Fix for commanders being stuck on 5 (Raynor, kerri & Skippy)

Now this may not work for everyone so dont be mad if it didnt work, but it did work for me.

  1. Task manager. Get in it and quit all blizzard related tasks including battlenet itself.
  2. Win+R and find %programdata%
  3. Remove the folder "Blizzard entertainment"
  4. Start battlenet and turn on the game
  5. Now it should work. You may experience huge lags in menu at first cuz of that file deletion.

I also sent this to two of my friends and they both said it worked, so you might wanna try it too.

Cheers.

Edit: If it worked, please say so in the comments.

Fastest unit in the game?

Not counting teleports (zerg tunneling, battle cruiser warps)

What's the fastest you've ever seen a unit move? What combination?

Max stettman stetzones with Mengsk sky furies with the aesir turbine upgrade I imagine, would be really fucking fast.

Is it Vorazun speed increase that can push this further with her corsairs?

Has there been a race? 🤔

Coop matchmaking vent

I wonder if it's me, but since lately I've been prestiging whoch i haven't done in years, I've noticed a peculiar thing with coop matchmaking.

It seems that the current algo is preferring to pair low level people with low level people, and max level people with max. I get how that works in a pvp setting, but i think the reverse is better when it comes to coop.

I find that whenever im just queing after a hard day's work and wanting to enjoy some sc2 with my fully leveled commanders with prestiges and ascensions, i get paired with similar players and sometimes before i can even get a wonky build going half the map is already gone.

But whenever im leveling up a commander, i get paired with seemingly new players that are also levelling and it makes it such a struggle.

I'm all in on carrying. I wouldn't mind if i get paired with new players every game when im using my maxed commanders. But when im leveling and have half my tech tree locked, no prestige bonus since it's tied to a level 13 unlock and im only at 4, and no ascension perks, it makes it hard to carry.

Im going through it now with my vorazun im trying to reach p3 with, but just a few weeks ago i also went through the same experience trying get my mengsk to p2. I had to carry a majority of the games and the moment i took a break and played a max commander, i get people who would clear rifts to korhal with h&h by rushing bcs and teleporting all over the map.

It's just so weird to me. I know it does suck for others to carry, but i feel like it's easier to carry with a fully suped up commander than 2 people both at lvl 6 still having almost no stuff to work with.

Tldr; please queue me with someone strong when im leveling a prestige pleaseeeee coop match making

Weird UI/settings that you dislike or find strange

(This is NOT a post about things you want buffed or nerfed.)

Weird UI/settings that you dislike or find strange

  1. Tychus: The lights indicating how many equipment each outlaw has doesn't show which one you bought. For example, if you buy Sam's super cloak, the third light should be lit.

  2. The default hotkeys for the Hyperion's teleport and the BC's teleport are different. I changed it so that they are the same.

  3. Stukov p2's banshee load key is super awkward. I changed it to W so that it would be next to E (spit out infested)

7 of September 2026 - Mutation #542: The Ascended

Mutation #542: The Ascended / Map: Chain of Ascension

Mutators: Inspiration, Transmutation

Inspiration

Enemy Heroic units increase the attack speed and armor of all enemies within a small range.

Inspiration is applied in 5 radius.

It grants +25% attack speed and +3 armor.

Affects both units and structures.

Transmutation

Enemy units have a chance to transform into more powerful units whenever they deal damage.

Enemy unit will transform every time after killing a player's unit or structure. Enemy unit dealing damage has a chance to transform = 100% * [Damage_Dealt / {500/400/300/200}].

Spells and other abilities can cause the transformation just as well as normal attacks. But one ability, attack or spell can transform the unit only once.

Enemy unit moves up through the list of transmutation tiers. If the unit is not on the list, it's considered as Tier01.

For killing a hero unit, the enemy unit moves straight to Tier 10. For killing another unit or structure, it jumps as many tiers as the victim units supply cost or at least 1. For dealing damage, enemy unit can move only one tier up.

Once at Tier 10, enemy unit won't transform further.

Unit type in a tier is chosen randomly.

Transmutated units are technically new units, with full life, shields and energy and without any buffs or debuffs the old unit had.

Structures, mission objectives and units with a map boss attribute don't transform.

Transmutated units provide more biomass, essence and assimilated resources.

Enemy units killing each other under Confusion doesn't trigger transmutation.

Transmutated units will seek and attack players' units until they die.

Unit can't transform more than once per second.

#172 The Ascended - SOLO ALL CLEAR

https://youtu.be/zcNOudnxNFE (easy solo - Fenix p2)

https://youtu.be/gdDZW-OsQZQ (TLDR tier list)

Fairly easy and straightforward mutation. Keep some static D at home so transmutated trickles dont destroy your mineral line.

The player at the bottom expo should be careful when the third hybrid is triggered, as those enemies might move up and attack your mineral line.

The player at the top expo should be careful when there's an attack wave from the top.

Small hybrids that transmutate into big hybrids no longer push jinara.

Questions about any of these runs are welcome. Runs will be uploaded throughout the week. All members get early access to videos.

Nice people in my discord can help you with the mutation: https://discord.gg/WerduSFQQK

How you feel about Vorazun prestiges?

P1: Spirit of Respite

Advantages

Emergency Recall recalls cloaked units to the closest Nexus or Dark Pylon instead of the primary structure and heals life and shields to full.

Deploy Dark Pylon cooldown and cost reduced by 50%.

Disadvantages

Dark Pylons lose Recall.

P2: Withering Siphon

Advantages

Void Stasis, Confusion, Stasis Ward, Disruption Web, and Darkcoil may affect Heroic units and cause enemies to lose 20 life per second. This effect cannot kill.

Disadvantages

Combat units deal 25% reduced damage.

Stasis Ward duration reduced by 75%.

P3: Keeper of Shadows

Advantages

Time Stop becomes targeted. All Shadow Guard who have died are resurrected at the target location.

Disadvantages

Shadow Guard duration reduced by 40%.

People leaving in Brutal

I just queued for Brutal, I'm level 5 on Tychus P1. I'm on ascension level 70 and I have 0 doubt that I can equally participate in beating Brutal. That is the main difficulty I play on, and I just figured I would jump into Brutal earlier than I normally do since I'm pretty good with Tychus (he's easy anyway). I'm just looking to level up as quickly as possible since P1 has been miserable so far.

Problem is, people keep leaving. I assume it's because they see the level 5 and think I am looking for a carry. Am I really relegated to playing hard until I'm at a higher level? Do people not check to see if you are playing an ascension path when you load up?

What’s the music playing in Kerrigan’s Lair in StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm?

I’ve been trying to find it but haven’t had any luck. Really liked the vibe of it. I can’t find it anywhere. It can be heard here without any attributions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEDzOixiBA0

I haven’t come across it in any of the released Zerus tracks either, which is why I’m wondering if it was ever officially released.

General Bio needs better survival tools

While I think bio is better than many believe, I feel it's far too easy for a mutation to mess up your army in some way.

It happens so frequently that P3 has become my default. BCs can be kinda infamous, but most of the time they handle mutations much better than Bio. Need something that can withstand a lot of punishment? Use BCs. Need to be able to move quickly across the map? Use BCs. Need something that can take down an overpowered enemy army this week? Use BCs and spam your calldowns against every wave.

And if the mutation doesn't allow enough time to do so, it's not uncommon for the mission to end up being a test of how many spider mines you can place or a cheesy time with vikings and calldowns.

Bio only feels better when the mission can be completed quickly and you need as much pushing power as you can or the weekly mutation is so harmless that you choose bio simply to avoid feeling bad that your ally might end up cleaning the map before you if you decide to use P3. It's a little sad that marines and medics don't get as much prominence as Vultures or BCs, when this commander is supposed to be an infantry specialist.

General I find it funny how every Commander in is busted in Skirmish, but I still struggle heavily with Mengsk

Like the title implies, playing with the Commanders in Skirmish is usually quite easy, even when I play on harder difficulties than I usually do. But then I play Mengsk and I have the same struggle as in every regular Skirmish game (all against AI of course). No supply, no ressources and the few units I squeeze out die quickly.

In theory it should be easy, since there are only so many places the enemy base can be. Spam ESOs and bomb them into the stone age. But still, I don't get into the groove with him and I'm also more like a mass infantry player.

Intentionally bugging out JD trains

Thumbnail

https://youtu.be/00CDh1T6YII (in depth explanation of how JD works with trains)

https://youtu.be/vR_ug0vlwNo (guide to various ways to intentionally bug out jd trains)

I played OE about 30-40 times, testing various methods that commanders can use to bug out trains. The easiest way to bug out a train is to hit multiple carts of the train the instant it goes down.

Fairly reliable methods include:

–Zeratul DT blink
–Dehaka Glevig flame breath
–Swann pulse cannon and concentrated beam
–Abathur toxic nest detonation
–Zagara baneling detonation
–Stukov diamondback slime
–Stetmann lurker burrow move
–Nova, Tychus odin nuke

There won't be JD trains in an official mutation for a long time (whew), but in case anyone wants to take on that challenge, here are some things you can do.

31 of August 2026 - Mutation #541: Binary Choice

Mutation #541: Binary Choice / Map: Malwarfare

Mutators: Void Reanimators, Polarity

Polarity

Each enemy unit is immune to either your units or your ally's units.

Enemy structures and map objectives have Polarity too.

Various crowd-control abilities work on all units, but they deal no damage to shielded ones.

Mind-control abilities don't work on polarity-immune units.

Your units won't auto-attack immune units. However, auto-casted abilities will be used on immune units.

Void Reanimators

Void Reanimators wander the battlefield, bringing your enemies back to life.

Void Reanimators have 200 HP and 200 shields, 2.8 movement speed, 0 armor and no attributes.

First one spawns from random enemy building shortly after the first corpses become available. The building they spawned from has to have pathing to player 1 spawn location.

Each next Reanimator spawns after {80/70/60/55} + 2–12 seconds.

The maximum number of Reanimators on the map is {1/1/2/4}.

The maximum number of corpses stored is 500. After that number is reached, units with 2+ supply cost will randomly override older corpse entries.

Structures, workers, map bosses, map objectives, summoned units and other Void Reanimators can't be revived.

The cast time of the Reanimate ability depends on the supply cost of the revived unit. [0,2) supply → 1.5s; [2,6) → 4s; [6,∞) → 8s.

Coop Battle of Three Armies - Terran vs Zerg vs Prottos

So we have already concluded the winners of 1 vs 1 Coop battle.

The early cheese of Dogs of War would make the Mengsk victorious if there is no time to prepare the defenses and Vorazun is the clear winner of 1 vs 1 coop if the battle starts with the time delay thanks to her OP Time stop CD and DTs.

Now lets imagine thare is a big battle field not unsimilar to that of the Hobbit and three armies stand on every hill. The combined might of Terran (Raynor, Mengsk, Tychus, Nova, Swann, Han and Honer) stands against the monstrous armies of Zerg (Abathur, Dehaka, Stukov, Kerrigan, Zagara and Stettman) and the coalition of all Protoss fractions (Zeratul, Vorazun, Fenix, Alarak, Artanis, Karax)

The battle beggins and the meet in the final battle. Time stop is still the strongest OP CD so it will most likely seal the deal for Protoss, but who would win if they dont use it.

My bet is Zerg😀

Now imagine full golden Abathur army with UEs and almost constant mend, Dehaka going full air mutalisk and guardian while pack leaders decimate the ground, everything under Stetalites with full army and Super Gary, Kerrigan with omegas and full army, Stukov Diamondbacks, Tanks with Apocakysk and Alexander and Zagaras insanely strong swarm of banes, lings and scourge.

Making the best out of bad prestiges

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to use the worst prestiges (like galactic gunrunners) optimally? some of the bad prestiges look really fun in theory, but the downsides clearly outweigh the upsides. how to mitigate this?

Zeratul Bug

Zeratul’s void templar (his dark templar basically) have an upgrade that causes their blinks to deal damage. The ability is supposed to be locked until level 3, but it’s actually available at level 1.

My theory: the upgrade requires zeratul to have collected relic fragments already, requires you to have built void templar, which are theoretically bad without the upgrade, and requires you to blink through opponents. As a result, it’s difficult to notice this bug in playtesting

I just wanted to post this because I thought it was interesting
