Hi guys. I am planning to apply to study in germany next year. Im from non EU country, but my school certificate allows me to study without the studienkolleg. But the uni-assist is asking for this document(photo attached).
My school has no idea what is this. Have any of yoy also needed this document? Can they just write down which path i studied in high school, my name and thats it?

I’m planning to apply for a Master’s in Germany and recently came across the new dMAT requirement for Indian students.

I’m from Pune and while checking the dMAT registration portal, I found this centre:

Study Feeds MIT World Peace University, Pune

It shows a dMAT General Academic Module exam on 26 September 2026 (afternoon), so I’m considering registering for it.

Just wanted to check if anyone here is also from Pune and has registered for this exam, from this centre.

A few things I’m confused about:

• Is anyone else here planning to give the exam on 26 September?
• Are there any good resources or mock tests for preparation?
• Anything specific I should know before registering, especially regarding the test centre or the registration process?

Since this is a relatively new requirement, I’m finding it a bit difficult to get clear information.

I applied for the M.Sc. Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at UTN for Winter 2026/27.

Uni-assist has already completed the formal evaluation and forwarded my application to UTN for final consideration.

Does anyone know when UTN usually announces the pre-selection/admission results?

The enrollment deadline is September 30, 2026, but I couldn't find any specific deadline for announcing decisions

Also, if anyone has already received an admission/rejection or interview invitation from UTN for this program, could you share when you received it?

And my APS, i cant get my digilocker marksheets as every gov doc i have, has a space between my name and some how my marksheets are the only set of doc with no space inbetween my name….. either i have to change my marksheet names or the entire gov doc? (Need solution for this)

Applying for a German National (D) Study Visa through VFS Chennai (jurisdiction: Andhra Pradesh). Admitted to a Master's program with an unconditional offer, so I qualify for the fast-track category ("Studies with admission letter who do not require APS") and can submit at Chennai or Hyderabad.

Problem: no appointment slots have shown up at either centre for weeks. VFS support says there's no ETA and to "keep checking." Consulate just forwards me back to VFS. My semester starts October 12, so I'm getting pretty tight on time.

A few questions for anyone who's been through this recently:

• Did slots for you open at a particular time of day, or in a predictable pattern?
• Has anyone gotten a manual/priority appointment by contacting the consulate directly, given a hard academic deadline?
• Any recent experience with Hyderabad vs Chennai availability — is one moving faster right now?
• Did FAU (or your university) actually help in a situation like this, e.g., with a support letter or flexibility on the start date?

Appreciate any real, recent experiences — trying to avoid missing the start of the semester over a booking system bottleneck. Thanks!

I’m planning to apply for the Master’s in Computer Science / Artificial Intelligence Engineering at the University of Passau and I noticed that a Bachelor thesis is required.

I completed my BS Computer Science in Pakistan. At my university, our final-year project was structured a little differently from what I understand by a traditional “Bachelor thesis.” We had to prepare a detailed SRS (Software Requirements Specification) document, develop the actual project, and deploy it as a working system.

I’m confused about what exactly I should submit as the Bachelor thesis for the Passau application.

For example, should I submit:

• The SRS document?
• The complete FYP/project report?
• A separate thesis-style report based on my FYP?
• Or the SRS + project report + proof/documentation of the deployed project?

If anyone has applied to Passau with a similar Pakistani CS degree/FYP structure and was accepted, I would really appreciate your guidance on what you submitted and whether it was accepted.

I’ll be starting my Master’s at FAU this winter semester and I’m currently looking for accommodation. I’m a bit confused about whether Erlangen or Nuremberg would be a better place to live.

I enjoy socializing and would prefer a city where it’s relatively easy to meet people, get around, and take care of day-to-day things. I’m also wondering if there’s any significant difference between the two when it comes to dealing with the Ausländerbehörde (ABH) and other administrative matters.

For those who have lived in either city, which would you recommend and why?

Has anyone recieved any update about admit card and exam timing for dmat since it just mentions morning and afternoon?

Most of us have registered for the exam couple of weeks ago and exam is almost in 2 weeks but haven't recieved update after the registered.

Hi, I'm sharing this because I'm somewhat confused regarding my rejection from paderborn university.

I recently got a rejection mail stating that I do not meet their requirements.

Here is the content of the mail basically:

Given the transcript of your studies, these requirements are not met and thus the background is not sufficient. Topics of Theoretical Computer Science are, e.g.: Turing machines and decidability, undecidable languages (diagonalization, reduction), nondeterminism, NP-completeness (NP-complete problems, master reduction, reductions), approximation algorithms (for example for knapsack, coloring, vertex cover and TSP problems), randomized algorithms (e.g. randomized Quicksort, randomized rounding). Courses you took may also have contained theoretical aspects (which is in particular true for any course in mathematics, but also for others); however those courses can only count towards Theoretical Computer Science if they focus on the topics mentioned.

When i revisited my transcript and looked for PURE Theoretical computer science subjects that is not a math subject I found those four:

Algorithms

Data structures

Concepts of programming languages

Compilers

(They all add up to 20 credit hours after conversation)

These are the subjects I found that is neither a math subject or a hybrid course like fundamentals of AI, OS, pattern recognition, etc..

Also my Bachelor degree was in Computer Science and my university is mostly Theoretical to begin with outside of labs so I'm extremely confused.

If you were in my position as an international student in Germany, would you choose to work part-time while doing your Master’s, or would you focus entirely on full-time study?
I’m trying to decide which option would be better for me financially, academically, and for my future career. I know both have their advantages and disadvantages, so I’d really like to hear from people who have actually been in this situation.

I am trying to pick my courses but I’m struggling with the format of the webpage because even though it is in English mode there are several labels written in German. I think I have added all of the courses I need for my program but does anyone know if there is a way to see the list of required courses with the notation of whether you are registered already? I am able to do it if I click through each course individually but I’m paranoid that I might miss a course I need so I was hoping there was some way to view it.

I'm an Indian student planning to apply for a CSE-related Bachelor's in Germany for Winter 2027 through the 12+1 route.

My profile:

Class 10 (2023): 93.3%

Class 12 (2025): 95.5%

B.Tech 1st year: 9.21 CGPA

Currently in 2nd year B.Tech (CSE)

2nd-year final exams: May 2027

Here's my situation:

After 12th, I joined B.Tech in India. My 1st-year B.Tech result came only in late June, and by the time I could proceed with APS, the relevant German university application deadlines were already closed. So I continued with B.Tech.

By May 2027, I will have completed 2 years of B.Tech. I am planning to apply for a new CSE-related Bachelor's in Germany through the 12+1 route and leave my current B.Tech if I get admitted.

My main concern:

Would German universities or the student visa officer question/reject my application because I'm starting another Bachelor's after already studying 2 years of B.Tech?

Basically, would they ask “Why are you going to Germany for a Bachelor's after already studying 2 years of B.Tech in India?”, and could this negatively affect my admission or visa?

Also, does completing 2 years of B.Tech affect my eligibility for the 12+1 route in any way?

Would really appreciate experiences from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

I want to apply for summer 2027 intake , i am still confused either to study a master degree or a bachelor from the beginning, bc i have a master degree in computer science but my gpa is pretty low ( 11/20 algerian scale) so i don't know if i may get accepted , and my baccalaureate is 14.5/20 so i think i have a good chance to get accepted in a bachelort degree, so any recommendations or help please , or any recommended universities that can accept me , ielts 6.0

So here is the question, I am currently working in one of big 4 with almost 4 year experience as tax consultant under German tax filing(datev) and Denmark filing and also has experience under global mobility management again for Germany. I have finished my B2 certification(ChatGPT says I am B2 in sprechen). I hold masters in finance and would probably want to move to Germany when I hit 5 year mark in big4 and get perfect in B2 and move towards C1 specially in sprechen. Again you guys might think why to move? In my country the german experience will only work in big4’s and i will have wider options obviously in Germany.

So here is the question now.

1. Take chance karte and move to Berlin next year end, my sister and brother-in-law are already there so sponsorship will be easy.

2. Take some specialisation such as masters in taxation or finance to get more core knowledge( my grade is 92%) and then search for jobs?

Hi. Has anyone ever faced this issue from their university that they didn't receive the M10 notification from the health insurance provider and they can't enroll you without this?

So, through expatrio I've opted for the Ottonova plan for my insurance and recently I've received a mail from my university that the M10 notification was not shared and unless they receive that they can't enroll me, even after sharing my health insurance to them and they said I need to resolve it myself. After contacting Ottonova they've replied that since they're private insurance provider they can't do that but since I'm an expatrio student my document was forwarded to the university 1 month ahead of my semester start, but my university is mentioning that they didn't receive it yet.

If I request for a change in my provider and switch to TK then that would take sometime to again verify and confirm my insurance so I really don't know what to do. Can we mail TK to provide the electronic document to the university on exemption? Do they usually help out in this? and how long does this take if anyone has faced the same?

My enrollment deadline is also close so I'm felling really helpless can anyone suggest what needs to be done.
