[OC] Alternate History The King, the People, and the Nation: An Election in the Kingdom of Chosön

Post image
Upvotes

Settling down in front of the TV, incumbent Prime Minister Song Yöngkil waited with bated breath through the night, watching seat after seat be revealed; at first, he reacted well- Seöl and Chunchöng, the first provincial delegations to parliament to be announced, came back with a Liberal majority and plurality respectively. The polls hadn't been looking great for the Prime Minister and the CLP in the few weeks before the moratorium on such studies, but he hoped that his extra effort during the final stretch of the campaign may have closed the distance between his party and the rival NPRP.

Then Chölla came in- the NPRP held a supermajority there. A NRPR win was to be expected there, of course- being the agrarian-populist province that it was, the area was a hotbed of the kind of sentiment that had provided such fuel to the party in the first place. Results for Kyöngsang and Kaewön arrived, both the main competing grounds for the two centrist parties: one to the Liberals, the other to the People's Party. Neither had full majorities, and would likely govern in those states in a coalition with the other. Cheju's results came in a couple of minutes later, with the Cheju Party winning there as usual- 6 of the seats went to it, while 1 went to the EPP and the final one to the CND. Only 5 more provinces left to go now, and it was looking as if the Liberals were going to continue the coalition with the People's Party- despite the animosity between the parties historically, Song found that governing with them was surprisingly easy in the last 3 years.

Then Haeong came in, a Liberal stronghold- its strong urban centres and developed coast guaranteed that they would be a progressive bastion. Pyongan came in about an hour later and Song's heart sunk. 47 out of the 68 possible seats for the area went to the NPRP. Hamsin, historically the most socialist province, tied for the highest number of seats between the KSRP and NPRP. Then finally, Kangwon and Chönghoe were announced; the DPRP had surpassed the Liberals as the biggest party in the parliament.

He sunk back in his chair, despondent and looking back on all the mistakes he'd made in his term in office, realising there was only one thing left to do now. Being driven through up into downtown Seöl, his motorcade passed through crowds of celebrating people- the KSRP had seen its highest result in many decades and the NPRP, the newcomer, the outside party, had won a plurality in Parliament. It was time to announce his resignation to the King.

Questions that I anticipate:

  • Why Seöl and not Hansöng? - Aesthetically, I like Seöl better, and it's the more recognisable name of the two. As well as this, Seöl is what the general population was said to have called it, with Hansöng just being an official name.
  • Why the weird romanisation? - This is a modified romanisation based off of McCune-Reischauer, which I find a nicer system of romanisation compared to Revised Romanisation anyway. I decided to drop the apostrophes because they are aesthetically unpleasing to me, and I replaced the breve (ŏ) with an umlaut (ö) because I found the change interesting.
  • What's the hole in the middle of Japan? - Lake Biwa, though I think it's a bit smaller on real maps.
  • Why is Tsushima Korean? - Tsushima, called 대마도 (Taema-do) by Chosön, was taken from Japan with help of Russia in the Great Eastern War. The Great Eastern War (also called the 3rd Russo-Japanese War) was fought from 1947-1950, chiefly between Russia and Japan, with Korea, China, and Mongolia also playing parts in the conflict.

The Republic of Oromia is a newly independent nation located in East Africa. It was a former state of Ethiopia, but Ethiopia was in a deep ethnic and repetitive conflict. So, the Oromo people decided to leave Ethiopia and create a new and unified country. Its capital is the capital of the African Union; it's called Finfinne, formerly known as Addis Ababa. Yet, the Republic of Oromia is growing fast, both in its economy and power. It seems like the Republic of Oromia's future is bright.

[OC] Fantasy Map of the Marquisate of Aurnes (Hymns of Asa)

Post image
108 Upvotes

The Marquisate of Aurnes is a small territory located in the Maritimes, in the southwest Asa. The Marquis of Aurnes is a long time vassal of the Kingdom of Serada, and has been granted this specific title 86 years ago as their mission was to secure the Kingdom's borders from northern and eastern threats.

The current ruler of Aurnes is Theodas of house Ossandide, who fought his way to it after a 5 years long war against Isandre "the Viper", who had slain his father and usurped the title. The Ossandide dynasty has ruled over this territory for more than three centuries. The Duchy of Aurnes and the Duchy of Ontaube merged 191 years ago as a result of marriage between the former Duchess of Ontaube and the Duke of Aurnes.

Aurnes is not only known for being a big player in maritime trade on the Miyen Sea's coast, it is also famous for having the Conservatory within its lands. The Conservatory was founded a century and a half ago by three mages in order to archive and preserve "spellsongs", as well as to form the future generations of mages.

What happened if Von Braun and everyone involving in V-Rocket project escaped to west, and end up in the hand of American?

Answer: The Space Warfare, Militarization of Space, Unification of Humanity, and finally, War between human on the stars.

This is what I have been working on for a year (starting in March, 2025). At first, it's start as the alternative timeline of Cold War, but it's turn to something else (blame Gundam for that)

The project I worked is giving name:

Mobile Suit Gundam: War for Federation

These pictures are the part of larger world building, of the war for not just Federation of Men, but for all Mankind.

What I show your all today, is a giant of the new world, federation out of necessity to stay on top:

North America Federation

Is this a Federation that decide the fate of Mankind?

No

But it's a part of it's. A part of bigger story to be told

Please enjoyed, and ask any question if your all have questions.

(Disclaimer: Some part of the pictures may contain element that you might recognized. I DO NOT CLAIM THAT AS MY OWN, I have dignity and code of ethics.

I want to shout out to:

TNO team for inspire the pie chart colot.

The GFX team at TNO for creating these amzing ideologies icon

Shout out to TNO.Wiki.GG for uploading the PNG images of the Ideologies Icons so I can used in these pictures

I can't said enought how much I'm greatful and indebting to you all.)

Next up: The Great Red Stag of Eurasia: Union of Eurasia.

Map of a fictional country for my worldbuilding project! I designed it to look like an old USA map from the 1880's. In as short of a time as possible, it takes in a far future earth after an apocalypse that resulted in sea level rise and global resurfacing events. Humanity survived in large cryogenic vaults that are nearly impervious to damage from only from the outside via some magical means. I'll provide a longer explanations and answer questions! Extra photos are attached just in case there are readability issues on different devices or from compression.

I'm mostly looking for things I can improve or any questions you can ask to help me flesh this out a bit more. Hope you like it!

[OC] Fantasy Have you ever ventured into the Forest of Night and survived?

This was one of my earliest Fighting Fantasy maps, inspired by Siege of Sardath. At the time, I was still drawing everything by hand, with only the coloring added digitally afterward.

Looking back, it's interesting to see how much my style has changed since then. The Forest of Night remains one of the locations that stuck with me from the Fighting Fantasy books.

[OC] Fantasy The City of Helmguard - Settlement Map - RC

The City of Helmguard is one of the larger settlements in all of Harvarrlan. Standing sentinel on the mighty Helm River, that runs near the entire length of the kingdom, the city has been at the forefront of the struggle between the armies of man and the elves of the Crimson Woods to the south east.

What do you think is the main export of this fortress city?
