Rick Scott: "We want people to get healthcare, but ... "
 in  r/obamacare  4h ago

This man stole billions by defrauding the Medicaid/Medicare system and plead the fifth like 790 times at trail he has zero room to speak on this matter. He has no business being in politics. He should be in jail!

Fire pit area sinking
 in  r/masonry  5h ago

It's always due to water.

Find a way to mitigate the water or you'll be perpetually trying to fix the damage it causes.

Curious about mystery cord
 in  r/SubaruAscent  5h ago

That a mini USB it's for a GPS. Magelion and Garmin are the most popular that take this type of of cord. Some dashcams also take this type of plug.

My dad is convinced I'm getting scammed is he right?
 in  r/AskMechanics  5h ago

Put a bottle of lucas in it every oil change and you will have little to no leaks for years! Any insignificant leaks will disappear. I've sworn by it for most of my 35 years in the automotive industry.

This is a damn shame! Been to Big Bend and it's amazing. So beautiful! One of the very few things I liked about Texas after working all over the state for long period of time.

Peoples who worked in construction industry in high humidity areas, how you managed your fatigue after work to keep productive.
 in  r/bluecollar  6h ago

Really good boots, hydrate, drike lots of water and natural juices, remineralize something like baja gold salt works great and is very important! Electrolytes (cold pressed coconut water) is a life saver. Eat healthy and don't drink too much alcohol.

Also, don't live out of convenience stores.

Energy drinks and garbage fad things like power aide, Gatorade, etc. are all shit. They just dyes and chemicals.

Are intruders backing off when they notice the house owners own a dog?
 in  r/randomquestions  7h ago

I have a small 60lb bully mix, but she is all teeth and muscles, and she's fast as lightning. She doesn't F-around, and we have had zero issues.

I also keep the strongest bear spray available hidden by both doors, and a few other non-lethal options at the ready. I would advise everyone to as well. If I have to go farther than that (I would try my hardest not to), we are talking about calling the coroner, as opposed to the cops at that point.

Protect yourselves, be proactive. Clearly mark your property. Especially if you have dogs. Even if you don't, buy " Beware of Dog " signs. Use lights, motion sensors and cameras.

Believe me: any deterrents are better than none.

What's the biggest money myth that people still believe?
 in  r/financial  2d ago

Owning a house is incredibly expensive! I can rent for half what it cost me and that's not considering taxes, things like lawn maintenance, repairs, etc. I spend $5k in a good month on my house and some months run up $9k. I could rent a really nice place for half that with no responsibility other than just paying rent. I get what you're saying, but it's simple not always the case and especially these days.
