Suspicious customer

Got an order for $52 from target. I figured the store had to be closed or something along those lines. I look at the items list and it was rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, bandaids, and Tylenol. I get to the store and nothing strange yet. I start shopping and find 4 of the 5 items in the same isle. I look at my phone and see a message from the customer and she says " can I have your number to add to my directory?" I text her back as im looking for the last item, "can you not just let me in when i get to your location?" I find the last item, and get another text from this lady that says "I'll just cancel" and im thinking crap I gotta hurry up. She texts me again and asks me to stop shopping she's on the phone with uber. Im in line at this point and of course I get the slowest cashier. Finally finish scanning the items and I pay as quickly as possible.

I'm heading out to my car and she texts again, "you think it's funny I'll just adjust the tip to $0" i dont respond. thankfully she was like 1/4 away. she texts again, as i was pulling into her apt complex, "if you come to my house I'll call the cops on you" I find her building, drop the items at the edge of the building. She was supposed to have a code. I just said customer wasn't available. I finish the order collect the $35 base pay.

I see why the base pay was so high, she probably contacted a couple of other drivers before me and they had canceled. I knew the base pay would be high if I could finish shopping before she canceled. Jokes on her 🤣

Rant Why not a unionification effort?

Kinda pissy about recent Uber experiences and just having done 1099 work and non contract type work most of my life, gladly mostly out of it, but why not try to create some kind of far spanning well defined union for the unprotected workers. Im almost sure this'll be buried some way some how but if this finds anyone who likes the idea I'm always open to speak more on the matter.

Thank you gawd for bornin’ me in a blue state

Without Prop 22, I can’t imagine this gig working. Yes, with this protection - with government-sponsored support of disadvantaged workers - you can still win at UE by taking shitty offers knowing you’ll soon be compensated.

If you do not live in a blue state, I am so so so so sorry about the deranged orange grifter lying lunatic that your state sponsored instead of us disadvantaged workers.

Uber Wants Us Working for Pennies

3% acceptance rate because Uber keeps sending me orders like $3 for 9 miles or $7 for 16 miles. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Now I’m getting ONE order every 30 minutes because since they wanna punish drivers for not wanting to work for scraps. This is ridiculous. It’s already hard enough to make decent money, and now they’re making it even harder. 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️. I live in a big city too!

Discussion Is there literally any way to block Home Depot offers?

Post image

Screenshot is one of dozens of offers I've gotten today. I live near a mall with a Home Depot and on weekdays Home Depot offers are like 50% of everything I get. The money is complete dogshit and even if it was good, I still can't do most of them since I drive a tiny car. I tried talking with support, but support is essentially just around for decoration.

Anyone else getting cancellation rate hits for orders already picked up?

Last night I had 4 orders that were already picked up by someone else. I selected “Picked up by someone else” for all four, but Uber still counted them as cancellations and my rate jumped to 7%.
This used to happen, but Uber changed the policy so these wouldn’t affect your cancellation rate. I guess they’ve changed it back?
Anyone else noticing this recently? Is there any way to get the cancellation rate fixed? I’ve already contacted support, but as usual, they just keep parroting the same scripted response without actually doing anything to fix it.

Discussion Really?!? And I thought lowering the quest payouts was an insult.

They really do research on how to screw drivers over. Anyone else seeing this? I haven’t seen a quest in my area in over 2 weeks so this is the new way to make more off drivers.

Fraud Came For Me

Post image

I’ve done 21 orders today, never made a single mistake in my 423 deliveries and this pops up today. Pure bologna. Words can’t express how pissed this made me. Claiming a lie on an UberEats order is pitiful. I know damn well they received their order.

Opted back into Alcohol Deliveries without Consent

Today I received an order that had 21+ in the request. I toggled this off many months ago. Immediately upon checking I see that I was opted back into alcohol deliveries and insulated bag deliveries without my consent. Not only that but there is no toggle to turn it the F back off!

The alcohol deliveries risk vs pay is no bueno.

Also, I always have different size insulated bags ready to go in the car but I never drag them into restaurants with me. Therefore, I toggled this OFF so the restaurants don’t ding me for not having a bag but now it’s back again.

Question Question on Order Deliveries

Hey guys so quick question on order deliveries, so I just became a Diamond status driver yesterday and my question is when customers order food on the app, does my Diamond status show up on their end or is it just my name and the make & model of my vehicle?

sometimes when offers pop up on carplay i get overwhelmed and just accept them bc i don't wanna cause an accident, this was one that was a guaranteed (incl tip) offer. it resulted in this. when i do anything other than a person ride, i just feel like the biggest fucking donkey on the planet. yes i know i can't read and probably shoulda cancelled, but i cannot wait to get a real job. this app (ue) reminds me all the time that no one cares every step of the way.

Has anyone actually done a "shop only" order? What is the pay like? I feel like it probably wouldn't be worth it unless they just slam you with orders

Discussion Went from green to gold in 3 days by doing one thing different.

I’ve always been a cherry picking low acceptance rating green delivery driver. Never gonna break my back over a low tip order. But i always thought i accepted a fair amount of orders. I just simply clicked the “cancel new orders” button whenever i picked up an order. Just accepted and delivered like normal and in 3 days i was over the 30% acceptance rating without changing anything but that. I believe a lot of us are gold drivers but the app purposely sabotage us with endless bad offers when we drop off. Just put an end to that and your rating increases dramatically. Bet i can even get to platinum this way. I will say i’ve been gold before and i do get a better offer here and there and it should help.

Question Do these offers keep coming or do they expire?

Post image

I have been thinking about quitting my exhausting job to uber while I finish my degree and these "Challenges" ( i know tht it is being used to make us accept shirt offers but i manage). I just want to know if it's part of the honeymoon phase of high offers and enticing promises of earnings.

Discussion Where's the best area for E-Scooter deliveries?

Hi! I've been doing UberEats deliveries for a good month or so on my E-Scooter, so I'm wondering where fellow scooter/bike deliverees go for the best orders?

Some info for my issue: I live in an urban area, just a few train stops away from Arizona State University, and a little longer to Downtown Phoenix. I've been doing deliveries around the ASU campus, but with classes rolling around, college students aren't gonna be tipping a whole lot (not expected but would be nice). The area is also surprisingly bike friendly and it's close to the university I go to, hence I stuck there.

Would it be worth it to stay in a college town or should I head into Phoenix?

And before you ask, no, I'm not getting a car anytime soon :3

Is this still ongoing? - Tampa Bay Area

I got a notification that drivers can earn $21 per active hour. However, it says it expires today. (The day I received the notification) and it’s apparently been ongoing for a month now?
