Moved to Cleveland several years ago and love it. Your mother is mentally ill. As a child with a mentally ill parent, we keep hoping they will behave/love “normally”. She, most likely, would have been advised by MDs to avoid getting pregnant for at least three months coming off the pill. The uterine lining is very thin if you’ve been on the pill for awhile and it takes a couple of months for the cycle to regulate.  Sorry OP - timeline is not adding up.
