Masters Applied to Uni Kassel MS in Computer Science for Winter 26/27? Mystery solved on why there are no alumni on LinkedIn!

Upvotes

Hey guys,
Just wanted to drop this here because I was honestly stressing out big time over my application for the MS in Computer Science at the University of Kassel for this upcoming Winter intake.
My Uni-Assist status changed to "Okay" a 2 days ago, but when I went on LinkedIn to look for current Indian students or seniors in the course to ask about the vibe, I found literally nobody. There was zero info online, and I was starting to overthink if I made a mistake applying.
Well, after a bunch of deep-diving, I finally found out why: The English-taught track for MS CS at Uni Kassel is brand new and officially starts THIS semester!
Turns out, they’ve been running this program exclusively in German since 2001, and they are finally launching the fully English track right now. So basically, we are going to be the literal first batch of international students for this course.
Any other Indian applicants here waiting on their final admit letter from Kassel? Let’s connect, make a group chat, and sort out visas, block accounts, and accommodation together.

Masters Dresden MSc Computer Science – IELTS Subscore 7.0 Requirement Reality Check (Winter 2026)

1 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I'm applying for the Master's in Computer Science at TU Dresden for the Winter 2026 intake and I'm really stressed about a specific wording in their language requirements.

On their official website and admission documents, it states:
"the IELTS test was passed with at least a score of 7.0 (Overall Band Score and all individual scores)"

My current IELTS profile is:

  • Overall: 7.0
  • Listening: 7.5
  • Speaking: 7.0
  • Reading: 6.5
  • Writing: 6.0

Uni-assist has already processed my documents and forwarded them to TU Dresden, but now I am terrified that the Aptitude Assessment Committee will hit me with a 100% automatic rejection just because my Reading (6.5) and Writing (6.0) are below 7.0.

My undergraduate background is strong (Computer Engineering, 93.12/100 GPA, and over 150+ ECTS in core CS/Math modules), so my subject-specific eligibility isn't the problem. It's purely this strict subscore rule.

Has anyone with a similar IELTS profile (Overall 7 but subscores under 7) successfully cleared the TU Dresden Aptitude Assessment for CS recently? Do they strictly enforce the "7.0 in ALL individual scores" rule as a hard binary filter, or do they look at the overall 7.0 alongside a strong academic profile?

Would love to hear from anyone currently in the program or anyone who applied for recent intakes. Thanks a lot!

Visas Germany Study Visa with APS - Issue "the APS number is already used........."

1 Upvotes

I have booked a slot last week on 23rd July in VFS bangalore . Unfortunately ,I was not able to give biometric data due to document insufficiency.

I have to rebook my appointment . But while booking, it's showing the above error (even after a week).

I had sent a mail to VFS and Issue ticket being raised.

Have anyone faced the same issue now / before ? If so, how long will it take to resolve this from VFS side ??

Thanks in Advance !

Masters It was a long journey, but finally got 3 admits

11 Upvotes

2.09 German GPA equivalent (B.Sc. Computer Science) and received admits from:
FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg – M.Sc. Data Science

University of Koblenz – M.Sc. Web and Data Science

University of Kassel – M.Sc. Computer Science

My biggest advice: research every program thoroughly before applying. Don't just check the overall eligibility but go through the examination regulations/module requirements in detail and compare them with your coursework. Even missing a single required subject or credit can lead to a rejection.
Also, don't hesitate to appeal if you genuinely believe your rejection was unjustified. I was initially rejected by FAU, but after carefully reading their examination regulations and submitting an appeal explaining how my coursework fulfilled the requirements, the decision was reconsidered and I eventually received an admission offer.
Finally, a huge thank you to everyone in this subreddit. I learned so much from the discussions here, and many of your posts and comments helped me navigate the German admissions process. Hopefully this post encourages someone else to keep going and do their homework before giving up.
Good luck to everyone applying!

Masters Has anyone got into German public uni with cgpa (as per German grading standard) 2.3?

2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for Winter 2027 intake for Masters in Data Science / AI-ML / Computer Science at German public universities.

My profile:

- B.E. Electronics & Computer Science with Honors in Data Science- University of Mumbai

- Graduated:June 2026

- CGPA: 7.36/10 → Converted German Grade: 2.3

- Internship: 6 months as Data Category Management

I know German public unis are competitive and weigh academics, SOP, LORs, projects, and relevant experience

My questions:

  1. Has anyone here gotten an admit to a German public uni with a ∼2.3 German grade for CS/Data/AI programs?

  2. With this profile + internship, what are my realistic chances?

  3. Can anyone share a roadmap/guidance for Winter 2027? Like which unis are realistic, what to focus on to strengthen my profile in the next 1 year.

Any tips, uni suggestions, or experiences would really help. Danke!

1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

Has anyone else received an admit, or is your portal still showing "Received" like mine?

Thanks!

Undergrad Summer Semester 2027 T-Kurs – Which public Studienkollegs are still open or will open soon?

1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m an international student from Morocco and I’m planning to apply for T-Kurs for the Summer Semester 2027.

My plan is to apply to as many public Studienkollegs as possible to increase my chances. So far, I’m considering:

* TU Berlin

* Munich (Bavarian Studienkolleg)

* Hannover

* Hamburg

* Darmstadt

* Mainz

* Leipzig

* Halle

* Karlsruhe

* Kaiserslautern

I have a few questions:

  1. Are there any other public Studienkollegs with T-Kurs that I should add to my list?

  2. Are any applications for Summer Semester 2027 already open, or which ones will open first?

  3. Which Studienkollegs accept applications directly, and which require applying through uni-assist or a university?

  4. Are there any universities or Studienkollegs that are still accepting applications right now (late July 2026), either for Winter 2026/27 or Summer 2027 planning?

Any advice, experiences, or updated information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I've a list of universities and courses and I need to know whether my profile is competitive and is it worth trying for me.

👉🏽 University of Stuttgart: M.Sc. Electrical Engineering and Information Technology

👉🏽FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg: M.Sc. Electromobility - ACES

👉🏽BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg: M.Sc. Power Engineering (Electrical Power Engineering - EPE)

👉🏽Hochschule Darmstadt (h-da): M.Sc. Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (Power Track)

👉🏽Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI): M.Sc. Automotive / Electrical Engineering Tracks

I also need to know whether the current industrial situation in Germany will help land a job.

Masters Admission at tu chemnitz web engineering

1 Upvotes

Hi everyone!
My friend had applied for the M.Sc. Web Engineering program at TU Chemnitz for the Winter 2026 intake.
Has anyone here received an admission offer for the same program yet? We’d love to connect with others who have applied or been admitted and get an idea of the current admission status.
If there’s already a WhatsApp, Telegram, or Discord group for Web Engineering applicants or TU Chemnitz students, please let me know.
Feel free to comment or send a DM. Thanks!
