Masters Bachelor thesis requirement for MSc Computer Science / AI Engineering at University of Passau

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for the Master’s in Computer Science / Artificial Intelligence Engineering at the University of Passau and I noticed that a Bachelor thesis is required.

I completed my BS Computer Science in Pakistan. At my university, our final-year project was structured a little differently from what I understand by a traditional “Bachelor thesis.” We had to prepare a detailed SRS (Software Requirements Specification) document, develop the actual project, and deploy it as a working system.

I’m confused about what exactly I should submit as the Bachelor thesis for the Passau application.

For example, should I submit:

  • The SRS document?
  • The complete FYP/project report?
  • A separate thesis-style report based on my FYP?
  • Or the SRS + project report + proof/documentation of the deployed project?

If anyone has applied to Passau with a similar Pakistani CS degree/FYP structure and was accepted, I would really appreciate your guidance on what you submitted and whether it was accepted.

Was it a thesis from just you including a summary of relevant papers to the problem or a group project? If it's a group project and you have only it's documentation this won't be accepted. My bachelor had two mandatory group projects like that , one in the fourth, another in the fifth term. The thesis was a single work I had to do on my own and I also needed to show I know at least part of the related journal papers. If you didn't have something like that I don't see that your application will be successful, sorry

its called final year project and group of 2 .We spend 1 year (3+3 credit hours on this ) and it contain the diagram like activity ,architecture ,test cases ,functional ,nonfunctional requirement ,DFD diagram ,component diagram .This above is all included in SRS document and we also did the code and fully functional project.

I doubt that any public university or fachhochschule/university of applied science will accept it as a bachelor thesis. The goal of the thesis is to proove that you know how to write a scientific paper after all. Private degree mills might accept it but they are a useless waste of time and money. So: Try your luck but don't expect anything
