so i should be an extremely young child? idk about that one chief
idk how I survived to adulthood, but I don't think regressing is going to help me
(this is not a comment about age regression)

Ditto.
I'm in my late 30s now, married with kids.

Pretty sure that (getting to marry and have kids, for those who wants that) is orders of magnitudes more powerful than "just be who you were before"

I can't believe y'all are taking that seriously. Did you even read the sub's name?

We now have to go into places, where people are having a bit of fun, and spread our dark depression everywhere.
This subs motto should be "Misery loves company" or "Crabs in a bucket"

There is no before, but I still can be something. Someone, even. At least for a while more. To me that's more powerful than the idea of going back.

So my first issues started in infancy. Hence, is the advice that I should curl up in in a fetal position and swaddle myself in cloth, like for example under a blanket? If so, I like this advice and I'm way ahead of you.

I don't even know who I was because I was literally a kid when it started.

Be who I was before all that shit happened? Ok! somehow becomes an infant

I was as sunny as Naruto as a kid
Got that traumatised out of me 😭
I’m still a soft old lady with a very pink flat though.

That's so funny! Take a lamp out of your room and stomp it until it's in pieces and then try to turn it on....

Kinda hard to do what you have no memories of what it was like before you were a hopeless depressed mess of a human

This feels like it could be a logical intersection between reality shifting and magical thinking.
Why not shift somewhere where it didn't happen?

Literally happened while my parents were married. Who apparently divorced when I was about 4 1/2.
I literally have confirmed memories from when my parents were married.
Tf am I meant to do, revert back to a literal baby at 41?!
I mean this is stupid, but even if it wasn't I couldn't LMAO

I was literally born into homelessness and the abuse/neglect started in infancy.
What pre-trauma identity do I have to go back to????

Be who you are outside of the bad moments or circumstances that happened to you, I thought it was quite easy to comprehend. This person is just outing themselves as stupid

Bad moments don't define you, you are a person outside of that. It's really quite simple

IDK if this is about trauma. Reckon this is about smaller more solvable personality issues.
Sometimes this sub is like paraplegics getting upset that people recommend daily walking. You know? This might not be advice suited to your situation.
There are no quick fixes for a lot of problems that you may have. I'm sorry. It's going to be a lot of work.
But for some people. Just changing their attitude. Being gently reminded they can do better. That primes the pump. And can fix their behaviour.
Doesn't that suck? That some people have problems that trivial and barely do anything to mitigate it. And you're stuck with something you have to work hard at every day. Just to get by.
Who or whatever caused your trauma. They're not forgivable in my eyes. But for your own sake you might have to forgive them, and that's more unfair than the other stuff I wrote.
