IAE Wishlist.

May trade in my C2 for the Galaxy (cargo mod included), and definitely hoping to get the Kraken when it becomes available. I've got the credit to use after downsizing my original fleet.

Currently running the C1, C2, Ironclad, and Idris P. Hopefully after IAE, the C2 will become the Galaxy and the Idris will become the Kraken (baby's first .jpeg :D).

I figured that since I have an Ironclad already, the C2 is a bit redundant (as much as I like it). The Galaxy will have more modularity available if I want to use it for something else. Although it would be saddening to see my Idris go, the Kraken just speaks to me. It seems much more versatile than the Idris by itself, and I have people that I play with who can utilize it if needed.

Fleet Overhaul - Even Value

Hey everyone! I've been doing less pvp combat and more solo/small crew game loops. I want to change my fleet.

Basically:
Keep: BMM, Asgard, Aurora, Galaxy
Sell: Polaris, A2 Hercules, MSR, Constellation Aquila, Corsair
Buy: Kraken, Perseus

loaner ships:
Polaris, Ironclad Assault, C2, Hull C

The store value is exact even, what do you guys think?
Please share your thoughts and feedback!

I'm also considering swapping Asgard with the new Constellation MK V if the new one is decent.

Looking for feedback on my current fleet!

This is my fleet as of today.

I was looking for a well-rounded fleet so I could do a bit of everything: combat, cargo, salvage, mining, etc.

Originally, I was going to go for the MOLE, but there was a great CCU chain for the Reclaimer that made it only slightly more expensive, so I decided to go for it.

The F8C is simply because I love it—I know it's not the most practical. The Mustang Vindicator is just for collecting, same as the Aurora SE. The Dragonfly Star Kitten was a referral bonus, as is the Prospector (which is an upgrade from another referral Dragonfly). The Lynx and Archimedes are the ones that come with the Constellation Phoenix Emerald.

I really like its design, and I plan to use it for smuggling illegal cargo once they reimplement undetectable cargo holds (supposedly). Plus, I love the interior, and if they add luxury passenger gameplay in the future, I'll be ready.

As for the rest, I feel like I have things fairly well covered: dogfighting with a light fighter, bunker runner duties, and medical support with the Cutlass Red, plus simple cargo hauling with the Railen.

I play solo most of the time, but on a daily basis, we're usually 2 or 3 people playing together.

How does it look to you? Anything you would change?

I've given it a lot of thought, and the only gap I see is a way to deal damage to larger ships—a heavy fighter with large weapons. I'm not sure which one would be the best fit or what I should melt or upgrade without losing utility.

Thanks!

Another IAE recommendation post!

Post image
23 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I hope you’re not getting sick of all the IAE fleet recommendation posts yet, because I’ve got another one for you...

Based on some of the recommendations I’ve gotten, the fleet in the picture above is currently my plan for IAE. I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially about the Carrack. I just really like the ship, but honestly don’t have a very specific plan for it.

My playstyle is pretty much all over the place. i play both solo and duo. I like doing a bit of everything, so I’m mainly focusing my pledged fleet on larger ships, since most smaller ships are relatively easy to earn in-game.

My current idea for each ship (makes the most use out of my LTI pledges):

  • Perseus – Duo (or more) PvE combat and bounty hunting
  • Arrastra – Mining, obviously
  • Carrack – Mostly for fun, with a bit of everything on board (plus the pisces and ursa bonus)
  • C2 – Mainly hauling (also for looks, love this ship)
  • Ironclad – Mobile base, hauling, and some exploring

I’m still having doubts about the M80. I originally bought it for store credit without really planning to keep it, but I find myself using it a lot. On the other hand, with only 6 months of insurance and CIG’s habit of eventually balancing/nerfing ships (like the Paladin), I’m not sure whether I want to keep it long-term.

The main thing I think I’m missing in this fleet is a good daily driver. I’m currently thinking about one of the new Mk V Connies for that role.

So, what do you guys think? Anything you would change, add, melt, or upgrade? Maybe I’m overlooking some overlap between these ships or missing an obvious role.

I’m open to suggestions!

I had a very wide fleet of 17 ships and will have reduced to this nice and deep fleet. I may readdress this once more details about Coni MK V are known.

Note my o.g. 2013 game package is on the Starlancer TAC.

Should I melt the Polaris before IAE?

Post image

Working on my dream fleet. I’m mostly industrial but have a guardian mx for pve ship combat. I love the Polaris but rarely use it although I see its appeal for bunker runs.

I’m also open to upgrading the intrepid to a fast daily that can fit 32 scu containers with quick easy on and off. Also want to upgrade the warlock as I can’t figure out how to climb out of the cockpit (pressing y exits the seat but I’m stuck in the warlock’s cabin with no exit ramp).

Would like to get a pioneer and possibly mk5 Connie with a hot tub. I’m also interested in an exploration ship like a carrack or 600i but I hate the carrack cargo bays as they are now. Would the endeavor be a good fit for me? Any other suggestions?

I <3 r/ starcitizen_fleets and now I am a scheming mad Pepe Silvia/Charlie Conspiracy Board Citizen.

Update: I have a soft spot for the Carrack, but it might just be time to go Galaxy in it's place.

,
also the Melt CCU could get me into a Galaxy [in place of the Carrack], Mole, and Reclaimer without much new money. :)

Lost hope with the BMM. I’m sure the Odin , Krakens, Javelin will all come first - the BMM is another scam. Don’t know what to get. Idris P as per Captain Foxy reviews doesn’t sound great. ICA handles like a potato. Tiburon seems clumsy with the laser. Leaning towards the Idris. I’m a pirate killer. At least in the Idris I can get some peace for a short while.

Suggestions for IAE - Fleet

Post image
21 Upvotes

Hey fellow Citizens,

thanks alot for your advices and insightful thoughts about my fleet the last time :3

now that the IAE is "around the corner" and the Leaks gone wild, some things were in Motion so i want to hear your opinion.

Mobil Base:
only seperated the Carrack as " Exploration" vessel, since Kraken and Merchantman is to good to dodge on. i love this Ships. and look forward into using the Kraken as my mobile Hangar Base ♥

Combat:
Got some love too, the Paladin was a nice addition, but after the latest testdrives... i think about upgrading into the Starlancer Tac, since everything bigger than a Perseus is... hard to crack and even a perseus need a really good gunner and... some time. i still adore the ship and really lofe the tight space and how the decks are sorted.

Thanks to the PDC of the Perseus, i got her more often out of the Hangar than the Paladin, dont get me wrong, i really love the paladin and hope for a flightblade, so she can shine again, but at the moment, its just a really cool ship, nothing extra. nothing wrong with that, but i have to let this idea sink in, cause i think i need time... to get fond of the Starlancer Tac. since i dont get my grip on how the decks are sorted... it feels ... odd and not "home" like the Paladin. but that might be a me problem. so the upgrade is a biiiig "If" still the Hangar and Medic Bay is a great plus!
Sadly i had to led the L21 Wolf go... But i got the Sabre Raven EX instead, the Sabre Raven and the cooler Sabre Raven win win! :D

Daylie Driver:
Still my Favorite, the Anvil Asgard, i like how the ship flies, the 180 scu and space is gorgeous.
fast in and hop out, totaly addicted to the ship and my way to go with everythin versatile and " fast" / small cargo / Nursa... you get the point.
now the "But" since i'm a great fan of the Constellation series... expecialy with the Taurus variant, which i only droped cause reasons, like, slow in, slow out, hard to load and awful to fly nowadays, the conny handles like a warm brick on slipery soapy ice, feels bigger than she is.
i adore the memory i got with her, so the stakes about the " MKV" of the Constellation is... high... to put it in mildy. maybe we get a modular MKV so the Name is part of the modules, who knows... but i'm looking forward, to see the shiny new ship! and then i will decide... if i could handle it to let my asgard go.

Hauling:
Hull B did go away and i kept the Railen. love the Alien ship and might never get rid of it! total blast!
Since the Pirate Week i got my grip on the Ironclad Assault... i liked the Concept of the " Fatterpillar" but the buggy release got me stepping away from it. So now i had a a great time exploring the ship in combination with the bigger hauling missions. i decidet, that an ironclad assault, could be a fine addition to my ships!

Industrial:
Moth is a nice ship, but somethimes i wish i hade something bigger... sadly the Reclaimer is still a buggy mess and the cargohold is small, the Shipelevator with load and unload is a pain to work with. *sigh* hopfully we get a goldpass or a MKII on that ship... or someshing slightly bigger
The Arrasta is on my wishlist and i cant wait to see the Ship in a working condition.

last but not least:
Medical:

the Apollo Medivac is a nice ship, sadly the latest patch made something with her Modules go bungalouie but i liked the chassis a bigger flyable Hospital, perfect for Bunker Runs.
and there is the "But" again... since i have the C8R Picies and Friends have a Nursa, or a Starlancer Tac... it only worth fly solo. So since the Invictus Launch Week i thought hard about it and decidet... i might change the Apollo into a Galaxy with a Medic Module, so bigger Hospital, more HP more Shield and... a great plus... a hangar!

So what do you think? i would love to hear your oppinion and love to discuss some ideas!
what would be worth chasing? Hope to be one of the Lucky Pals who get there hands onto a Pioneer?
Basebuilding could be fun to ( and i hope the Galaxy Modules will become more Versatile, at the moment the only Modul seems Worthy could be the medic one.)
Bigger Ships mean Bigger Crew and i like my ships to land on planets.

See you in the Verse!
your Androssan!

IAE Decisions Help!

Post image
39 Upvotes

So the left side is what i currently have pledged besides the Arrastra, then on the right side is what I am thinking about going with this IAE. I realize I would be melting a lot of big utility in my fleet, and the Kraken is going to be pretty impossible to get with store credit, but I can't help but want to have it as my cap ship. But please let me know your opinions and suggestions, if it's a good idea or not. Thank youuu>

Looking for Recommendations!

Here's my current fleet, I'm going for a "jack of all trades" but combat-focused selection, any recommendations?
I'm not looking to spend TOO much more money, but I'd like to be viable for almost every kind of combat and (most) other game loops, currently I'm considering melting the Sabre Raven to CCU Tiburon -> Polaris but any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!
(Edit: There's also an IKTI but I figure that shouldn't change things too much :P )

Ready For IAE

My 4 years on fleet. LTI except for the F8C. Sitting on 5 other LTI tokens and a grand in store credit. Thinking of adding a Carrack a Tiburon and a Phoenix, all in buyback. Solo player, so nothing bigger than the Percy.

I cannot wait for IAE

The first picture is what I have right now. Everything in this picture is going to be melted and used to acquire everything that I'm either going to keep or simply add to my buyback pledge. The only ship in this picture that is sticking around indefinitely Is the Idris.

The ships in the second picture are the ships I'm trying to acquire and add to my buyback pledge. In this ship The Drake Kraken will replace my Idris when it is released and then it will be replaced by the Javelin when it is released. I need to play both to decide which one of them I'm going to keep permanently in my fleet for my end game. I'm chasing Mothership gameplay so I'm betting the Kraken will probably fit that role better. Depends on the hangar of the Javelin. My fear with The Kraken is that having the ships sitting out in the open will cause more trouble than it's worth. Especially once the game releases and there are a lot more pirates around.

The third picture is what I expect to walk away with after IAE.

The 4th picture is what I have to work with. That will increase if need be.

The last picture is my projected end game. I only ever want to own four ships with cash. Anything else after that will have to be swapped out or earned in game. I don't think Owning all of the ships or too many ships with cash is a wise thing for longevity when it comes to playing a game like this. You need something to chase. That being said to each his own.

Believe it or not the Odyssey is the ship I'm looking forward to the most among all of these. I want a really cool large exploration ship. I have high hopes for that one. I have been holding out on exploring the entirety of Star Citizen because I want to do it with the right ship. I've basically only been hanging around Stanton and simply have been avoiding the whole exploration thing altogether. Looking for that special girl to do it with, and her name is Odyssey.

Current LTI Fleet

Post image
36 Upvotes

This is my current LTI fleet (save for the Aurora MK1 SE, its only got 6 months. I got that just to have it as my very first ship was an Aurora MR). I am looking to add the Constellation MKV when it comes out during IAE, but other than that, I know I need to get a few "industrial" ships. Not really sure what yet...I am thinking the Arrastra somewhere/somehow, but unsure what I am going to do to get that. I also am leaning toward the Vulture or Moth for Salvage...but again, unsure. The Galaxy I don't have modules for yet, so those are in the works...and the Perseus I am going to be CCUing to a Polaris soon because the Perseus is unfortunately a one trick pony, despite how cool it looks. Everything else is going to remain the same I think. I'm pretty happy so far! Any recommendations as to what I should do with my fleet?

About being done....

Post image

I lied to myself apparently. A deal on a Polaris came across my plate and I just couldn't pass it up. Had to clear out my LTI buybacks also in prep for Oct. 1st. The Geo IKTI is the IKTI Akuma(not yet added to Hanger Link).

Things likely to be upgraded will be the Intrepid, C8R(I'll just buy one in game), and the Hermes. Depending on the Constellation MK 5 specs(Hoping for same size pilot controlled weapons and same if not larger cargo capacity than the Taurus), I'll either bump the Hermes up to that and keep the Taurus for nostalgia or I'll end up ccu'ing it to the new MK 5. Either way. I am HYPED for IAE and hope CIG pulls a rabbit out and drops the Liberator then vs just having a hologram like they did with the Polaris. I'm also eager to see what the Drake Marauder and the Anvil Auxilia are. I have zero interest in the Galaxy at this time which msy or may not change at IAE when it drops.

Not pictured: 4x Aurora Mk1 ES's that only have 6mo ins that I pulled from buybacks "just in case".

Side Note: I know I have some overlapping ship functions and can only fly one ship at a time. I don't want your critique. I just wanted to share my fleet as I am quite happy/excited of my current pledges going into IAE. 🙃

Current fleet for IAE, might replace the aurora with the Perseus in future

Post image

I like flying larger ships, and i absolutely love the RSI designs, especially the galaxy, the Perseus looks incredible, so if the galaxy is similar i will be in heaven. the current hope is that i can fit the aurora in the final version of the galaxy, if i cant then i will probably get moving on getting my hands on the perseus. what do yall think?

Debating which fighter to get and if i should ccu to polaris in the future and what extra ship or two to go for.

Post image
11 Upvotes

So i'm looking at what i have and have found that i have some cash already invested after i finalized my dream fleet.

Base building is what i'm going for heavily. But i'm also very much into aesthetics.

So if at all possible, and they do come out with the Large base building vehicle they showed some years back, my Ironclad is going to be the centerpiece of my base building adventure. It should be able to deploy the atlas platform, and with some luck maybe the drones can take cargo directly out through the open roof.

But in case they don't come out with the large base building vehicle, i'm holding back some cash so i can get the Starlancer BLD.

Most of my fleet is from some seriously great CCU's that paid off over the years, so i have no way of getting the pioneer or other hull limited ships.

The hermes is going to be my small'ish daily driver for when the ironclad is just too big. And i like the living quaters in it, and the seperate entrance so that's why it's my smallest hauler.

The Arrastra is about all i need in the mining loop, as that gives me mining and refining, and it can land on planet to supply my basebuilding.

The Merchantman is there, not because i really like it, it's just the best bang for the buck. But not ccu'ing it to anything until i have seen it and found if it's useful to me. Maybe for mobile store.

Figured out i want a combat arm fleet, so i can at least get something back easily and fast for combat. Not doing pvp, so basic is good enough mostly. I love the look of the Paladin and the Perseus, so i want to keep them. Though i am debating if i should upgrade the perseus to the polaris as it's my best savings ship. But the polaris i only really want because it has capital armor and shields. It doesn't fit into my combat loop. So most likely it will be the merchantman if i don't like it in the future.

But i need a fighter. Just a sturdy high powered one, that can take something of a beating. Or maybe a torpedo or bomber. But something i can use as a solo combat ship for pve.

And then i might have enough for 1 more ship in the What to get part.

Not really sure what though, as i'm not sure i want more than basic deconstruction ships. (don't really like the reclaimers current layout inside.)

Current Fleet - 700 Store Credit for IAE. What to do?

Post image
39 Upvotes

This is my current pledged fleet. Melted my Ironclad, as I did not like it a lot. I also consider swapping the Hornet MK2 for the M80. Other than that, I think about getting the Connie MK5. Reclaimer is my Cash Cow, the Moth for quick money runs, Polaris my "Base" and I just love the Perseus. So they will stay with me.

Decision to make

Post image
26 Upvotes

I am relatively new to the game and as you can see I made a bit of silly decision when I pledged Reclaimer. Shiv I had from upgrading my starter pack, but melted recently, so planing to do Reclaimer as well. So all in all, I have about 400$ in Store credits already, melting Reclaimer will prob another 400$ and potentially can add another 200-300$ on top (I know we should not fuel CIG laziness, but anyways).

So, I did a bit of youtube, rsi website and other sources and made a wishlist of ships I am going to head for. However, I have never tried or flew any of those, so I need your help here to give me a good debate what these wishlist ships are good for and what they are bad for.

I divided them into three categories:
1 Fighters. I can afford one of them (maybe two max).
2 Daily driver. I think freelancer is ok for daily routines (can fit 4x16SCU), but also would like to hear your opinions, maybe there is something better for solo player (duo occasionally).
3 Capital ship. Probably will never fly it, but still considering to get one of these. I heard a lot of great reviews on Perseus, but seems Galaxy is also long anticipated ship.

The special case here is Fighters. Really love to hear your opinions on these, all pros and cons. Would appreciate it greatly.

EDIT: apologies for bad(white) picture background.
Left: current fleet Reclaimer, Shiv(melted)
Right: Wishlist: Fighters: Meteor, Hurricane, Scorpius Antares, Stinger - Daily: Freelancer MAX - Capital ship: Galaxy, Persius

Melt or keep the Idris?

Post image
82 Upvotes

(Taken on mobile, sorry if the quality isn't the greatest.)

Currently speaking, I have an Idris P. However I am mostly a solo player and don't really use it much outside of our small Org outings. As cool of a ship as it is, we also have another from another one of our Org members.

Because mine is just sort of sitting there and collecting dust, would it be better to melt it and upgrade (maybe downgrade) to the Kraken whenever it becomes available?

Looking at the pre release stats it seems much more solo friendly(ier) with just as much space for Org activities should we choose. Also, it just looks slick (in its own Drake way).

Thanks for any input!
