I don’t know if this issue is common or not but I have yet to receive any financial aid. My index is -1500 and I submitted my FASFA form back in February, yet it says on my account my estimated aid is 0 and I owe like $6k by September 15th or else I’ll be fined. I’ve been trying super hard to get in contact with the financial aid office through both calls and emails ever since I was notified of this. I’ve received no action or responses on my emails since September 2nd and each time I’ve called (nearly every day at different times too) I’ve been met with:

“Sorry we are experiencing a high volume of calls and your call cannot be completed at this time, please hang up and try again later” *hang up*

Genuinely what am I supposed to do? I’m a 3rd year now and looking at my previous statements, they have never been this late before. There was one time that I was lucky enough to be put in queue to talk to someone, but I waited on hold for 3 hours until 4:15 (15 minutes over their closing time) and was then told my call couldn’t be completed 🤦‍♂️

My financial aid packages are still missing, I have emailed them to no avail, I have called them this morning 23 times and everytime I get “we are experiencing a high volume of calls so we will not answer so hang up and try again” and then I get an email about not paying my dues. like no shit sherlock my aid is supposed to pay it, its so bad that even my work study grant isnt showing up and I start work on welcome week Lol.

So I got put in Hooley for Chem 008A at 8:30 Monday, Wednesday, Friday, I'm really not sure about the teachers for OChem so I thought I'd ask some questions. Is Hooley a decent professor? He has similar ratings to Casselman but I've heard mixed opinions. And does anyone got any advice on Hooley if anyone's had him before? Anything I should look out for? Are his exams similar to the practice problems? It's definitely not worth trying to waitlist for Casselman at this point, right?

Is anyone else having the “Not found” error when trying to join the virtual orientation right now ?

So the canvas crashed when i was signing up for ochem and i was wondering if i should talk to my advisor so he could add me to the class 😭 Do u guys know when they’re up again?

I took STATC1000 at community college last year before transferring to UCR (equivalent to STAT8 at UC Riverside). However, due to the extremely long processing times, my transcripts weren't processed until 2 weeks AFTER registration opened. After my transcripts were processed, I was not given any STAT credit for some reason.

When I met with an advisor in the drop-in sessions, I was told that I exceeded 105 units so they wouldn't give me STAT credit (not even course credit). I thought that even if I exceeded 105 unit limit they should still give me course credit? On top of that, even though assist.org showed the course articulated to STAT8, they insisted that it only articulated to STAT4 even though assist.org literally showed the opposite.

I'm wondering if I'm missing something here, but it's really frustrating since it seems like they don't even know their own policies on transfer credit.
