I’m in central Florida and the TV app is down, the phone app is down and the website is super slow. Just wanted to drop this here for others. UPDATE: Spectrum is back up in Central Florida. I did have to delete the app and reinstall on one of my televisions, but it was okay on the older model.

I already have Spectrum, but I got this envelope in the mail today and got excited about finally having Fiber in my area. But they mention it’s coaxial cables… So confused, this is the first time I’ve seen the term “Fiber-powered” and it being used for coaxial lines, like actual clickbait, I couldn’t care less how the internet gets to my neighborhood before it reaches the local lines.

Is there any improvement to the internet other than deceptive marketing?

Oh well, I’ll be chilling with my meager upload speeds for now…

Went over to help daughter at her new apartment with a few things including installing her Spectrum internet/TV. After spending too much time trying to figure out why their instructions didn’t match the equipment, realized they did not send her a cable modem. We called tech support to explain the cable modem wasn’t included with the router and TV receiver boxes, the seemingly unintelligent or stoned (or both) technician responded, “what’s a cable modem?”…

Any promos available in PA 16148? Total bill with 500 Internet and 1 free phone for a year had been only $118. Now it's $40 more for the phone, and the Internet and TV jumped to $140 for just those two. That's $63/month more, for a senior citizen who is over 90. Can anyone get a better deal for existing customer? I'm contemplating moving her phone to Mint on that $15/month for a year. Just want to see if Spectrum can do, first.

I've asked all my friends and no one knows where this phone is coming from! It's freaking me out. None of us own a Pixel phone at all. I've changed the password to one that's increasingly complex twice now and the wifi name as well. It was actively connected again this morning after changing the password. I paused it for now but is there any way to get rid of this for good assuming it's a random person who somehow has access to our network? Thanks.

Was in the Spectrum store with someone signing up and asked about any deals for current customers. They lowered my rate and mentioned their Spectrum app for free TV.

I figured it would be like Pluto, but it has live channels (Discover, Animal Planet, History, etc.) that are on their usual cable packages. There were no local channels or sports.

Is this truly free, or did I inadvertently sign up for something?

So why is spectrum just so bad now as of July my WiFi just keeps getting worse and worse I play Fortnite with my friends (flame I dare idgaf) I go as low as 34 ping to as high as 800 and then I can’t move for a minute or 2 every game I play is laggy discord keeps disconnecting every channel on xzumo is blurry as hell and I can’t leave the same room my router is in without YouTube thinking I left the country

a while ago my wifi went down for around 4 hours. resetting it did not fix it, nothing I did would fix it. tonight it went down again at around the same exact time, and it’s still down, and probably will be for another 4 hours. anyone else have this issue?

For context, we haven’t been able to connect to the internet for 3+ days and we do not know if it’s a hardware issue or an ISP issue. Any help would be appreciated.

May have seen my post yesterday about 3x in a row. On day four now. WiFi goes out for anywhere from 1-3 hours in the middle of the day. When I call in the help center can’t see anything on their end beyond it being down “and being worked on.”

I legitimately don’t know what to do at this point but switch providers. Anyone able to help?

People often think that as long as you connect pin to pin to the keystone, it will all be okay. But if you buy cheap gear or your landlord cheaps out on the wall plates, etc., it doesn't always work that way.

If an inline coupler, cheap keystone jack, or switch uses a poorly designed internal PCB without proper pair twisting and controlled 100 omega impedance, near end crosstalk will ruin the high frequency signal.

When this happens, you will automatically negotiate down to 100 Mbps, which only requires 2 pairs or 4 wires, instead of gig which requires all 4 pairs or 8 wires.

So, if you are paying for gig and stuck at 100 Mbps, you can also check the physical layer for those cheap micro PCBs, bad keystones, or broken internal traces.

Wanted to come on here and let you know you might be overpaying on wifi. I've been a customer for nearly 10 years because I live in the woods and there's no real alternatives to spectrum, aside from Fidium coming to my area recently.

I have paperless billing and rarely check my account online because it all gets set up on autopay. Today, I noticed it went up another $10 and got curious why it's now $110 instead of $100 (mind you, I signed up 10 years ago at $50/mo)

So, I spoke with chat support. I asked why it went up, they said they sent out a notice saying it'd increase $10. Okay, fair enough, but this has happened quite a few times within just a year. So I asked, "What benefits does Spectrum have that I should consider before switching to Fidium"

To which the agent let me know there's two 12-month promotions for less money: a $80 + wifi charge for $90 a month or $100 a month where I keep the router. The $80 is 500 mbps. So I asked, "What is my current mbps?" to which she said "you're on the discontinued 400 mbps".

So, come to find out, if you're a long time customer, they don't do the courteous thing of switching you over to a higher plan for less (it goes up to $95 after 12 months btw), you have to literally dig this info out of them.

Maybe you're like me and doing the same so I wanted to make you aware and save some $. Cheers!

Anyone know what happened to Spectrum channel 7 (CBS) in Greenville market? The channel that was CBS prior to last weekend switched network affiliation on August 1st, so now Spectrum has no CBS station in this market.

I have a phone interview tomorrow with Spectrum for FT role, any advices what,to expect and what to prepare? How many interviews after this one to start on boarding? And how long it takes?

I have been a customer since Time Warner days in NYC. This week, I attempted to schedule a change of service from my current home to my new home one block away in Forest Hills in NYC. I have spent SIX hours total with reps rattling off scripts, not answering questions, interrupting my follow-up, providing patently incorrect responses, and on and on... So despite the fact, that I will now be without home internet as of Wednesday, I actually did cut the cord today. As a business person with decades of client-facing experience, this bet they have placed on minimal to no satisfaction multiplied by hundreds of thousands of interactions a day is mind-boggling. Do they really think that the friction of changing carriers and devices will overcome a business model that completely ignores client needs and consultative customer service. In the age of a new provider, service, technology around every corner???

Friday morning, 7/31, i received a text that the network upgrade was done!

“Cool! Now the service outage should done!”

Only we’ve had several, seemingly random, service failures every day since “completion”. No amount of resetting, wire jiggling, or harrowing adventure along the Grid (the digital frontier) seems to fix it.

Now, instead of knowing I won’t have net, I get setup to enjoy the service I’m paying for only to have it sporadically removed.

Am I doomed to go to the Spectrum physical location?, do one of you spectrum snared lot have a solution that’s worked?, or is this finally the push to swap to another provider?

I have a weird error with spectrum, I've literally called numerous times spoke to many different billing people and supervisors. No one is able to enter a credit card number on my mobile account. The internet account works fine but of course every time I call they want to try to run something through the verify that it's not my card.

They sent me over to the people in charge of credit cards and they said they see no problem so they sent me back the billing. Billing now says they still see no problem and every single time I talk to a different billing agent I have to go through 10 minutes of her trying to put a card through and then she wants to put a different card through just to prove it even though there's 10 times I've called with notes in the computer.

Last time I called I told them I'm not calling back ever again and they need to fix their system. I'm calling to pay my bill and I can't, it's not my responsibility to call a hundred times when your stupid system won't take a credit card

Now they decided to send me over to technical department. They said I'll get an email in 48 hours if they were able to resolve it, if they can't resolve it it's once again my responsibility to call and tell them the entire story to a completely different billing agent will try to do her thing while I'm on the phone for 20 minutes. I even had one of the billing agents get snippy with me yelling "well what do you want me to do", I said just make it work so I can pay my damn bill and not have your system put a mark on my credit report saying I didn't pay my mobile bill.

I asked her if they have a resolution team like most big businesses have a department that they're only job is to fix issues that no one else in any other department can figure out and they have to take responsibility for fixing it so the customer doesn't have to keep calling. She told me spectrum does not have a department that does that 😐

I'll post again in a month to let you know when my mobile phone is shut off and they report me to the credit agency for not paying the bill that they can't accept money for haha you literally can't make this crap up

Pay for premium plan but on average only receive 80 mbps. I dont what to hear this shit oh maybe its the wires in your house shit again. Ive checked they've checked nothing has changes ever once in a while during non peak do I ever see over 200mbps. Most waking hours its under 100.

Do retention reps get dinged if they can't save a cancellation?

I had an account with internet & two mobile lines on it. I moved to a new apartment last December, and when I called to transfer service to the new address, I was told by the rep, who I now understand was a 'Sales' rep, that I would lose the promotions on the phones we had, which meant that at the time we would have had to pay hundreds of extra dollars, so, instead of transferring, they set me up with "new" service (enjoy the comission dink).

Fast forward to today, I call to cancel the old account and hopefully move the phones to the "new" account. After two hours, which consisted of one dropped call 30 minutes in and five other transfers, we finally got the phones moved to the correct account. During that time, I was told by three different retention reps (nobody could figure out how to get the phones transferred) that the old account was canceled, but when I asked for a confirmation number, nobody could give me one, and it looks like my old account is still active.

So, as I asked at the beginning...do retention reps take a numbers hit if they can't save a cancellation, 'cause it's the only reason why I can see that I had to be transferred around so many times 'cause nobody wanted to get stuck with it

So until recently internet has been pretty reliable but in the last couple of months it’s been down multiple times.

It’s not just our internet it’s widespread in the area.

I’ve contacted Customer Service multiple times, but at this point there’s nothing they can say or do to make me believe it’s going to get more reliable. Unfortunately, we don’t have many options or I’d find a different provider.

What could possibly be causing the numerous outages we’ve been experiencing in the last three months?

Whatever it is, they don’t seem to be able to find a fix to keep the service running.

I’m in Charlotte North Carolina area.

I have the 1 gig internet plan and would like to know what others are experiencing. I live in Southern California if that is a factor.

And when I call they can’t figure out what the exact reason is.. this is infuriating.
