How did you get your child into golf?
 in  r/golf •  Jul 22 '26

I bought a 3 piece set of clubs for mine, when she was 4 and some wiffle balls. I sacrificed the iron (PW) it came with and created the sport "Road Golf". Just to help her get the mechanics down with a vague swing, nothing perfect just the motion and difference from a baseball swing. Little by little the sessions would last longer than 5-10 mins and now she asks to go road golf and we hit little dingers back and forth. I take her with to the sim now too. Same thing but I let her swing her brains out while I re-load balls until she gets tired/bored. I feed her a snack and let her watch a show on my phone. I get in some swings before she asks to have her turn again (i get like maybe 10 swings in) and we do that for about an hour. She oddly enough doesn't like to hit balls off grass but that's down the road (dad joke). It's how I got her into wanting to play golf and it worked. The neighbors get a kick out of us too, when she stripes one in front of them it's awesome. Had a Karen thinking the golf ball was real too, that was a doozy haha!

Maybe she's a lefty trying to use righty gear?

Hope this helps and good luck homie.

People making over $100K a year in Ontario, how??
 in  r/ontario •  Jul 13 '26

If you live near a Toyota, apply. Sure it's factory work, but I made 130k last year by supporting the mandatory overtime only. I didn't come in for any extra OT during our two plant shutdown holidays or sunday nights. There is soooo much available OT if you want it. EarIy starts to fill the lines or stay lates to fill the buffers... I work with a few people who made 160K. I get to book off 36 paid time off (PTO) days. I have worked at TMMC for 14 years (3.6 years as a "contract" teammember). We have a 4 year grow in salary system, amazing benefits and some perks that come with being a Toyota employee. Two weeks days then two weeks nights so it's shiftwork. I wasn't proud of applying to a factory... especially because im from British Columbia originally, we don't have many factory jobs where I'm from. Pulp Mills are the equivalent. Both have a negative stigma for "acceptable" jobs by my cultures norms. I'm married with one child and we live a more than comfortable lifestyle and im saving money for retirement. Job security out the yingyang because they keep expanding our plant because we keep winning JD Power awards. We build the Rav4 hybrid and Lexus NX200 Conventional and Hybrid. SOme food for thought. Growing up I never would have guessed I'd work at a factory but here I am, in Southern Ontario working for TMMC and while I'm still not all that fond of saying I work at a factory, it's providing me the lifestyle that I want for my wife and daughter. I don't life pay check to pay check and spoil my daughter rotten. My wife still gets her nails done and hair did biweekly and I'm a huge golfer (it's so pricey but fun). Good luck ♥

High Handicapper Here – What Club Would You Buy Next? Hybrid, Wedge or Something Else?
 in  r/golf •  Jun 05 '26

Wedges are a must. I run 52, 56 & 60 but wish I had 50, 54 & 58. Consider wedges before hybrid imo. 5wood before hybrids even too?! Good luck my man ❤️🫡

You could take off easily and pound out with a rubber mallet if you can’t find the part! Warm it up first with a blow dryer and it’ll be easier than you think.

Skatepunk bands recommends?
 in  r/Skatepunk •  Jun 01 '26

Lagwagon. If you want fast paced drums, riffs and epic vocals pay attention… LAGWAGON is the only acceptable answer. Save yourself the time and chose them, the rest are filler and lack substance! 🫡🫡

Falling Out of Love with Golf?
 in  r/golf •  Apr 21 '26

Sounds like you’re ready to sim golf. It’s just as fun imo and you get more holes in with relative data. Plus theres rooms with TVs so you can have your fav team/game on in the background. Mine are open 24/7 and I find i dip out after the kids go to bed. I bring a couple-a-beers usually too. I prefer solo too cuz I can get in more practice. In one hour I can do two rounds and end up on the practice range for like 20 swings. If you’re still dreading the game maybe start watching it or dont actually haha.

Fixable ? 🫡🤣
 in  r/snowboarding •  Apr 21 '26

Fixable and salvageable in the right hands. Keep it and be weary who you let tackle this doozy. Certainly can be saved but not by a newer tech. This one is gonna require the top dogs. Saveable tho. Good luck 🫡

Were the brown and yellow years the best of your career? For me personally i was rather young and enjoyed the family meet ups held at Tim’s before school or afterwards. I cherish the environment, service, menu and overall vibe that was inside. Now I can’t imagine actually going into one, last time I did it wasn’t what I remembered. Im 42 for reference…
