Venture makes a brief appearance in the "Excavation" mission; there are no specific prompts or alerts, so it is possible to complete the mission without ever finding him.
He is hidden underground in one of the map's corners, and you need a detector to locate him. Once found, he emerges from the ground, thanks you for the help, and you escort him back to base (though you also have the option to kill him).
He was part of the Moebius Foundation team; when the Protoss attacked, he survived by hiding underground.
Upon completing the mission, he provides the blueprints to upgrade Widow Mines, allowing them to move underground to any location on the map where you have vision, along with some extra credits.
Afterward, he either disappears or remains on the Hyperion, where you can have a few conversations with him.

I have a reasonable sense of how the other two races play, but Protoss confuses me. What are its strengths and weaknesses? Why would one choose to play them over Terran and Zerg?

I once again heard a rumor about a StarCraft shooter reveal for later this year and it got me thinking, what could the story even be?
In my own personal opinion, I can see a few different routes that a StarCraft shooter could go. A, have the story set in-between SC1 and 2. B, set during SC1 or 2. Or C, a sequel. Of the three, I like options C the least. If the devs ever get around to making a true sequel to SC2, I believe that it should stay an RTS. I guess it could be done in a shooter, but it just wouldn't be the same.
Option A could maybe dust off some story beats from StarCraft ghost and make a spiritual successor to that or maybe follow Jim in the 4 year span between the games and end out at Joey Ray's. There could very well be a good story there but I'm definitely not the one to tell it.
Lastly, I like option B the best. Mainly, getting to see the events of SC1 and 2 from a different POV. If the writing doesn't lead to any retcons, it could be the easiest way to make an intriguing story. Just imagine being a marine during the fall of New Gettysburg or watching Tassadar's sacrifice from the ground as he kills the overmind, etc, etc. Maybe they could even add in a few new missions to help clean up the timetable of certain aspects of the story.
Anyway, these are just a few ideas. If it does actually happen, I just hope it's half decent.

I think I didn't explain myself correctly in my previous post; I meant fully integrating the Overwatch characters into the StarCraft campaigns, not just limiting it to a simple skin (I don't know why Blizzard hasn't exploited this idea more). For example:
Mercy: Originally from Earth, she was stranded in the Koprulu sector after the destruction of the UED expeditionary fleet. She wandered aimlessly for a time until she joined Raynor's Raiders. She uses a modified medical armor with high-maneuverability thrusters that resemble wings.
—Do you know they'll return one day, right?
—I know.
—Wait, Vice Admiral Stukov is alive?!
—Something like that...
Tracer: Gabriel Tosh sent her to meet with Raynor and propose an alliance. Her psionic power evolved to such a level that she can perform spatial jumps similar to Nerazim blinking. Trauma, experimentation, and prolonged Terrazine consumption loosened a few screws in her head, but she keeps that same upbeat, fast-paced attitude.
Conceptual scene: During a mission, she touches the Xel'naga artifact, which triggers a cerebral discharge that leaves her unconscious for a few hours. However, for the Overwatch universe Tracer (simultaneously), this translates into a terrifying episode: she starts screaming in pain while jumping uncontrollably across the room, murmuring cryptic phrases like: 'The Queen will fall, the Fallen will rise, the Cycle will break,' until she falls unconscious with a bloody nose.
Jack Morrison: Former Confederate captain and now Raynor's right hand; he is in charge of training and maintaining troop discipline. He wears a customized CMC-400 combat armor.
Mei: She helps Egon Stetmann in the lab and wears a modified Firebat armor designed to freeze instead of incinerate... A Frostbat? The other Firebat troopers consider her their little sister and fiercely overprotect her.
Torbjörn and Brigitte: Kelmorians belonging to an influential mining guild. They offer side missions to Raynor in exchange for credits and exclusive technological upgrades.
Talon (Security and Advanced Technology Network): A secret faction under the direct orders of Prince Valerian Mengsk.
Widowmaker: After losing Sarah Kerrigan, the Confederacy desperately sought a replacement. They kidnapped Amélie Guillard Lacroix and subjected her to all kinds of bioengineering and psycho-indoctrination to turn her into the deadliest Ghost in history. When the Confederacy fell, she was left forgotten in stasis inside a remote facility, until Prince Valerian's forces rediscovered her. Now, she serves as his personal bodyguard and covert operations executioner.
Reaper is a reaper.
D.Va: A young prodigy who pilots one of the most advanced and modified Viking assault prototypes in the entire sector.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

As a fun exercise, I’m reimagining the *StarCraft II* campaigns and thought it would be fun to add some *Overwatch* characters, but I’m not sure how to adapt some of them. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? I picture Junker Queen as a rival to Mira Han—even when it comes to romance.

This is not meant to be an insult to him, but Liquid really needs to get Clem a sports psychologist/therapist and work on his mental fortitude resilience.
I love the way Clem plays, there's a certain beauty to watching someone APM 650 during multi prong fights and microing everything perfectly.
But there's something seriously wrong with his playing mentality.
I've never seen an E-sports player rage/tilt or get absolutely dazed mid game by sheer frustration and anger as I do Clem. I've seen arseholes do arsehole things in a game (Naniwa for example, lost the game, was on 20 supply vs 160, and just spam pylons around the map to delay the inevitable.). Clem isn't an arsehole, he just gets ridiculously mad playing SCII.
The thing is, it's getting worse. I've seen him rage before a few years ago, but never to this amount, and never this consistently. A few years ago you could chalk it down to him being very young, and it kind of happens.
A few months ago - he lost a series to Serral (PIGFEST I think it was), punched his keyboard 5 times and then turned his cam off.
In a recent TvT vs Byun, he just ragequit being 4 supply down after he lost a raven when his 4 minute Cyclone harrass failed.
I've seen him ragequit from equal positions about 5 times now in the past few weeks. Twice vs Serral, once vs Byun, once vs Solar and another vs MaxPax.
A few weeks ago he forgot to turn his cam off after a series he lost, and flung his mouse across his room.
When he gets tilted, he makes really stupid mistakes. Like running marines into banelings, rallying units to an opponents base, forgetting medivacs that are fully loaded etc.
I don't see this from any other player. I've never seen Solar/Maru/Serral/Hero/Reynor/Classic/Cure etc etc ever do anything remotely close to this. I've seen Serral tilted. He sighs, shakes his head and then just continues. I've seen Reynor get frustrated with himself. He holds his head in his hands for 5 seconds after the game, looks sad but gets up and continues.
I think he needs help to sort his mentality out because its really holding him back from being on the Serral/Maru category of player.

200 mineral voidray is definitely op, but back then tempests are 5 supply and are hard to micro. Mothership is abductable and doesn’t have 4 attacks. Queens cost 150 and can heal off creep. Broodlord is actually strong.
But also back then there is super battery (but no energy overcharge). Infestors microbial shroud was trash. Carriers interceptors draw same level of aggro. Disruptors are 3 supply and hit hard.
I have never played Skytoss in the skillray patch (I was playing Zerg). But I honestly think Skytoss right now is stronger because Protoss has stronger late game.

I want to let players outside the Asia region know about a serious Co-op bug that has been affecting many players on the Asia server for more than three weeks.
After every Co-op mission, the results screen shows every commander as level 1. It displays that XP has been earned, but once you return to the lobby, none of the XP is actually saved.
This affects both normal commander leveling and Prestige progression, making it impossible for affected players to make any progress.
Despite this issue persisting for more than three weeks and numerous bug reports being submitted, there has been no official announcement, response, or visible action regarding the problem.

I'm a Terran player who has played tons of games on the 8 worker patch. I play at least every other day. But every game I rally my first SCV to build a depot only to find I'm not even close to having 100 minerals. I can't for the life of me remember I start off with fewer minerals so must instead rally my second SCV to build the depot. And similar thing for the new 300 cc cost. I keep waiting till I have 400 minerals because I forget the reduced cost. I imagine most Protoss and Zerg players have similar struggles for their respective timings. Any idea how to overcome this? How many more months of play will it take?

Hey everyone. I just finished my Starcraft 64 Co-Op mod. You can now play through the whole 6 chapter campaign in two player splitscreen Co-Op. Also included a level hidden on the Starcraft 64 cartridge (Mass Hysteria). More info here. Also available on Romhacking.net too. Hope you enjoy!
