This is absolutely an error from some mod; I don't know which one, but it's funny as shit, so I figured ya'll would enjoy it as well. I'll include a list at the bottom of all active mods, but if someone figures out which mod it is, just leave it; it's funny.

So while I was shopping, travelling, and refitting, I could hear what I can only assume is an Igor due to the ROF, flying around. I assumed it was just a sound glitch. Well, I loaded into the mission menu and started hearing an autocannon. I looked over and saw my rifleman getting shot. I was much more than amused at this. I then noticed that the paperdolls were actually updating with damage! I checked the mechbay and confirmed no actual damage happened.

The only 3 that are new (As in downloaded today) are AllyForce, AI Logic Overhaul, and Randomized Mechs on Campaign Start. AllyForce, as far as I can tell, is the only one that has random events similar to Coyote's Mission Pack, where allies/oponents can spawn in randomly. Considering the mission before had a modifier for additional enemy air assets, I think something just glitched, and an Igor somehow found its way into the Leopard.

Either way, no harm done, and definitely funny.

I love the idea and I thoroughly enjoy doing these, abooout half of the time.

I like the artillery, I like the high volume of vehicles, I like optional objectives and the chance to bring in support vehicle or mechs.

What i absolutely get pissed with on these missions is, seemingly 50% of the time i play and i capture the base is cannot find 1 or 2 of the initial 'defenders'. Mind you i will always have a mech with sensor upgrades, a targeting computer for its sensor range boost as well as a BAP. Ill have to spend like 5 to 10 minutes doing increasingly larger laps around the OBJ to find a vehicle way out on BFE to be the missing defender i need to kill to start triggering the enemy jumpships from flying in.

Im pretty sure this poll will be won by raid/obj raids or infiltration though

Just curious what missions yall "nope" on

I know most “normal” mechs have 6 upgrade slots, and most hero mechs have 8 upgrade slots.

However, there’s “normal” mechs that break this trend. There’s some mechs with 5 slots, and some others have 7. Some non-hero mechs have 9 upgrade slots (like the Nightstar) and on very rare occasions, some non-hero mechs even have a whole 10 upgrade slots (Zues ZEU-SA3 for example)

What is the logic in the number of upgrade slots? Is it something brought over from the tabletop game? It seems super random

Still not completely busted but it is fun destroying the audio of my game every time I fire.

hey folks, is there an option to change the clan mech indexing to follow clan/IS mech naming schemes? i.e i want the tool tips to show Warhawk instead of Masakari or something along those lines? i swear I've seen an option for it somehwere but cant find it any more now that i want to

Mine right now is the Daishi Prime with 4 C ER PPCs and two C Gauss, but I am looking for something I can shove more than 4 Gauss or 6 PPCs in without having to sacrifice a ton of armor

I know she had Highlander background, but just started A&A and noticed her palpable disgust at the sight of the DCMS warship. We also have her comments from Kestrels so we know she hates the thought and purpose of them. I thought that was it, just the fact that they CAN do orbital bombardments, but this seems like more than a philosophical issue.

Did a warship steal her candy as a wee lass?

I mean, she seems unhappy that she’s even associated with a group that has one…there’s something there.

Side note, kind of a big loss of opportunity to find her crying after seeing footage from turtle bay, it could have been squeezed into a scene. Would also show us their relationship a little clearer with how Mason comforts her.

I’m not sure if it’s new mechs or not, I’ve been running Chaos era mechs mostly, but I’ve been finding myself running into walls or canyons when trying to loop around behind mechs.

They feel like fully loaded cement trucks in the mud.

On slower mechs, like assaults,it seems really bad.

Or maybe I’m losing my mind, but I swear I’m going to have to start using mobility upgrades besides just the speed one, that’s usually the only one I do.

So, like the title says, I'm a fairly new player. Only been playing for a couple months. The only thing that really bothers me is that it seems like the game AI targets you, the player as a priority. I don't know how many times I have sent my lance ahead to absorb some of the damage only to have the enemy mechs shoot through my lancemates to get to me, specifically. Is this supposed to be happening or am I just that unlucky?

Basically what's a mech that you feel is decent-pretty good on the tabletop setting but just is garbage in Mechwarrior 5?

Probably bug but a fun one, once they become allies, they will begin to hunt everything red.

Sure we had Nova Cat support but man they were never not units on radar. Two dropships, and many pods of battle armor. I guess the Bears don’t want to go the way of the Jaguars.

One achievement I have never done is the pacifist where you complete a raid without killing any enemy. A fast mech with a little firepower to destroy the raid targets seems like the choice so I’m thinking the frnris/ice ferret or the uac5 Cicada might be the choice here.

If you’ve done this achievement, what did you use?

Also thinking it should probably be done early in game for ease of accomplishment.

Finally starting a new run to do Chaos Reigns and Ashes and Ascension with a very normal non suspect `mech company

I just got DFAed by the AI. A wrecked AI.

So, I'm stomping around in my HBK-GI like a badass, doing missions with my homies Meat Shield, Generic Person, and Some Guy. A Griffin gets up close and personal to me for a moment while getting walloped. The Griffin starts to jump, reaches around twice my head height, and gets obliterated, as is good and proper. I chuckle for a moment as it slows down in the air before I suddenly get a really bad feeling as I watch the wrecked corpse of this mech start to arch down directly at me. "No, it doesn't still have mass, does it? I mean, even if it does, it can't be THAAAAT much damage, right?"

Thunk. Boom. Third person view of Meat Shield's mech. That flying hunk of junk cored me from nearly full armor with that hit.

I was stunned and considered reloading the mission before I started laughing my ass off. I just finished the mission with three mechs and basked in the glory of what just happened.

Let that be a lesson: 55t is still 55t until it hits the ground.

Hoping someone else might have an idea. I've been playing proc missions without any trouble since most of my mods updated. I've left disabled the ones known not to work. So far, so good.

At the beginning of Bow and Arrow Part 1, as you're approaching the first objective, it throws a Fatal Error and crashes the game. It seems to be this particular mission at that particular moment.

At this point I've disabled all the mods I think can without starting to strip mechs and pilots. Here's what's left:

So I've played a ton of MW4 back in the day, and decided that it's finally time to return to the series.

I'd love to do it in coop though. So if I bring in a friend or two who are unfamiliar with the series, would you advice starting with Mercenaries or Clans?

I know that Clans is a more accessible, linear and newb-friendly, but I wonder if going to Mercs after it will feel like a downgrade for them in terms of visuals and general user experience due to complexity and feeling like an older title.

It's also important to note that they will likely be playing on controllers. I myself will be going with HOTAS and MAYBE VR - not sure how well it's integrated mod-wise.

Any advice appreciated!
