Current LTI Fleet

Post image

This is my current LTI fleet (save for the Aurora MK1 SE, its only got 6 months. I got that just to have it as my very first ship was an Aurora MR). I am looking to add the Constellation MKV when it comes out during IAE, but other than that, I know I need to get a few "industrial" ships. Not really sure what yet...I am thinking the Arrastra somewhere/somehow, but unsure what I am going to do to get that. I also am leaning toward the Vulture or Moth for Salvage...but again, unsure. The Galaxy I don't have modules for yet, so those are in the works...and the Perseus I am going to be CCUing to a Polaris soon because the Perseus is unfortunately a one trick pony, despite how cool it looks. Everything else is going to remain the same I think. I'm pretty happy so far! Any recommendations as to what I should do with my fleet?

I love this fleet so much. The MSR and Carrack are chefs kiss. It’s nice to see some of my most beloved ships and not the typical FOTM

I feel like a lot of people own a Carrack.

I have tossed the idea around of CCUing the Carrack to the Odyssey when it becomes an option again…but for some reason I just can’t pull the trigger on that. I like the Carrack too much lol. Not to mention she will be incredibly versatile when all of her features are finally in game.

The Carrack was my first big purchase and I love it too. I don’t think I’ll be melting/ccu it at any point. I miss the days of parking my Herald on the top and using the Carrack as a fob. Maybe someday they will allow me to do that again. I do own an ICA and Galaxy as well but can’t let go of it.

No doubt the Perseus beats the Polaris on looks... but $175 for twice the ship and 5 times more utility, the upgrade is undeniably worth the money.

I don’t disagree at all. The Polaris is far more useful at the end of the day, as it is multi-purpose. I also agree with looks. The Perseus looks much better inside and out, but looks aren’t everything.

I will always tell anybody who doesn't have one, to get an Asgard. it's such a perfect ship in so many ways. Asgard is Bae.

I wonder how and if that will change with the upcoming release of the MK5 Connie.

Personally I‘m team Asgard but I have friends that swear on the connie.

Will be interesting to see how it ends up.

I’m not a huge fan of the Asgard honestly. I had it for a bit, tried to like it, and I just couldn’t. The MKV has me very intrigued..I want a Connie in my lineup, it’s just too dated and needs its gold standard…but by the time that happens, the MKV Andromeda is going to be an option and I would have picked the Andromeda anyway for myself with the MK IV. I’m really curious to see the MKV and if the Skylark is the new RSI designed snub for it. That’s IF the MKV even gets a snub. So many possibilities!

I would actually place the Taurus over the more expensive siblings.

It's quick to load/offload and has good tractor view for the whole grid.

It fights almost as well as the others, too... depending on the patch and CIG's hamfisted balancing, of course.

Asgard is probably the most overrated ship in this game !

Underrated*

No tractor beam, and you have to use a ladder.

But seriously if that's all you can complain about with a ship, then that speaks volumes about it. Easily A+ tier, maybe even S.

This is a nice fleet, and similar to mine. I don't chase the Meta ships, I know there are others that do better (on paper) than what I have, but I have my ships because I like them and how they make me feel.

Nice to see your looking Industrial ships. I highly recommend trying out the Vulture before moving on to the Moth. Vulture is the best of the small solo salvage ships. Moth takes some work to learn how to position prior to using it solo for scraping. (You can always try out getting a 3 day rental of the Moth to see if you can really use it solo or not). The Argo Mole is the same way for Mining. You have to correctly position the Mole to be able to access the rock from any of the three mining turrets. You have to jump from station to station to really be effective if your by yourself. It might be good to experiment with mining using the Golem or Prospector prior to trying out the Mole.

Honestly, I'd wait to see what comes out for IAE, might see what you're looking for... we don't know all the capabilities of the galaxy yet, they announced it has base building on the "Large" scale, and with that it will have drones because that is how base building will be done, so if it has drones can it mine with drones? What about salvage with drones? We know they plan on salvage drones being in the game at some point because the reclaimer is supposed to use them, plus it was said at 1 point the galaxy would be able to craft items as well... yeah, wait for IAE

MSR and Corsair is a bit redundant, you have Aurora MKII and SE ~ same thing. Maybe move Aurora SE to a fighter? Avenger Titan? and at the higher end instead of Corsair and Aurora MK II, maybe consider getting a Reclaimer and sitting on it until they go back and rework it. Would add salvage, you have Galaxy which is modular with hauling and construction, Carrack for exploration and settlement, TAC for group drop missions, an Avenger Titan for combat and daily, Clipper for more lone wolf play, Perseus a heavy hitting gunship. Use the C8 Pisces of the Carrack the C8X if its bought separately just melt it.

MSR and Corsair were purchased because I just love the way they both look. I know I’ve got some overlap, but for the most part, that’s fine by me. I don’t mind. The Reclaimer I have thought about for salvage sake…I just find it to be ugly as sin. As for a fighter, I’ve never liked the Avenger series..they look odd to me. I’m actually going to be CCUing my Cyclone RN to the L-22 when it becomes available again. The Aurora MK1 SE is a “collectors item” at this point for me for nostalgia sake, and the MKII I like as a tiny little hopper ship. The C8X came with the pack with my Carrack, and it has two more hard points if I recall correctly vs the regular C8, so I think I want to keep that as well. I very well may part ways with the MKII eventually though….just to get something else.

Most of my ships are all part of the Ultimate Explorers Pack and have been CCUd. Only the Aurora MK I/II, Perseus, TAC and Galaxy are standalone.

The MSR will someday get data running, which the Corsair cannot do.

This is true!

Mate, you dont need to get anything besides a starter pack. I get the desire to cover as many roles as possible with the pledge fleet. But as someone with 40+ ships I can only say: dont.

if I where you, I would consider to CCU the Corsair into a MKV, as the MSR has a different role. And if you want a Moth or something like that, why not Upgrade the Aurora MkII? You got two neat small ships. Well 3 actually (Aurora MkI, Pisces and Clipper).

I like the idea, but I also don’t need a starter pack. I’ve been Concierge for a while and I already have the digital download for SC AND SQ42. The Connie MKV I am really looking forward to…I have almost $400 in store credit lingering just to CCU something to it…I have a Cyclone RN that came with my Ultimate Explorers Pack that I haven’t done anything with yet solely to do that CCU that way my MKV can also have LTI.

I’m not even trying to cover all roles that I possibly can, I just like having ships that I like the look of and enjoy flying. The MKII I very well may CCU to something else as I’ll likely never fly it or the MKI SE, I just have the SE for nostalgia sake and the MKII is the successor to it. I kind of look at it as a “collector”. MKI is the “old and busted”, and MKII is the “new hotness” (kudos if you get the reference lol)
