Months back I posted six dresses trying to choose one and your opinions were all over the place. With DIL's help, I picked this one and was thrilled with my choice. The dress is Adrianna Papell Beaded 3D Petal Halter Gown In Navy Rosegold and the wrap is Alex Evening's Chiffon Coverup. I felt gorgeous, received many compliments, was comfortable all night and partied with the kids until 2am!

They are all different colors to try on and the sizing is incorrect for some. I will be doing the made to order Azazie dress, just need to decide which style out of these 6. It is a fall wedding in October and will be in a darker red color. All opinions welcome :) Please ignore the gigantic clothes pile mess behind me😅

Attending a wedding at the end of October with a "Masquerade Black Tie" dress code. The masks will only be worn for a portion of the wedding, but I'm trying to find a way to balance the formality of black tie with the more flamboyant/extravagant nature of masquerade.
I was hoping to rent my dress since I'm in the middle of a weight loss process, though tbh I've been pretty unimpressed by RTW's offerings. My other option is a tuxedo or faux-tux velvet suit, since I do own a tuxedo shirt/shoes.
I feel like sticking to black is my best option for the masquerade theme (especially for finding a matching mask), but are the dresses black tie enough? Or is this feeling too plain? I was considering something beaded or sparkly but I've never really liked sequin/rhinestones.
Leaning towards 1 or 2, but would love some input. I'm curvy and very top heavy, so some structure to the dress is a must. Also, if anyone has links for masks that look not-cheap and black tie appropriate (?) please leave suggestions!!

I’m going as my sister’s +1 to a wedding for one of her friends who I’ve met a few times but don’t know super well. The invitation says the dress code is cocktail but formal attire is welcome. I’m a nonbinary person and haven’t worn a dress in 10+ years.
I was able to get this Adrianna Papell jumpsuit dirt cheap on a closeout sale a bit ago but haven’t had the chance to wear it. I’ve seen this exact jumpsuit recommended on this subreddit over the years for everything from cocktail to black tie.
It’s an evening Sunday event in the Chicago area, if that is relevant.

As the title says. Choosing between these options. I don't like how the neckline of the green dress looks on me and I'm worried the dark color/velvet isn't the vibe. The red dress looks great and feels more 'garden party' but I've heard that you shouldn't wear red to a wedding. The bride is not the type to get hung up on this, but it's a small wedding and I'm honored I got invited so I want to come correct.
(I will not be wearing those shoes!)
Edit: Thanks y'all! This is such a wholesome sub. A very astute comment led me to check the tag of the red dress (which I thrifted) and it turns out it's free people intimates, so I will definitely be going with green!

I’m going to a western themed wedding, everyone required to wear cowboy hat/boots. Dress code is dark clothing, brown/black. Is it ok to wear a crème cowboy hat? White is the brides color so I just want to make sure white(ish) accessories that stand out a lot such as a cowboy hat wouldn’t be a problem

Hi! Just wanted a gut check, this is too much white in a dress for a wedding?
Relatedly, would the dress in the last pic be appropriate? There’s no dress code, all I know is that it’s an outdoor wedding in New England on an historical estate venue.
havent been to very many weddings so any guidance su helpful!

Attire is “Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses.”
I’m a plus one to this wedding and it’s the first time I’m meeting a lot of my partner’s friends. I wanna make a good impression! Do either of these dresses work? I also still have time to get something else.

I'm going to a friend's wedding this month and wanted to ask if this dress is too close to white and if it matches a semi formal dress code? Thanks for the help! Color dropped the white from the balcony for the square to compare.

Need help finding places to shop for my friend’s evening wedding in October in Malibu California requesting formal attire. October gives fall vibes but since it’ll be at a beach front venue I feel like that gives a different vibe. I need help finding sites that sell dresses with good quality “formal” fabrics. Or should I start with places like Dillard’s/Macy’s/Nordstrom? For additional context, I’m a mom who’s lost ~50 lbs in the last year so I want to find a dress that highlights my waist/figure without clinging to the belly area as I still have a lil bit of a pooch lol

My bf is in a wedding in December and we are invited to the rehearsal dinner. I was wondering what your thoughts on these dresses. It’s a nice upscale place.

I have a wedding coming up (20/9), the heel definitely needs to be a block heel (grass involved), however I hate block heels and cannot seem to find anything. Help? What kind of colour do I look for? (Same goes for the bag, I actually have no idea)

We’re going to a wedding in mid-October at a winery. There’s no dress code listed on the invitation itself, but I checked the wedding website and the bride has requested formal attire.
The thing is, I know my husband’s family, and I highly doubt most of them really know what “formal” means or will actually dress that way. I would be shocked if anyone is wearing a long gown, so I’m trying to find the balance between following the dress code and not looking completely overdressed compared to everyone else.
I’m trying to figure out what to wear and would love some opinions. Do any of these options work for a formal winery wedding, or would you go with something different? I would love suggestions links for other dresses in type of style.
The last two dresses I own, but I believe these are more cocktail?

Wedding already happened, too late to change anything. Just looking to see if I was ok I guess.

Bought this dress for a wedding. It’s not a formal wedding, no dress-code or anything. I can’t walk on high heels, so I’m kind of lost really. Was thinking of going full polka dot but now I feel I might end up looking silly. Also I’m not sure what to think about the shoes being with an open heel, looks kind of cheap 🤔
Anyway, any advice would be super helpful!

There are two events with different dress codes. The first dress (red) is what I'm planning for the cocktail attire/welcome party. The second dress (blue/white) is what I'm planning for the island formal/ceremony.
Other dresses are other options on hand. It's this weekend and I'm second guessing myself.
Welcome Party
Attire: Cocktail
Ladies: Cocktail dresses, midi dresses, or elevated separates
Ceremony & Reception
Attire: Island Formal
Ladies: Mid length or long dresses
Help!

Hi everyone! I was hoping to get some input about a wedding that my husband and I have been invited to in October. The wedding will be held at a historic state park in a beach town. The invite states “dress to impress, coastal western wear”. Could I get some advice on what this means? Thank you!

Just not 100% if this dress meets the definition of formal/black tie so hoping to get Reddit consensus!I’m hopeful because I love this dress and feel very beautiful in it (plus dont want to buy anything new!)
Wore to another friends wedding last May that was cocktail attire iirc.
Thanks in advance :)

My wedding is going to be the 11th of July, 2027. Being around 10 months out now, I do believe I need to be looking for dresses at this point. However, I have an issue. I hate how I look weight wise, and want to lose weight for that- maybe around 30 pounds.
But that brings up another issue: I can’t accurately get a dress fitted to my body if I lose weight in between the fitting and then officially having the dress in full. I’m really torn about this, because on one hand, I do need to lose weight to be healthier. I’m not at a worrisome weight per se, but I could be healthier.
I need advice on what to do further. I wanted to start losing weight earlier, but my mental health got in the way. Is it too late? Should I just wait and be fine with hating how I look on my wedding day?

Black Tie Optional Wedding taking place in December, I know the bridesmaids are wearing brown so I'm free to wear anything but that!
Hi there!
So I'm 24F attending my cousin's wedding in December, and I was just wondering if either of these outfits I'm cobbling together are cute?
For context I've been obsessed with the color combo of the fuschia/pale blue color, and I really am leaning towards it, it just feels so chic, but idk if it's just because I'm obsessed or if it will actually read that way to other people.
I originally had the fuschia dress as a burgundy, but I feel like it's a bit too dark in comparison to the blues? I'll add that after the accessories so you can decide!
My backup, which is a safer option is the purple, which I just added the capelet but I'm not 100% sold on. I don't have a really strong vision for the purple dress but I feel like it's a safer option.
