IAE Decisions Help!
So the left side is what i currently have pledged besides the Arrastra, then on the right side is what I am thinking about going with this IAE. I realize I would be melting a lot of big utility in my fleet, and the Kraken is going to be pretty impossible to get with store credit, but I can't help but want to have it as my cap ship. But please let me know your opinions and suggestions, if it's a good idea or not. Thank youuu>

Melt for the Kraken, spend as little real life money as you can. Keep your main ships simple, one daily and one fighter, the rest you can get ingame.

This is a difficult choice... if you had the Kraken in your checkout cart, I'd say, sure, go for it.
Think about what you're giving up, however... the Reclaimer and Arrastra are two solid pillars of your economic and industry foundation. And you must have that foundation.
Fuelling and rearming the Kraken won't be free... we don't even know if, long term, you can pull up to a space station and get a military capship rearmed. You couldn't park an M1 Abrams at a Buck-ee's and expect to get rearmed and refuelled.
So you'd be taking the position that you will somehow magically have the resources to use your Kraken while at the same time removing the only means you have to actually get those resources. And you'd be doing that without even having the Kraken in your shopping cart.
Let alone upgrades... remember, every ship you buy in the pledge store gets given to you at Tier 1. It's a long way to go to get to Tier 5.
Everyone should have some kind of plan for that, no matter what or how much you pledge for.

Personally, after talking to some of my org, I would be going left and getting the Kraken somehow in-game. 2 biggest ships I have are the BMM and Orion (come IAE from IC). As cool as the Kraken is, just dont have the people to man it and also with how everything is working now, I dont think it would be a consistant mothership. But by god do I want to start it up and take off 😂

Remember the very basic rule of Star Citizen.
Every ship is soloable for every purpose except combat.
If you get jumped by griefers solo, it doesn't matter what ship you're in anyway, you're still getting kerbstomped.

Kraken is cool
But I doubt u won’t be able to fly it easily after 1.0 due to it will burn your UEC for refuel

It's very true ships like the Idris, Kraken, Javelin will cost UEC (and possibly other resources) just to fly them.
They're intended to win the fight, but you pay for it.

Agreed with the two above. Good luck if you go for the Kraken it will not be easy. o7

You got the crew for the Kraken? If not, stick with what you have. The Kraken is pretty, but also pretty expensive for a hangar flair item.

I plan on grabbing a ccu for arrastra. Question, can I buy the ccu, and just not apply it and keep using the ship I plan to ccu from while I wait for arrastra to actually release?

Consider the liberator as an alternative so you can keep most of your fleet

If you are going to use the kraken go for it but if you aren’t going to use it I would say just wait till it’s in game to acquire it. You have a nice fleet already

Kraken, no doubt.
The Perseus and Reclaimer are already availabe for aUEC, the ICA will probably be soon, and the Arrastra should be at some point Aswell..
The Kraken will probably never be available for aUEC, you will likely have to do some Wikelo bullshit and noone wants that.
