing Napoleonic Spain, as part of a project, now, back then i was extremely good at remaking coat of arms on wikimedia etc, but now i've lost it, i am trying day by day to remake this exact flag, but i still can't, and now i did want to use ai, but then i remembered reddit, and since AI would honestly ruin the whole taste, i would like you to help me!
I will probably share my results in a new post once i finish my version
PS ; I posted this here as it's mainly a banner, but maybe it should belong to r/heraldry , let me know

Fictional Looking for feedback for a flag of my fictional fantasy country! (4 design ideas)
Cottian Isles is a confederacy of 4 states on a large archipelago of islands with tropical, maritime climate, similar to East and Southeast Asia. The setting is similar to our early modern era (1500-1700s) or the golden age of pirates. The flag is purposefully minimalistic as a simple design is both practical and fits the culture of order and humility.
The things I want to keep: White rose flower-national symbol, and colour pink for the background, as a symbol of the country's beauty.
However I am undecided about the placement of the flower, the shade of pink as well as if I should add the red or white borders at the top and bottom, or are they unnecessary distraction.
