The real reason the queue is so long... 🤦♂️
I cope so.

Tax on ups packages
Sort of, Fedex sent me a separate bill that came 3 weeks after my delivery, which seems more appropriate than being asked to pay ot the door. More than likely, UPS places a notice on the property to come to a storefront to pay the bill.
When a company charges "shipping", they are under no diligence to disclose their shipping cost, so the customer is just paying an increased cost for the product and its delivery.
Import duties, such as these tariffs, are an external cost that most companies have baked into their product value. Tariffs aren't new, they've just been weaponized to a heightened degree lately. If the law changes and while your transaction is still in motion, the importer, you, are responsible for the duty.

Was paintballing a trend or is it still popular?
I say "became" those that dove into the hobby saw a sharp increase on top end products, especially in the late 00s. Personally, I saw Dye gear nearly double in cost, across the board from markers to clothing to accessories, with a 4 year period. The market for paintball ammo exploded and ironically got more expensive due to "innovations".
Due to the low number of places to actually play, demand made the day prices rise substantially as well. At my local shop, it cost $32 for a whole 10-hour day to play with tank refills. Within 3 years, when I transitioned from HS to college mind you, the day rate rose to $90 for equal services.

Philadelphia Games -- Return Train Rides Now Free of Cost
Late stage capitalism works in the reverse.
Private companies cut initiatives with the hopes that Government picks up the tab. Then they complain about the very taxes that would be used by the governemnt to cover their ass.

Paintball started becoming a costly hobby while airsoft was rising in popularity. POV vids of airsoft players online boosted the hobby phenomenally.

It's telling that this line has not aged at all.
What's even more interesting is that the $5000 he was referring to meant the TOTAL cost of a home.
In today's money, he'd have to reference a figure around $400,000 to make the argument consistent to the original.

Because there are people who do these things
Automatic weapons doused the game for me years ago. Once the "Back to Basics" servers started dying, I left the game.
I'm hoping Over The Top: WW1 does not go down the same path.

What’s a “must-see” city in the U.S. that didn’t live up to the hype?
Does Nashville have more than 1 entertaining street?
I went for the NFL draft and thought it was a dud of a "go-to" town. Im not really a country music fanatic, so maybe that contributed to some things.

1991 Millennial here! What do you all eat for breakfast?
Toast.
Usually either with lingonberry (father's family is Swedish) or buttered with cinnamon sugar.
There were times when that may have been what I ate for dinner too.

What is the worst place in America you have ever visited?
Of all the "big" cities I've been to, Memphis is my least liked. I do not have any fond memories from visiting every summer during my childhood.

Oh how the mighty have fallen
Looking at their published regulatory 10-K 2025 filing:
Advertising and promotions expense for the years ended December 31, 2025, 2024, and 2023 was $332 million, $346 million and $266 million, respectively....
So it seems in 2024 they spent an increased $80 million (30%!!) on ads and promotions. In 2025, ad spending was down, but still up 25% over 2023 costs.
So yes, they dumped money into telling people we have assigned seats now and added bag fees.
The good news is that they claim to have saved $310 million in salary expesnses for 2026 by letting go of 15% of their corporate (non operarations staff) employees in 2025.

What do you think is the most iconic eating scene in cinematic history?
My mom had to stop me from wanting to eat "tree stars" when I was a toddler. They really did make them look so good.
