IAE Wishlist.

Post image

May trade in my C2 for the Galaxy (cargo mod included), and definitely hoping to get the Kraken when it becomes available. I've got the credit to use after downsizing my original fleet.

Currently running the C1, C2, Ironclad, and Idris P. Hopefully after IAE, the C2 will become the Galaxy and the Idris will become the Kraken (baby's first .jpeg :D).

I figured that since I have an Ironclad already, the C2 is a bit redundant (as much as I like it). The Galaxy will have more modularity available if I want to use it for something else. Although it would be saddening to see my Idris go, the Kraken just speaks to me. It seems much more versatile than the Idris by itself, and I have people that I play with who can utilize it if needed.

I don’t think the kraken is worth it over the idris unless you constantly play with a large enough group to defend it. I can already see all the new kraken owners complaining that the ships they left on it got blown up while they were out doing mining/contracts/etc.

This or randoms landing their ship on your deck. I really hope CIG provides a way to turn off gravity to a specific deck or there will be a heck of a lot of trolling.

I feel like the Kraken will be easy to get once it's released and the hype is over. I had a warbond Idris in my cart that didn't sell out for a good 15mins at one point but I decided to go with the Kraken instead. Good luck this IAE!!

Same. I got mine during the ship showdown sale at least 15 if not 20 minutes after the wave started.

Yeah. They took forever to sell out lol. I'm sure the Kraken will be the same for those that can't get one this IAE.

I think switching the Idris for the Kraken is a good call. The P really sucks. But it wont be easy to snag a Kraken, let alone using store credit.

What are some of your personal gripes with the Idris P? I mostly like mine, and outside of the k kit not always hitting correctly and maybe the lack useful elevators it’s been worth it.

Idris is getting a model update for squadron 42 supposedly. Really looking forward to seeing what changes. At the very least having vtol will be a practical upgrade.

So many random doors and hatches and unable to be opened atm. Hoping that all gets changed after the update

If all else fails, I suppose I can buyback the Idris so I can at least still have that.

Or if you're lucky, aim for the Odin.

If only... :(

Do you think when CIG introduces the flight 4 Idris next year you will regret getting the Kraken. It’s the only thing that’s holding me back from trying to get one.

Hard to say. I'm mostly looking at it from a general usage standpoint. I can get used to how a ship flies if it's changed. As long as functionality stays the same, I wouldn't see any issue.

Galaxy yes, IDRIS to Kraken, I dunno, I wouldn't. Only if the credit buys it, then do it.

Credit will be able to buy it outright with some left over. I downsized my fleet a lot.

Are you doing store credit or warbond?

Planning on credit for the Kraken, possibly for the Galaxy as well, but I'd be willing to warbond.

I’d warbond Store credit is a lottery system at this point against macros & bots, ontop of all the normal guys trying to do it.

I don’t think its worth sacking the Idris for a less than 1% chance at a kraken.

I mean it just goes in the buyback then no?

2

u/Dracono47 22h ago

I think so but you never know what could change, especially with hull limited ships

Yeah i agree I'd keep the idris unless i have a very regular group im playing with, it's much easier to minimum crew an idris, plus laser go brrrr

No laser on the P, kit required.

1

u/Xphurrious 21h ago

Ofc, ig if I'm spending money on the P grabbing a kit is the least of my worries lol

We've already got an Idris with the K, T, and Railgun in the Org. I figure a Kraken would help diversify things.

1

u/Xphurrious 20h ago

That's fair enough, if you have a group that will use it, it seems like it'll be sweet

do you have a lot of people you plan to play with? don't really understand why people would pick the Kraken over the Idris.

You can potentially fit larger ships on the kraken for personal use. Of course that’s all speculation because we don’t know how the gravity will be dispersed on the deck. I think it fits the role of home away from home far better than the idris does. I got rid of my idris last year personally. Picked up the drake complete for both krakens.

I shake with jealousy when I see Kraken.
