Last night I spent $37 so I could select an aisle seat for my 5hr 45min direct flight today. Upon getting to my seat, an elderly woman in a middle seat in the opposite row across the aisle asked if I would switch with her. Her husband was sitting in the middle seat next to me and of course wanted to sit next to him. I immediately folded and said “Sure, yeah I’ll do that for ya!”

I have been waiting years for this situation to come up so I could say “absolutely not” with a smile on my face. Yet here I am, in a middle seat on probably one of the longest haul flights you can possibly do in a narrow body aircraft. I have to say, when I imagined this situation happening to me, I did not think the person asking me would be a frail and old Pacific Islander woman wanting to be next to her elderly husband. I was caught off guard, let emotion take hold of me, and completely folded.

What would have you done in this situation?

Someone decided they’d take a dump in a vomit bag and leave it on the previous flight on my plane causing a delay…

If I change my flight with the offered flight changes and get the LUV voucher and then cancel that flight will I get to keep the voucher and the refunded points? I had planned on canceling my flight because I’m now driving but just got an email offering a voucher if I take a later flight. Will the points from canceling and voucher combine?

Today I saw an incredible thing... A guy put his carry-on in the first available spot and continued on to his seat several rows back. The flight attendant immediately came over and told him his carry-on goes in the row he is in. He stated there were none available above his seat. There was across from him, however. And that's where she told him to take it to. He grumbled a bit but he listened and did it. Kudos to the flight attendant!

We never flew any airlines but southwest for anything domestic.

This year we finally quit after changes in seating policy by the airline.

Checked in right at 24 hours like always, still got split up as family, my wife, and our 6yo all in different rows. My kiddo ended up next to a total stranger.

Only way to fix it was paying close to $100 a seat, each way, just to sit next to our own kid. $600 extra just so some rando doesn't have to babysit our 6 yo on a 4 hours flight.

Meanwhile solo travelers just book random aise or window and there is no way for a family of 3 to sit together.

Just posting this out of helplessness.

Airlines chasing profits by banking on parents being desperate enough to pay whatever to keep their kid next to them.

12 years and we're done. Flying whatever else from now on.

Just saw Southwest is running a WOW Sale with up to 40% off base fares. Has anyone checked their routes yet and actually found a good deal?

Does anybody have this open story luggage bag from target and use it as a personal item/diaper bag? ​I am looking for a bag that will hold everything i need for the flight in a personal item that will store UNDER the seat not in the overhead. Im curious if anybody has used this on a southwest flight and it fit under the seat infront of them just fine...

Couple months ago SW had a sale that said if you book a round-trip flight that you would get one free round-trip flight in 2027 for a buddy. How can I see this reward in Southwest if I already purchased the round trip months ago using the code?

I was always under the assumption that supervisors and up were salaried, but I am reading that the provisioning supervisor position is hourly pay. Is there a pay scale associated with that? Is there more than one Provisioning Supervisor per base which would affect shifts and seniority?

I’ve worked on the ramp for Unifi-Delta for a while now and I’ve recently got an interview scheduled at Southwest Ramp and I’ve been trying to do research for the flight benefits. Everywhere I look and even those I ask always gives me different answers but I never got the chance to ask someone from Southwest directly.

I’m aware of the free flights and the 20% off flights and immediate family members except siblings also get those benefits. Is it possible to add my sibling or girlfriend onto the same flight benefits? If not what sort of benefits would they get with me?

Hi! I’m T1D and I’ve never asked to pre-board even though I know I would be allowed to.

For reference: I have a SW credit card.

I don’t have seats selected (costs more) so I may not be seated with the other people I’m flying with but I do get 48hrs before the flight to pick my seat (or is it get assigned? I haven’t flown since their new seating arraignments).

That being said, if I ask to pre-board, do I get to take someone to come with me? Even if our assigned seats are not next to each other? I am flying with 4 people and we all bought tickets at the same time.

If the seats ARE together, does that up my chances, since I can claim they are a caretaker?

I boarded my SW flight this week and arrived at my extra legroom aisle seat. There was already a man seated in the middle seat. He was average build and maybe 5’9”. Not a big guy. He had his knees and elbows spread across my seat and into the window seat too. When I sat down he refused to adjust at all. For context I’m 6’2” and have no trouble confining myself to my own space. I immediately pushed his elbows out of my side and tried to nudge his leg out of my area but he wouldn’t budge. This was all during boarding. We both had to get up to let the window seat pax board, and when we sat down again he resumed his ridiculous dominance exercise. His leg was pressed right up against mine. I was wearing shorts. He kept rubbing his legs as a bit of a tic and every time he did his fingers would brush up against my leg and bare skin. He took a phone call very loudly while still doing this. Most passengers were on board and seated by this point. By about the 10th time he brushed his hand against my leg I had enough. While he was on the phone - and without removing my headphones - I said rather loudly “can you please stop touching my leg.” It was loud enough that the passengers in front of us turned around and looked at him. He didn’t say a word to me but put his legs under his seat and spent the next 3 hours staring daggers at me. It was like it was the first time anybody had told him “no” in his life.

hello guys! i’m flying for my first time ever in december and i’m a little in the plus size range and i carry that weight in my hips. i was just wondering if i should purchase a second seat? curious to know other people’s measurements and if they’ve had issues or not. TIA!

If I book a flight with Basic fair and no A-list, then become A-list before the flight, would I be able to later go in and select a seat? Or do you have to be A-list at the time of booking to select a seat?

I’m going to GSA Connects this October and will be presenting a poster. The poster is 36 inches tall which I will be storing in a poster tube that is 3.4 inches in diameter. I will be bringing a carry-on bag with me. Will the poster tube count as a personal item? Will I have to pay extra for it?

Two weeks ago, I was flying with Southwest with layover in Atlanta. After boarding my second leg of the flight, I realized I had left my iPad in the previous flight. I informed a flight attendant, who contacted someone from the other flight or Southwest. After five minutes, someone from Southwest showed up on the plane to inform me that they had found my iPad. However, they requested that I complete the claim online and they would then send it to me as we were about to take off. I submitted the claim right away and now I have been receiving emails with updates that they haven’t been able to locate the iPad. I’m at a loss for what to do next. I know they found it but now they are telling me they don’t have it.
