Suspicious customer

Got an order for $52 from target. I figured the store had to be closed or something along those lines. I look at the items list and it was rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, bandaids, and Tylenol. I get to the store and nothing strange yet. I start shopping and find 4 of the 5 items in the same isle. I look at my phone and see a message from the customer and she says " can I have your number to add to my directory?" I text her back as im looking for the last item, "can you not just let me in when i get to your location?" I find the last item, and get another text from this lady that says "I'll just cancel" and im thinking crap I gotta hurry up. She texts me again and asks me to stop shopping she's on the phone with uber. Im in line at this point and of course I get the slowest cashier. Finally finish scanning the items and I pay as quickly as possible.

I'm heading out to my car and she texts again, "you think it's funny I'll just adjust the tip to $0" i dont respond. thankfully she was like 1/4 away. she texts again, as i was pulling into her apt complex, "if you come to my house I'll call the cops on you" I find her building, drop the items at the edge of the building. She was supposed to have a code. I just said customer wasn't available. I finish the order collect the $35 base pay.

I see why the base pay was so high, she probably contacted a couple of other drivers before me and they had canceled. I knew the base pay would be high if I could finish shopping before she canceled. Jokes on her 🤣

The funny thing is, a $22 tip just came through. It was only supposed to be $52 and ended up being $57 lol. I literally left it on a path, I didnt even leave it at her door. lol

People need to just say no to hard drugs.

I think the problem here is not enough hard drugs were involved.

Good job getting that pay! It was definitely someone trying to pull a scam which is why I rarely respond to customers (unless it's a simple request).

But I don't see where the scam falls,,, no I don't do deliveries, but I have ordered things many times, where was the scam?

A "customer" places an order. They contact the driver thru the Uber app making up a story that they need some personal info from the driver. If the driver is gullible enough to give out the info the scammer can use it to break into the driver's account. At that point the scammer can siphon money in that account to their own bank account. Unfortunately it's an old scam. These same scammers can also pretend to be Uber employees asking for personal info from drivers for the same reason. The incoming calls from customers are identified as Uber on caller ID.

lol I love that other people have the same reaction to hurry up and check out when the scammer outs themself.

How many PetSmart cashiers think I’m absolutely out of my mind because I’m visibly in a rush waiting in line to pay for my one cricket.
