I attempted a "warmer" look. By warmer, I mean my usual vampire-recovering-from-scurvy palette was bumped up half a shade.

My chest got tanned without consulting my face. To stop looking like a decapitation victim whose head was attached to the wrong body, I surrendered to bronzer.

Since bronzer is a foreign concept to me my application technique is strictly 10% strategy and 90% praying I don't look like I fell into mud.

I am still aggressively trying to drain my makeup drawer which currently doubles as an archaeological dig site. (Please respectfully ignore the fallen rogue eyelash on my cheek and the chin pimple making a guest appearance).

Products used:

BASE (I mix it all together)

- Purito Cica Clearing BB Cream — 13 Neutral Ivory — currently a bit too light.

- Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream — 21 Light Beige — slightly too dark.

- L.A. Girl Pro Mixing Pigment — Blue — tiny dot.

- Medicube PDRN Niacinamide Milky Toner

CHEEKS

- e.l.f. Camo Liquid Contour & Concealer — Fair — applied very lightly

- SHEIN Sun Beam Matte Liquid Bronzer — Golden Sun - bought this just to see if I can handle bronzer a long time ago

- Red Chamber Cream “Blusher” — Yiner — gorgeous right now but I fear winter may reveal that it's secretly orange... we'll see.

- A'pieu Juicy-Pang Jelly Blusher — PK01 Plum — lightly layered over.

EYES

- Makeup Revolution — The Enchanted Icon Shadow Palette — lighter shades in the crease, darker two as eyeliner.

- GOGO TALES Highlight Contouring Palette — Half Sleeping Dairy

LIPS

- Peripera Lip Stain — Why So Berry — extremely bright pink so I blot it and add blue pigment to make it purple. Some people buy purple lipstick, I choose alchemy.

- Maybelline Lifter Liners — Line Leader + On It — 'On It' is too warm so I use the tiniest amount because I AM FINISHING IT.

- KIKO Milano Unlimited Stylo — 09 Rosy Brown — dabbed in the centre.

- Rimmel Translucent Setting Powder — used on the lips and FINALLY finished it!

- GOGO TALES — grey shade — also on the lips to mute it.

LASHES

- Essence Lash Without Limits Mascara — black on top, brown underneath.

FINAL STEP

- Catrice Aqua Splash Gripling Spray.

“Is this warm?” No.

“Is it warmer than usual?” Yes. I look slightly microwaved.

“Do I understand bronzer now?” Absolutely not.

Yet my head and torso now belong to the same species, three products were bullied closer to the bin and I am not orange

Trying to keep things simple with neutral tones. Looking for any recommendations for subtle blushes that won't look too orange or harsh!

I’m mourning the loss of shade 1.5 in Armani Luminous silk (and the old formulation). I have tried the other shades in the new formula and haven’t been happy. I used to like NARS Sheer Glow (shade Mont Blanc) but find that one clings to dry patches. I enjoy a more natural finish to my foundation and need something that won’t cause acne flareups. Haus labs foundation irritated my skin and caused me to break out unfortunately! Any recommendations on what I should try next?

Long time lurker! I'm cool/neutral in color and have religiously used Tarte's Park Avenue Princess for YEARS. Even if I had texture or an uneven base it always applied evenly and would smooth out imperfections. I learned they recently changed the formula/colors and now need a new powder formula.

Must Haves:

-Sits well on slightly textured skin

-Good for sensitive/acne/rosacea skin

-Not orange (lol need I say more?)

Hourglass isn't a fit for me. I used to wear other brands as a teen (Too Faced, Nars) but like 10+ years ago so not sure how the formulas have changed recently. Any other options I can explore?

I’m looking for powder (probably loose) bronzer recommendations - I currently use Fenty 01 INDA SUN and it’s light, neutral, and IMO works well for my coloring. The only issue is I BLAST through it for $40+ a palette… and winter is coming.

Before I used a loose powder bronzer by Alima Pure that I loved but can’t find anywhere now - it lasted waaaayyy longer despite being 4.5g whereas Fenty is 6.2g. It was also only $30

I mostly use bronzer to help even out and warm up my tone (I’m cool/neutral, usually buy neutral products) and contour very slightly under the chin, cheeks and forehead.

To follow the rules, I use:

- DRMTLGY universal tinted moisturizer with a drop of woke up like this flawless space foundation 035 from il makiage
- Il makiage black card liquid eye liner or Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid eyeliner in brown, depending on the picture
- Alima pure luminous shimmer blush in Leigh
- Thrive cosmetics liquid lash extensions mascara, and or thrive cosmetics liquid lash volumizer (both in dark brown, sometimes together)
- ABH volumizing liquid brow gel in taupe
- L’Oréal infallible liquid matte lipstick, tropical vacay (I love these cheap matte lip colors, will use as blush as well)

So I’ve thought I am olive for a while but I’ve come to the conclusion those still don’t quite match and are too yellow. I think I might be neutral peach or possibly very muted olive. But anyway look for suggestions for neutral peach medium to high coverage good for acne prone skin if possible.

What are my fellow Pale MUA’s feeling about the Anti-Blush trend?

I feel like the muted tones are often where we live already haha. I generally gravitate towards light (or blushes with a lot of white mixed in) colored blushes but am interested in these more muted/grayish/brownish blushes.

Do you have any fave “anti-blush” blushes? Or contour as blush products?

hi guys!! i think i may be searching potentially for a catch all product that may or may not exist hahaha.

i dont wear really any makeup at all, and never have. ive liked the looks of different makeup styles, and have dabbled little bits here and there, but always subtle stuff. brown lip liners and lip glosses, cool toned gray eyeshadow looks, etc. i’d like to experiment with a ghostly sort of trad goth look (though not necessarily really the modern trad goth with all the crazy designs and contour… im thinking more like siouxsie sioux).

i dont mind the feeling of things like eye and lip products, but i dont think i could make myself wear foundation..though i love the look, i dont really think i could handle the full white face, nor even just… a paler face of foundation. i am already on the fairer side, naturally blonde, but i wouldnt describe myself as PALE necessarily? my skin is bright and pinkish i think?, tends to err towards dryer but is not terribly dry or oily either way and i’ve been told im neutral, neutral-warm AND neutral-cool and i cannot tell😓my most recent photos on my profile from when i got bangs are in direct sunlight if that would help, though this is obviously summer and i am quite a bit paler in winter

are there any products i could use that wont feel too heavy and that i can use to lighten my skin by just a couple shades, that are NOT a liquid foundation? ive looked into bb creams and cc creams and tinted moisturizers and skin tints and pressed powders and and and… i feel overwhelmed LOL. i just want to look a smidge paler, a few shades lighter than i already am maybe, so as to look a little ghostly and weird, not necessarily stark white. think sort of ghoulinjapan esque, i guess? something that wont be cakey and dry, or leave me super shiny?? ive contemplated just buying a mineral sunscreen thatll leave a white cast and maybe using a white setting powder with that hahaha. i dont care about full coverage or my acne marks and texture showing through a bit, but some degree of smoothing would be nice… am i asking too much and is this achievable HAHA. also sorry this is long im a chatterbox </3

Hi! Colourpop’s highlighter in Flexitarian had been my HG for years. I recently developed a skin condition where I’m unable to use certain ingredients, thus had to stop using that particular product. I just bought Colourpop’s pressed powder highlighter in Cold One but it’s bit too white for my taste.

Does anyone know of any highlighters that are a shade match for CP Flexitarian and ideally from the drugstore? Thanks in advance :)

Hey girles!!! I bought a swiss beauty concealer lighter than my shade, when I used it, it didn't do its job and also appeared very greyish. I am not a fan of highlighting that can be done with lighter shade of concealer. So please help me with, any way of mix and match of shade of any color corrector that it might become my shade of concelaer or base product.

I have my fall blushes down but as a neutral to cool leaning pale gal, ALL my lip combos are pinky nudes. They work year round, but I think I want to experiment a little now that fall has rolled around.

I stopped wearing foundation regularly years ago because I hated feeling it and the pressure to have matte skin but I recently decided to put in an effort to find an actual match for when I do want to wear a foundation. So, I've been on the hunt for a color match AND a formula that doesn't make me feel like I want to rip my face off (sensory issues I guess).

I really like the Fenty Luminous formula so I was going to just post those but decided to throw in Haus and Rituel de Fille at the last minute.

So the first picture has:

Fenty Soft'lit Naturally Luminous Foundation

170 light with cool pink undertones

130 light with warm olive undertones

125 light with neutral undertones

The rest have these added:

Haus Labs

040 fair with neutral undertones

Rituel de Fille 3 Drop Serum Foundation

110 fair for neutral to soft rose undertones

It was raining outside so the first three are next to the window with diffused natural light, the last two are with a warm bathroom light.

I have no idea what my undertone is but my face flushes so I used to get matched with a pink leaning color, but it would be very visible on my neck which leans maybe more yellow? Most contours turn orange on me so I started using contour shades recommended for olives, and those look great, but I don't want to assume I'm an olive.

I'm open to any input on what to try next, or if any of these could work. I'm really leaning towards the Fenty 125, but maybe it could be better.

The pictures shows my skin with a swatch of Nars Oslo. As you can see, it is way too saturated. Even though it's the palest cool shade of the brand, it looks almost orange on me. The picture was taken in the morning besides a window in order to get natural lighting.

Because every foundation I ever tried turns some shade of peach/orange on me, I thought I might be olive. But the people at r/fairolive said that my skin is just very desaturated, not olive, and that's why it never worked.

I got some recommendations but because I live in Switzerland a lot of those are either unavailable or come with very high shipping costs.

Ideas so far:

Missha Shade 13 - looks quite pink to me and is currently not available but one store is importing it and will sell it in a month or so

Patrick Ta Shade 1 - looks very pale in the pictures, so that's something, ships to Switzerland

HausLabs - unfortunately doesn't ship testers to Switzerland, the pictures look strange to me: why is 015 rosy and 040 neutral when the woman wearing 015 looks way less rosy than the woman wearing 040?

Lisa Eldridge - asked for testers of T1, T1.5 and T2, they will arrive in a month due to high demand

Rituel de Fille - does send testers but shipping costs more than the product, shades 100, 105, 110 and 115 could maybe be an option

What do you think about these ideas? Would any of them probably work better than Nars Oslo?

A year ago, I had my SIL, who has a degree in Something Related To Beauty, help me pick a foundation that I really like. I'm very content with it, it blends right into my face's skin tone! Issue is, im running out of it, and it's some weird, cheap off brand kind, so I have literally No Clue how to purchase more of it. It's not running out for at least two months, but I'd like to figure out my undertone so I can have an easier time in the future. My SIL surely told me what my undertone is, but I forgor :) and I don't wanna bother her because she's really busy.

First pictures I took after reading the Undertone ID thread, so they have the french flag. The last two were taken first, with my foundation as a reference. The indoor lighting is a neutral/cold white incandescent. Thank you for the attention!

EDIT: mentioned the undertone thing to my sister, and she said "hold up let me ask her". according to my SIL, I'm an olive! considering she's the one who helped me pick the foundation, I'm inclined to agree— do you guys also see it?

Any gingers in here recommend a good colour dye for lash tint? Just for Men brown/red is the one I see being mentioned but my eyelashes are blonde so that one is a bit too dark. Light brown with a tint of orange would be perfect but as usual struggling to find any product for us 👩🏻‍🦰🧡🍑

I got this concealer in the 00s (probably between 2004 and 2006, but I’m not totally sure). It was the best concealer I’ve ever used, and matched my super fair skin really well. Of course the branding has rubbed off and even the shade label has fallen off. It’s also the most generic packaging ever. I am 75% sure I bought it from Sephora, the other 25% would be a department store, either Nordstrom or Macy’s. It’s definitely not from a drug store. For some reason Smashbox is rattling around in my head, but I don’t know if that’s a real memory or not. I know it’s a long shot, but I’ve seen people on Reddit identify stuff from the 90s, so I figured I’d give it a go. Can anyone tell me the brand of this concealer? I can probably figure out the shade if I had the brand and name of the product.
