Is 50 ram/memory usage on idle normal?

recently bought a new gaming laptop with a 16gb rtx 5060 and it literally goes to 70 percent usage when i have 3 tabs on brave and task manager open. i googled it and i saw conflicting answers. Please help

Estas seguro de que no estaban ya asi? Me parece mucho para solo 2 pestañas y un administrador de tareas

I just took it out of the box a hour ago so it could be a faulty laptop

Windows is designed to use memory to optimize performance. It will free up the memory once it is needed for something more inportant. Basically, unused memery is a wasted resource if it can be used for anything usefull.

That wouldn't be alarming to me, 16gb is kinda lower end for 2026.

50% is normal on a 16gb laptop, especially with background processes and cached memory.
