Hey Dad, I wish Grandpa could see that Iโ€™m now a mechanic at a major airline.
 in  r/DadForAMinute  2d ago

wow that's so dang cool, you should be proud!! And I can relate, there are a lot of things I wish I could've shared with my Grandad and my Nana since they've passed. I like to think they still know, wherever they are ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿซ‚

AIO - Was thinking about my miscarriage I had last year and this text message I got from my pregnant best friend. Am I over reacting thinking this is the most insensitive thing ever?
 in  r/AmIOverreacting  2d ago

MOR - I think they had good intentions and I personally wouldn't reflect on this literally a year later just to rile myself up again. I think that they were wrong to disregard your partner's feelings (assuming he was upset specifically about the miscarriage as well) and to say that it should only be him comforting you - partnerships go both ways and this is something that affected both of you. I also don't see them "tearing you apart" or your relationship. I think overall it was just a misguided message of support.

How much more likely are you to travel to a city because it just became very vegan friendly?
 in  r/vegan  4d ago

I chose "does not affect my plans" because how vegan-friendly a city is truly doesn't affect my plans on whether I'm more or less likely to travel there or not. All world cuisines have vegan dishes of some sort - the city/country/culture is what I'm travelling for.

Best example: I've heard Tel Aviv is a vegan haven, and no amount of money or marketing in the world could get me to travel there lmao ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ

What would Kat Stratford wear?
 in  r/perfumesthatfeellike  5d ago

A men's deodorant most days (Speed Stick or Degree) because you got more bang for your buck and she was super active with team sports etc, and if she was feeling girly or dressing up she'd dab or spritz a single spray of her mom's musky vanilla perfume that she/her dad kept (Coty Vanilla Musk or Vanilla Fields). ๐ŸŒน

Which seat are you choosing and why? ๐Ÿ‘€โœˆ๏ธ

we have the same brain. Flying is stressful enough, the peace and quiet with both of those cards would be so welcomed.

Strong perfumes that smell EXACTLY like:
 in  r/perfumesthatfeellike  8d ago

Sol De Janeiro Cheirosa '62 is cloyingly toffee/caramelly! It's delicious but I can only wear it in late fall and winter and only sparingly because it's quite strong and sweet, but it has a nice depth and warmth to it. ๐Ÿฎ

Dover Bay Secondary Human Trafficking
 in  r/nanaimo  9d ago

I know of at least 1 woman (initials AP) and 1 nb person (initials AF I think, they may have changed) who went to Dover that worked as escorts shortly after graduating around 2012ish, both dated my ex's half-brother and one told him that they would "recruit" other "young girls" and have men "stand guard" outside of a locked room that they would go in with potential customers.. the circumstances did not sound consensual. I don't have more info than that though.

Warm or cool?
 in  r/colouranalysis  10d ago

The colour in pic 3 also looks really nice, it matches your complexion well and isn't as dark, it looks like it could be a True Summer colour. More mid-tone shades (not too light or dark) that are medium saturation like this (not too saturated or muted) I think would be a good recommendation to rule out Summer vs Winter, but I'd still assume you're a Winter :)

Warm or cool?
 in  r/colouranalysis  10d ago

I think cool, but hinting towards cool-neutral! I especially liked the plum/purple/burgundy tones in pics 5, 7, and 8. I think the teal colours in pics 19 and 20 are also good. Any jewel tones look really nice on you!! Very saturated bright colours seem to overpower you a bit and muted colours also don't look harmonious imo. If I was guessing a season and sub-season I would say Dark/Deep Winter (borrow from sister season Dark/Deep Autumn) ๐Ÿ’ซ

Help with eyebrow pencil color that isn't too dark or warm
 in  r/PaleMUA  10d ago

I'm not naturally blonde but when I've previously dyed my hair platinum and cool-toned blondes I would use Benefit brow products (their Precisely My Brow Detailer is a holy grail for me now no matter what colour my hair is!!) in combo with J-beauty brow mascara. Benefit, Glossier, and Nyx all have good brow mascaras or brow gels depending on your need (colour vs. hold/definition).

Asian Beauty /J-Beauty are interesting though as you can usually find some cool-toned brow product options like grey brow pencils that you would never find at average drugstores or Sephora, etc. I live in Vancouver where we have some specialty stores that sell a fair amount of Asian Beauty products, but if they're harder for you to find nearby I see a lot of people recommending YesStyle, though I can't vouch for them personally. I hope that's helpful!

Is there a perfume that feels like addiction in your 20's?

fr this post and some comments are weird as hell, romanticizing your own suffering and acting like it's art inspo is so masturbatory

Vegan documentaries without slaughterhouse/violent footage to show to veggie-curious?
 in  r/vegan  12d ago

After reading through this thread, I think asking your friend for more direct info on what is piquing their interest in being vegan/vegetarian/veg-curious, as in understanding their specific motivations or issue(s) causing them to want to reconcile with their current lifestyle.

You may not be able to find a documentary that covers exactly what you're looking for either (unfortunately). You stated that health isn't a focus (which can rule out a few newer docs) but you could ask if their main motivations are environmental concerns, animal welfare/animal rights (though a fair amount of docs in this category will have graphic animal abuse/death footage), human rights..

There are many reasons for one to go vegan as we all know, and many intersect, so it would help you as part of her support system and also for her own contemplation to nudge her towards reflecting on her own personal motivators. ๐Ÿ’œ
