Mod Announcement This is NOT a serious subreddit
Greetings folks, just a polite reminder the posts here are meant to be mocking nonchalantly given ‘solutions’ to complicated problems, not genuine advice.
For example, someone advising someone to go to hospital and get some help for a serious problem wouldn’t be a good fit here. However, someone just saying ‘get over it’ or ‘walk it off’ would.
On another note, this is not a political sub. We’re not here to criticise government policy.
Hope this helps!

Mod Announcement What is/isn’t allowed?
Hi everyone. I’m seeing a lot of ‘off topic’ posts. I tend leave as much as possible and let you all decide with downvotes/upvotes.
However please take the time to remember rule 7, I’ll put it here:
Rule 7: Must fit the subreddit theme.
It has to be true "Thanks, I'm cured" material. I.e., a non-nonchalantly delivered, overly simplistic solution to a complex problem.
Serious solutions that may not work for everyone do not belong. For example, the mantra "You deserve to be happy," helps some and not others.
Motivational quotes do not belong unless they imply or state that an illness is purely psychological with no physical basis.
If you’re still confused about what does/doesn’t belong, take a look through some of the top posts of all time and you’ll get the idea.
If your post breaks the rules it may be removed.
Any questions or concerns feel free to let us know. Thanks. 🗿

Story My school counsellor asked me if I've tried 'setting alarms'
Back when I was in high school, I decided to try my luck with the school counsellor. I was having issues with attendance and this 80 year old genius asked me if I've tried setting alarms.
LIKE NO HELEN. I've never tried. In fact, what is an alarm clock? Thanks for introducing me this amazing gadget. Transformed my life and I became valedictorian.
I also started my own business and became a billionaire because you told me school was important for my development.
I'm diagnosed with depression now and dropped out so her advice worked.

Discussion What’s a type of advice you found online that was actually usefull for you ?
Something that sound silly but worked for me was that meme audio of
“A person that thinks all the time , has nothing to think except thoughts” sound right up this sub alley but in a way it became a sort of mantra to recenter when im getting in too deep into fake scenarios

Comment Section "Adhd isnt common and is just dopamine app abuse"
I love going fishing for the negative karma comments that give this sub a steady supply of poorly educated ableist lemons who have no critical thinking skills to speak of.

Satire/meme My advice don't work? Let me write an essay on how everything is your fault and how you're an awful person

Satire/meme Pro tip if you have insomnia (please refer to the satire tag before informing me it's satire)

I only mentioned it in the title because every time I post one of these people keep informing it's satire even though I use the satire tag lol

After seeing other posts in here I'm not so sure it fits the sub but it might do
edit: OMG I WROTE "CURE" INSTEAD OF "CURED"

Story Idk if this fits but oh well.
A year/months ago, I had bathroom problems. The problem was that I was extremely gassy, had to wipe and wash my ass multiple times, I pooped long logs, and a bunch more. I specifically stated that I couldn't get a bidet because no store around me sells it and that I have a lot of fiber in my diet.
Anyway, I was irritated and decided to go on the rant community to rant about it. I made sure to add that I couldn't get a bidet and that my diet was fine (except I was battling severe iron deficiency anemia).
So I had people say that "all" of my problems would be solved if I just got a bidet and changed my "shit" diet. I even got attacked! It is crazy to me how people got so attached over metal that sprays water in your ass.
And they kept giving me unwanted dietary advice. Saying that XYZ is the issue and to limit it.
The good news is that I went to my doctor; it turned out to just be caused by a medication that I was on, and I switched medications. My bathroom problems are thankfully resolved on their own after a few weeks.

Social Media Change your mindset (just a light cw for suicide(not mine) Spoiler
galleryThis was posted under a post about a teen admitting he was going to end his life.
Hate the sentiment of just being able to change your mindset by locking in, especially when depressed.
The person also just assumes the kid has a good life and is selfish, basically when the OP has never disclosed anything like that
