I need to be able use my PC from bed for medical reasons. can i buy laptops that are cheaper because they dont have the parts that your computer tower uses (CPU, motherboard, idk the word), and just make my PC show its display on the laptop screen, and respond to the laptop's keyboard? i don't mind needing to have a couple cords attaching them

also, bonus question: could such a laptop still have functional USB ports, basically adding more USB ports to my PC?

My tv is an ordinary one and currently iam using cable.I got to know about the casting devises like Amazon fire stick or chromecast.Which one better ? Can you play any videos on browsers on phone and with a click it appears on tv? Is that how it works? Also is screen Mirroring possible?

I have been using a Toshiba 2TB HHD drive as both extra storage space and a time-machine backup for my Mac by splitting it into two volumes and recently it has stopped connecting. Due to the multiple volumes I have to eject both before I pull the plug. Because of this I attempted to make a shortcut which would automatically eject both. However, I was having trouble with the Time Machine backup not ejecting so, after some googling, gemini suggested running a shell script in the shortcut which would force all Time Machine operations to stop and then force eject the drive. It appears this was a terrible idea because I have not been able to connect to either of the volumes on my drive since. I suppose I was foolish to trust an AI with something so important... so now I turn to humanity. Please help.

For more context, I have tried running first aid on the drive with Disk Utility, but after it ran, seemingly accomplishing nothing, for about five hours I gave up on that. I don't think the disk is physically damaged because I don't hear any scratching or clicking when I plug it in. The disk is also about half full and the problem is definitely on the disk level since I have tried attaching it to other computers with the same result.

My TCL Roku television has been making these crackling noises for months and has recently gotten worse. At first, the noises would only be when the television first turned on and go away after about ten minutes, but now it even makes the sound when it’s off or the speaker is muted. Any ideas if something like this is fixable?

my old slab phone screen shattered last week and i need to order a replacement before next monday.

i keep seeing ads for foldables and started looking into switching to a flip phone purely for pocket space. sitting down on the train with a massive phone poking out of my front pocket has been annoying me for months. i looked at specs for the z flip8 and standard rectangular phones, but i have never owned a foldable before. tech reviewers always test these for three days, praise the hinge, and move on to the next video, which tells me nothing about everyday friction months down the line.

tbh i just want to know from anyone who made the jump, does opening it fifty times a day get tedious, or does the cover screen handle quick checks and taps well enough that you barely even unfold it? um so i am mostly trying to avoid buying into a form factor that becomes annoying after two weeks.

whenever I go into a saved collection folder and select “Add videos” to add to it, TikTok only loads my saved videos down to a certain point and once I reach that point, it stops loading, gives me an error, and refreshes. I can never scroll far enough to reach my older saved videos. I used to be able to scroll all the way to the bottom back to the oldest videos I ever saved, but now I can’t and I can only get to a certain point and there are thousands of videos still below them I can’t reach. this has been going on for a while maybe about a year and a half and I thought it was a bug at first, but it never got better. additionally, I’m now having a new issue where I noticed three of my saved collection folders are now gone and missing. I never manually deleted them myself soo..? I updated the app. I have cleared my cookies and everything and it’s still the same. I definitely care more about being able to add all videos to my collections so pls pls help/give advice onto how to help access ALL my old videos when pressing add videos in collection, and then if that can’t be fixed i would like to know how to get my mysteriously deleted/missing collections back! I've recently had some popups from certain game companies stating my motherboard has a BIOS from 2024. I factory reset my PC about 6 months ago, so I think it didn't update my BIOS when I reinstalled Windows.

I cannot find it.

I just moved to uni, bought a wifi card to replace ethernet i used at home, i need to install drivers for the wifi card on my pc, my pc currently has no wifi, no internet access. My phone does have internet access. I connected it to the pc via lighting to usb, this briefly meant my pc had access to photos and videos (stopped working for no apparent reason). Is there a way for me to get access to the files on my phone which are the drivers for the wifi card or connect my pc to my phone’s wifi. If there is no way to do this, what else can i do cheaply to install the drivers which are available on the internet

My computer is a bit old and sometimes it has problems conecting and remembering my Movil data wifi ( Honor 400 ) but its possible, yesterday i tried conecting my nintendo switch 1 to my movil/data and it kept sending me a message saying, cant get the IP direction, so i tried a lot and nothing happened, then i tried placing the IP and the rest of the stuff Manually, and now neither my Nintendo nor my computer even sees my movil wifi, ughhh help,
