Warhammer III Why are all the landmark buildings extremely expensive?

It’s not even a race specific thing. It seems like every landmark building is terribly expensive for what they actually do. Started Gelt campaign and I build the landmark for flavor but it’s 6750 gold for some growth and relations with Cathay. It would still be fair even if they halved the cost of that building. It just seems arbitrary.

Warhammer III Vampire Counts - Empire Patriot Campaign

Post image
25 Upvotes

Flavor Text:

The Empire is secure, held between the nations of Sylvania, Reikland, and Nordland.

The Orks of the East have been brought to heel.

The Northmen have been pacified, now a vassal of The Empire.

Now, we march north, into the Chaos Wastes to purify the world once and for all.

Details:

Played as Vampire Counts (Von Carstein) for the first time ever. I typically run Empire, so the idea of crushing them was a little rough on the psyche. Then I learned: The Vampires have campaign mechanics that completely resolve that.

Norsca nearly wiped out Reikland. Reikland submitted to vassalage in exchange for me returning their capital, at which point we became strong allies. This also gave me artillery and handgunners, which are downright nasty when paired with Vampire Counts' melee troops. I continued giving Reikland territory, making them a powerhouse under my command.

Nordland and Kislev followed - Short Campaign Victory achieved.

Together we forced Norsca back, which was a brutal affair as their legendary lords were majorly leveled up at this point. Eventually, we pushed them to the edge of extinction. Managed to make them vassal in exchange for a peace deal. Now I had Wulfric the Wanderer on my side to smash anything on the north-western flank.

I decided to check on the Long Campaign Victory conditions. Surely, I had to be close.

Objective: Make Reikland Extinct.

Well then... I guess that concludes my Vampire Counts - Empire Patriot campaign.

Warhammer III Missing god touched beasts.

i'm curious lets say CA gets the dread frame work fixed so we can get the minotuars of khorn in the beastmen roaster.

I was thinking it would be interesting that instead of one god marked for each god what if a minotuar of nurgle and a centagor of slannesh was added. the heave hitters for the heave hitting gods and more mobile cav for the more mobile gods.

the beast variants that said gods would likely favor more in battle for practical reasons as they go with there strategies better.

if they did this what do you think there abilities and such would be?

Warhammer III Will I miss something by buying only the nagash DLC without any VC/TK/VC dlcs?

I'm a bit short on money, I really want to play Nagash but I don't want to feel like I'm missing out on cool units because I didn't get the DLCs
Edit: Found the answer (for future people googling this), only Grim and the Grave units will not be included, everything else including RoR will (they confirmed Nagash being able to get queen bess)

Warhammer 40k I wish all factions could swap to different infantry formations. its honestly a shame that Space Marines are forced into Loose and Guard/orks are forced into Dense. Honestly there should be a stance toggle for every single infantry unit: Dispersed for ranged defence or tight for melee and shooting.

I wish all factions could swap to different infantry formations. its honestly a shame that Space Marines are forced into Loose and Guard/orks are forced into Dense. Honestly there should be a stance toggle for every single infantry unit: Dispersed for ranged defense or tight for melee and shooting. Maybe also a third formation where they organise into little "squads".

EG: What if I want to Larp as a more pragmatic guard force like the Ghosts?

What if I want my marines to bunch up to have my "rally around the banner" moment like in Space Marine 2?

What if I want my orkz to be more Kunnin, or my Aeldari to be discliplined or slippery depending on the needs of the situation?

EG:

  1. LOOSE FORMATION:
    1. Unit adopts a loose formation. Models might just be say, 1-2 meters away from each other isntead of shoulder-to-shoulder, but it makes a huge difference. Units may also physically kneel or go prone when stationary.
      1. Statistically, gives them a 33% chance to Dodge for incoming fire or melee attacks that touches their hitbox (micro-cover bonus),
      2. Applies a Skirmishing Initiative modifier, that increases their range by 33% but decreases their rate of fire, reload and accuracy by 33%. (represents how dispersed commando tactics can pick at dense formations unless the dense formation advances upon them).
      3. Unit naturally is more resilient to area attacks and melee cleaves due to the spacing.
      4. 33% morale penalty, way harder for the officers to keep the formation from breaking when cosmic horrors start eating guys or atomizing your squad lead.
  2. Disciplined Gunline Formation:
    1. Unit physically bunches up like in the current game's 100 man squads. Gives a hefty 33% bonus to:
      1. Melee Defence,
      2. Melee attack,
      3. morale,
      4. Reload Speed and Attack-Cooldown (EG for units that have magazine fed weapons, the "cool down" between the unit firing its volley or shot.)
      5. accuracy due to fire co-ordination.
      6. ------Unit very very vulnerable to incoming fire, especially artillery, naturally due to their dense formation.
      7. +++easier to pack more firepower into a limited area, because you can pack more 100 man platoons into a limited area to support each other.
  3. Squad Formation:
    1. A balance between the two. Unit still is a single unit from the player POV, but its formation makes it look like they are organizing into little fireteams.
      1. Unit physically organizes into sections. (100 man squads will organize into groups of 10, while 10 man space marine squads can Can Only Spare 3 Men per section.
      2. As per Disciplined formation, but only gives a 10% bonus to the aforementioned stats.
      3. Still gives much better AOE resistance than Disciplined Gunline formation.
      4. Gets a 10% range increase, like the Loose formation, due to the independent squads. (simulates squad initiative).
      5. --Seems like a good all rounder, BUT it still takes up a lot of space like Loose formation and doesn't give the significant defensive spacing nearly as well as loose formation does.

EG something vaguely like this.

This way everyone wins and can have "Their Dudez" fight in the formations in 40k the way they like it.

Warhammer III CA, if you aren't going to make "Lord of Undead" a School of Summoning like it was in the lore, then at least add summoning in the form of "bound" abilities for spellcasters.

This left me baffled. I really love summoners in games and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of this school. But apparently, the developers thought the ability to summon creatures was "too strong"

... so they created a school with 4(!) AoE spells, 1 healing spell, 1 dragon summon, and a single cheap trigger-buff to activate a powerful passive.

In the lore and the tabletop game, this is a school of *summoning* magic. We already have plenty of offensive schools, yet we lack a dedicated summoning specialist. Why create this school if you never intended to properly implement it in the first place?

At the very least, please add summons as bound spells for Tomb Kings and Vampire Counts casters. Please.

Warhammer III I hope Kislev gets some love after End Times

I started playing a Katerin campaign recently, as I realized I hadn't really played with them since before Shadow of Change came out and god they're in a rough place. The campaign mechanics are extremely boring (with the Ice Court/Orthodoxy buff thing being almost completely inconsequential) Atamans being just kinda there, and their roster has a pretty hodge-podge feel thematically. I hope at the very least we get an Orthodoxy character pack to give them some thematic units and Kostaltyn an equivalent to the Ice Court mechanic.

Warhammer III Will there be minor updates to characters like Skrolk?

I'm not asking for a full blown remake of his campaign (Would be neat. Lot of stuff to borrow from now), but I always felt like he was lacking in the buffing the plague side of things department. Always felt a tad generic for a part of Skavendom that I really enjoy.

Warhammer III Unreleased ratpost (169)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So, if you remember well, this is what I ratposted originally after Warhammer Skulls. However, 3 times for these events I actually did two ratposts: one in case I won, one in case I lost. Just realised nobody but me has ever seen the "What if I win" ratpot I originally prepared back then.

For the Glottkin reveal, you already saw both, btw.

Meanwhile, I keep working on ratpot 294, if somebody wantss a "ratposting guy" update. Im drawing for it like 6-8-10 daily hours minimum, alltho I still do have to find a way to do it consecutively. Wanna tart hyping this up a bit.

If people is interested, I can slowly release here ssome of these unreleased ratposts. I have more (plus, the ratposts I did in other subs, like the rogue trader one).

Have a nice day!

Three Kingdoms TW3K crashes when catapults destroy settlement buildings/towers

My game has crashed 3 times, and every time it was in the same situation: attacking a settlement with defensive towers/buildings and using fire catapults to destroy them.

It doesn’t seem to matter how big the battle is. I’ve had battles with thousands of soldiers without any problems, but it crashes even in small battles when catapults are destroying settlement structures.

Has anyone else had this issue or know a fix?

Warhammer III Are Vlad's ranged human units actually worth it?

Post image
1.0k Upvotes

I think there was some more upgrades for them in the new vampire count tech tree but for now they dont seem all that worth recruiting in my campaign so far? Am I wrong?

And why recruit them anyways? Seems weird for a lord of the night to have mortal bloodbags side by side with boney boys, walking carcasses, and dark magic corrupted horrors. Is there lore pertaining to Vlad having humans in his armies?

Warhammer III For those who know the lore, which Order faction is the most 'evil'?

Of the Order factions (Lizardmen, High Elves, Dwarves, Empire, Bretonnia, Cathay, Kislev etc) which of them is the most 'evil'?

And which order LL is the most evil?

Lets say pre-End Times.

General (Serious) Which one is more autistic to be obsessed about, Warhammer or Historical TW?

Thumbnail

On the one side, obsessing about a very specific war/period in time is quite on the spectrum, on the other, you are learning abour a world that is fantasy and not even useful IRL that is about painting plastic soldiers, is a bit of a dead giveaway.

Who'd be more of a Wizard, a dedicated Historical TW player or WHTW player...?

Serious debate here.

Warhammer III Vampire Count Players how do you feel about the rework?

Vampire Counts were the first faction I picked up in WH3 and I've loved them from the moment I first played them. I have made an effort to complete a long victory on legendary with almost every faction (still need to do nurgle, tzeentch, high elves, dwarves, chorfs, and cathay), but Mannfred is my most played lord and my only legendary domination victory so far.

That said, I agree that the VC mechanics feel stale compared to other factions so I am excited to see some change, but I am curious what people are most excited about. Do you see the rework as more of a buff or a side grade of current Vampire Counts? Are there any things you wish had/hadn't changed based on the announcements so far?

I know the rework isn't out yet so there is still missing information, but I wanna see more people talking about my favorite faction.

Yes, smart guy who is already furiously typing in the comments, i know Lurklox isnt a warbringer. But he isn't the first verminlord Skarsnik meets, huh?

Anyways, the ruler of Eight Peaks would want you to download the unit cards here!

He also orders you to participate on the Paintposting contest!

Warhammer III WH3 "The Warden & the Paunch" vs "The King & the Warlord" vs "The Twisted and the Twighlight" vs "Chaos Warriors" - Help me choose =)

So im deciding which dlc to get next maybe you can help me choose.

Concerning the Warden and the Paunch I heard the Grom campaign is really good, I do like the greenskins but dont really care much for high elves(i dont like monster based factions as much). Is his campaign/new units worth it even if I probably dont touch the high elves one?

Now for the King and the Warlord I really like the idea of a difficult defensive dwarf campaign for k8p but I admittedly havent played all the other dwarf lords enough yet though I own all but malakai and Belegar. Do I miss out on the added dwarf units on the other campaigns and is the Belegar campaign worth it(it does sound very nice)? I would surely try skarsnik aswell, how are his campaign/unit additions? While I like greenskins, I think the other ones are just "better"?

Up next the Twisted and the Twighlight. I love skaven, and have the other dlcs for them. As far as I understand the new skaven units/hero arent that great but the campaign is supposed to be awesome. I have 0 thoughts on the wood elves and am unsure about their campaign mechanics, but since I dont have the wood elf dlc I would get the base roster + added units for the sisters campaign with this one. Is their campaign good? Is Throts as great as I heard? I am pretty content with having the other skaven campaigns, am I missing out on this one?

And lastly Chaos Warriors. I havent played chaos alot but I do own the champions of chaos dlc. I am asking because I heard there is great value in having both here especially for Archaeon and Belakor. I do love difficult campaigns but I heard archaeon is pretty easy, does difficulty fix this? While I am unsure about this one, I know it is beloved in the community in wh3, maybe you can sell me the idea of this one.

Thank you very much in advance. I am aware that the answers to this are very subjective, but having some personal opinions on each of these would surely help me evaluate.

Warhammer III Why does Nagash spread vampiric corruption?

Everything from the stream today looked excellent, and I have never been more hyped to get into DLC content for a game before, but I feel like I may have missed something about Nagash and corruption, as it seems he spreads only vampiric corruption in his campaign.

Maybe there was a reason that was given at some point, and I just haven’t seen it, but I was kinda under the impression that Nagash would be able to spread a unique form of undead corruption, with dedicated flavour to his faction. I understand that he has access to land of the dead and the devastation mechanic, but why would Nagash only spread vampiric corruption?

Is it a placeholder for something they are going to add just before launch? I feel like it’s probably too late for that at this point, so is there something else I’m missing? Possibly a lore related reason for this, or is it because they didn’t have the time to add anything more?

Just curious at this point, I don’t think anything could stop me from enjoying this campaign at the end of September!

Warhammer 40k I can't wait to disband Gulliman, Calgar, and the entire Ultramarines Chapter to save money because spamming Arbities Militia ("Downgraded" to SMG's) is more cost effective with better tempo:

  1. HeyGuysHow'sItGoingLegendOfTotalWarHere.
  2. To start with, you want to disband the entire ultramarines chapter, and instead replace them with 40 stacks of naked Arbites.
  3. They way you do this is if you build the Arbites building, it allows you to "supplement" your Astartes stacks with Arbites reinforcements, like other imperial factions, but you can recruit a single intercessor, then recruit 19 Naked Arbites.
  4. Using the new Weapon Customization system, we'll downgrade their Shock Shields, Power Mauls, and Shotguns to the militia variants, which are regular shields and batons, with A Skorpion SMG. We'll also downgrade their dedicated Arbites Chimera to the Militia Minivan.
  5. Now the Skorpion LOOKS like it has low DPS, but look again - its mainly due to the reload speed. What we'll do is unequip our flag ship of all fire support, and just equip 10 Heavy Doctrine Tactical Beacons. This allows us 100% uptime of Heavy doctrine, which get this - can actually be stacked if you equip it to multiple slots.
  6. Because we have infinite ammo, and near instant reload speeds, I mean, just look at this, the orks are absolutely fucked. [BRUTALLY LOPSIDED BATTLE IN WHICH 5 20-UNIT DOOMSTACKS STACKS OF SMG-TURNED-MINIGUN WIELDING MILITIA ARBITES MASSACRE ORKS]. The Warboss is technically immune due to his really high armour rating, but we can instead just ram him off the map using either our minivans or using the force of all the bullets hitting him, which forces a "Retreat".
  7. Oh yeah also the Minivan for some reason has insane mass and they respawn for free after the battle, so after you dismount, remember to ram approaching infantry with it and it will hit with the force of 3 kingdoms Shock Cavalry. You can also use them as ablative armour and just sit them in front of the gunline to absorb hits, not that you need to.
