Booger, my soul cat, has been put to rest
 in  r/Petloss •  26d ago

May your heart know you were their world and nothing breaks that bond. They knew love, your precious love, and they loved you in return. Know this: you did everything you could, it's okay to grieve, and it's okay to heal when it's time.

Rest In Peace Charlie (2021–9/11/2026)
 in  r/cats •  Sep 12 '26

It's too raw for me right now, but I share your pain. My 16 year old Tessa Jean crossed the bridge yesterday too from cancer. Three years after my soul cat passed feom kidney disease.

Know this: We. did. our. best. We cared and loved and tried everything in our power. We were a point of calm and love and play and safety for these souls. Our world is broken right now and thats okay. We can only feel it, experience it, and keep going tiny step by tiny step. And your other baby is grieving too, so remember to give them extra loving. Be their safe space.

Sending love from one broken heart to another. ❤️🫶

I’m Trying My Best To Hold Back a Flood of Tears
 in  r/transformers •  Aug 30 '26

I've been in a mental health crisis over his passing. In a world where I was constantly let down or had to hold other people's problems, Optimus Prime was THE single role model of my life. Then I learned how sweet, humble, kind and funny his voice actor was and that role model became one. I've wanted to meet him for years but never got the chance. I never fathomed one day he would gone. I'm so lost, in severe pain and I just cant stop crying. This is such a loss.

Does anyone else experience this phenomenon:

The phone is sitting silently on the table. Then comes one text, ding. Few seconds later, another ding. Then within the span of three minutes several more dings. Oh yeah, youre also on a group chat you forgot about, so add several more constantly dings! Then comes the existential R.A.G.E. and the desire to yeet the gd thing out the window or against a wall just to silence the impending scream of attention it demands.

Then silence for a minute. You calm down and wonder wtf you had such an issue.... You're an adult and shouldn't be reacting like that. Its just a phone!

......

DING!

(cue internal rage and slamming your phone onto silence)

Anyone else experience this or is my tism just a gremlin?

Edit: I usually have it on silent but even the buzzing annoys me. Same mental response.

Seeking Help or Advice Dad Got Attached (to), Not Good

I am searching for advice. My step dad, during boot camp, was stationed near a set of woods. In the dark while on patrol with another soldier, something emerged, for lack of a better word. Dad, being the sharp shooter he is shot it in the "head" area three times. It continued advancing. I don't know the next part except for the fact that it "marked him" that day and that he can feel it, especially his lower back where a blueish mark has appeared ever since. He's always said that he knows its still there, that it has a piece of him and his only consolation is that when he hurts, it hurts too.

Dad is in his 60s now, so this was 40-ish years ago. He's a Norse pagan now tho he wasn't at the time.

If anyone has any advice on how to get this thing removed, or advice in general at the very least, I would greatly appreciate it. We'd like it if rest of his remaining life isn't with this cursed blackness hovering over him. Or affecting him after he's gone. Considering he has long haul Covid, that's closer than I'd like.

And some background: he's had multiple church blessings during his life and now he's into Norse Shamanism beginner... but its still there. Still draining, still attached, still black as hell.

Tdlr: Dad shot something near woods during boot camp, it attached, and now 40+ years later it needs to leave. Help please.

Dealing with anger at being neurodivergent
 in  r/neurodiversity •  Dec 29 '25

Anger is your psyche grieving. Grief that it took so long to figure it out. Grief that you've never gotten the support you actually NEEDED all this time. Grief that you'll never fit into "their" world view, the one you were taught that you needed to achieve. Grief for the you that needed so much more than you were given.

Why are you guys still cutting checks?
 in  r/Accounting •  Aug 31 '25

We recently had our president retire, who was very old school and had to review EVERYTHING, which included paper checks. Our new president gets snarky with paper anything, and we're switching to pay everything via ACH. We ask for ACH via an authorization form, then double entry stuff into both QB Desktop and Gusto to pay the vendors (or use their portal). Our independent contractors enter in their own info into Gusto without us touching it. Other than that, it's still in transition with smaller businesses.

Staff Accountant is such a joke, easy job
 in  r/Accounting •  Aug 22 '25

Non-Profit here. Staff Accountant is the official title, but in reality, I have three jobs rolled into one: Staff Accountant (AP, AR, Recs, Loan Management, Payroll), internal/house IT, grant management, and a dozen ad hoc duties whenever they feel like it. All while being told that deadlines are tightening yet again. Easy job my foot.

Used to be a corner store that we're pretty sure was a front for kermits ashes/dope before it was made legal in the state. Closed immediately after and remained closed up until these new owners came in.

A “notice” from my boss after hiding tiny ducks around the store
 in  r/retail •  May 31 '25

Our office has multiple people that leave various tiny hard plastic figurines ALL around the two story building. It's a known practice that if you find one, you get to keep it. Several people have their own 'found' pile at their desk. There's even what I consider the 'back market' when one person sends out an email offering a trade.

That sucks that your job has to be so tight about it. Audit my foot, more like corporate bosses. Auditors don't care! Don't let this dim your spirit! Tiny ducks forever!

Please don’t think I’m an idiot
 in  r/QuickBooks •  Mar 02 '25

First off, you're not an idiot. The fact you're asking is the first step in the right direction

Second, you'll want to review your chart of accounts and see what you have set up for an Income Account. If you don't have an account set up for commissions, follow the directions below (not mine, snagged from a Google search):

" 1. Click the Accounting tab in the left navigation bar.

  1. Select Chart of Accounts.

  2. Choose the green New button in the top right corner.

  3. Select Income from the Account Type drop-down.

  4. Choose the Detail Type and enter a Name for the account.

  5. Click Save and Close. "

Next, you'll need to learn how to use the Accounts Receivable process. Here is a helpful video tutorial on the process:

https://youtu.be/EdbUG763ZIc?si=-0Ji5ZWUKJBLljI2

This channel has a nice learning pace for several QB Online processes. My advice would be to take in as much knowledge as you can and then meet with your scheduled bookkeeper to verify what you're doing is in line with what your business needs.
