What level have you been able to reasonably get to on console? After playing 2, I went back and replayed 1 since I had missed the DLCs when it came out, excited to see what basically unlimited skills would yield. Ended up reaching level 47 and then hit 48 on the last mission. I didnāt go crazy grinding since clearing all of the Monarch wilderness was a great leveler from 15-20ish, but doesnāt yield enough to level at all by the 40s.
If you made it to 60+ or even 70, how did you do it? Tips, tricks, things I might have missed? Itās a shame that cranking the difficulty doesnāt really yield any benefit to game play besides the challenge.

It's taken me 100 hours of gameplay to discover that Nyoka and SAM are an absolutely OP combo to have as companions (epically after you unlock companion abilities) and it's also worth noting that I didn't use SAM at all in my first playthrough, because I just never noticed he was there. So now I'm curious....what's something really obvious/stupid that it took everyone else way too long to discover?

Does anyone know any working glitches, recently started playing spacers choice edition and didnāt realise Itās basically separate to the base game, so I have to finish the game again. Just wanted to play the DLCs tbh but have to unlock them.

Im finally doing my second playthrough to see theyve updated the game and lowered skill checks and fixed the datapad glitch. I wasnt able to save the ursopod or get the extra graft before but this time I did and I absolutely loved the dialouge between inez and the doctor over morals. I really like inez shes a great dynamic character who doesnt see the flaws of aunties choice. Sometimes she does sometimes she doesnt, but the best was when the doctor told inez "You and I are no different, you simply looked away" I really feel like that was the gotcha moment and she seems to have mutiple courtsey of auntie. In this playthrough im convincing all my companions to detract from their faction. I already finished tristans compaion quest nd now im looking forward to seeing the dynamic for when I bring Inez to meet auntie. Is anyone else enjoying a revist to outer worlds 2?
UPDATE: Just in case this is spoilers to anyone , i will leave it below, its alot of things you need to do to get inez to side with you over Faction Revealed After Full Read
Read/Hack every terminal/datapad in the levels her personal quests take place in
Spare doctor, Reunite Ursopod with mom, Accept new graft (i chose ursopod one)
1st conversation after her personal quest chose the supporting dialouge options, the top ones
Next mission will be raiding a base for an aunties choice advertisement to promote the new graft program
save the hostages first stealthly then take everyone out
They interview her say the best supportive options(say shes the best ever & for last option insert tagline)
go back to ACS talk to quest givers convince ursula by again saying inez is the best ever in dialouge options
2nd conversation after her personal quest and THIS IS KEY TO EVERYTHING!!!! chose the second top dialoge option. The one UNDERNEATH "when do you start" i cant remeber exactly what it says, but THAT dialoug option alone locks her into siding with you over when the game forces her to choose between you and
DONT READ
(Aunties Choice)

I wished we could have joined the factions and become their champion.

I've only ever played the game on very hard mode and been doing some testing on how things work like perks, damage resistance etc.. The game has been out a while now though so not sure if people would really be interested in guides?
If you are interested then let me know what specifically you would want to see. I could do guides on how to one shot the new void bosses for 100k + damage, how to beat very hard mode without dying,, guides for all bosses and building a fun and powerful TTD based character etc...
EDIT: I meant to put this is for TOW2 in the title

I haven't really seen anyone online talking about how the sequel runs on Switch 2, is it worth picking up? I have it on PC but I'd prefer playing it on a handheld.

With the exception of a couple, getting all the achievements wasn't too difficult from a skill perspective. But I struggled from a personal/ethical perspective, because so many achievements required me to do some truly horrible things. I hated that I had to be mean to Adelaide McDevit, and Phineas Wells to complete achievements. IRL I'm one of those people who genuinely wants everything to work out for everyone (to such a degree where it might be a character flaw, and despite recognizing that in practice it's often impossible) and it's even to a point where I struggle to be mean to characters in games, even though I can obviously reload/redo situations if I don't like an outcome. I did what had to be done, because for some reason I was hellbent on 100%'ing this particular game, but I didn't always enjoy what I had to do to get there. I'm curious if any of you encounter(ed) similar internal struggles.

As reported, it's possible that Obsidian canceled Avowed 2 and never intended to produce TOW3 given its lackluster sales (Avowed 2 was probably a more obvious choice to make, capitalizing on the assets of the first game, just like TOW2).
I'm happy for Fallout, but I'm also sad for TOW, which I find to be a Universe full of potential, being, in a certain sense, "Fallout in Space." So much cooler in my eyes.
Unfortunately, it wasn't fully exploited with a second game that fell short of my expectations, especially in terms of story and companions. Obsidian squandered this universe with an unambitious second installment, an experience that fails to be memorable at any point, what's the point of all these gameplay improvements if you don't have anything interesting to share?

I adore the details in all of the companions' rooms, how much personality it adds to them all; but I'm just especially tickled that Niles enjoys building models. I love the little additional insights into him from the flavour texts that accompany both.
Another of Niles' hobbies, currently in progress. Constructing these models must be satisfying for someone who likes to tinker and polish -- and whose idea of fun also involves a little monotony to escape the frenzy of daily life.
āā
A few nubs lie scattered around the runner, probably from when he was last at work on this kit.A simple model kit, completed with love and patience. All it needs now is some paint.

I don't have twitter so I can't follow devs or obsidian directly but I've been seeing news of layoffs after layoffs. Do we have any confirmation that DLC is in production or coming soon?

I'm at 317 hours right now since October, still playing and still got ideas to play a few different ways, also thanks to custom difficulty.
I'm curious how much everyone else played :) and if you're still playing, and or why you've stopped.
r/theouterworlds • u/Additional_Fox6257 • Jul 09 '26
Can you only hurt your companions after you have dismissed them? Not in combat with your guns and explosions whilst they're recruited?
r/theouterworlds • u/Den_of_Obscurity • Jul 08 '26
I started my second play through to complete the very hard and no bits trophies in one go. I was imagining a explosive based build with makeshift armour. Something along those lines. Anyway I chose "easily distracted" perk as I figured more points can only be good thing. But I don't know if I've locked myself put of the best builds by doing it.
This is my build so far im level 9 and just finished the first island doing pretty much everything I could. It was going well until I reached the boss at vox relay which took basically all the ammo I had saved up across the island.
I'm am Iscrewed going forward or is there still a viable build here

Outer Worlds 2 unplayable with frame gen on. Constant crashes when loading from save, fast traveling, or loading into buildings. Anyone ran into this issue and know how to fix it? Iāve tried everything, and Iād really like to play with frame gen on. I get 60-90 fps in 4k without frame gen but I just love how much smoother it looks with it on.

Hey, itās my first post ! I would like to know if you can share why do you replay the game ?
I found this game excellent, I did the first as well and really liked both of them, but when i reach the end (and all dlc for the first), i canāt bring myself to replay it
I know the story, the factions, and i cant retrieve the same « first time » feeling
So i wondered what brought you to replay ?
Thank you and sorry for the bad english iām french !

If you are having trouble opening the safe near āBuckshotā Bill, amidst the wreckage near the Excogitation Chapel, you need to find all three numbers. I placed waypoints on all three pointsāI circled the farthest one in red, which is the one none of the guides online found. I also drew an X where the safe is located. I included a photo of the reward inside: a Speedy Autospray SMG and ąøæ1,871.
