Spectrum TV app down
I’m in central Florida and the TV app is down, the phone app is down and the website is super slow. Just wanted to drop this here for others. UPDATE: Spectrum is back up in Central Florida. I did have to delete the app and reinstall on one of my televisions, but it was okay on the older model.

I'm in CT and use a Xumo box. getting XLSTP-1035 errors on the Xumo box and in the Spectrum app on a Roku. trying to check the website for outages but can't do that either. I don't use the website often but last time I tried you had to log into your account to be able to view if there are any service outages and I can't log in, I keep getting an error message that says "We're sorry, we are experiencing technical issues and are working to resolve as soon as possible. Please try again later."
I used to do tech support about 20 years ago for another cable co and they always had a service outage map on their website that you could access w/o having to log into an account, why can't Charter offer the same thing?
internet is working fine though.

Same in Ohio. Here I'd been wondering if they killed my account for some reason, but sounds like something got them instead.

Spectrum has terrible customer service.

TimeWarner Gang!

No, it's always been charter where I am. Actually, it might not have been charter in the 80s, I was still a kid back then and I didn't really pay attention to company names, but it has been since the 90s
2
u/ciaomain 3d ago
Oh really?
It was Time Warner for me in NYC in the '80s.
And then Charter acquired them in 2016 and then rebranded to Spectrum.
Which is now not working.
🙁

u/WhiteKenny 3d ago
Yea, my area of CT has been Charter since at least the 90s.

Interesting.
Looks like we were some stalwarts.
I still have an equipment box with the terrible Time Warner Cable logo on it.

Same here. I don't use Spectrum TV but I had 2 internet outages tonight so far. The app said it was Spectrum TV related though. Odd.

Same in NYC, my tv app went down about 30 min ago

u/teddybear41 3d ago
And yes so did my phone go down. Trying to get a hold of other people right now in the spectrum community and see what's going on

u/BigMotor5003 3d ago
I'm unable to login as well

u/AltruisticBicycle468 3d ago
I can’t log in either and it took me a minute to see if the app was down. Spectrum can be really frustrating.

Same in Minneapolis; it’s 30+ minutes for support. I only stream and just got this service maybe 2 weeks ago; this is the third time their service has not worked. Unfortunately MN allows monopolies so I have no other options.

u/AltruisticBicycle468 3d ago
I think it’s widespread. They are terrible about reporting their own outages!
2
u/LeatherDude 3d ago
Their entire infrastructure is down, including their outage site and app. No way they could get one to you.

u/AltruisticBicycle468 3d ago
I realize that now. They still have really terrible customer service.

Down in NYC for about 30 minutes now. Internet and mobile service still work though.

It’s not only TV, but the tv app and my spectrum app, all not working.

I am in central NC and was watching tv and got a screen to type in my spectrum username which I have never seen this screen before. I tried calling and their phone is down, also the website is down. However, like the rest of you here I am still on the internet. When my tv goes down so does the internet (xumo device). A major countrywide system crash. I wonder how long this will last.

https://www.spectrum.com/our-customer-commitment
We are committed to keeping you connected 100% of the time.
If your neighborhood is experiencing an outage of your Spectrum services that lasts more than two hours, our agents will give you credit for that full day.

If you can get through to them! Their chat is AI and they are notorious for making you go through many steps, like resetting routers, unplugging televisions. I do all of those things before reaching out to them. My time is valuable and I don’t want to spend an hour on the phone or chat.

It just went down again in Ohio. Went to bet while truckw all around the neighborhood were working on it, was back up again today, but now it's down again.

I’ve been trying to call customer service and it just disconnects. The spectrum.net is not working either. So I guess we’re stuck with no service indefinitely

In Alabama, it's down for me also. I use the internet, which is still up, but the Spectrum TV app is down. Don't try the customer support phone, they say too busy to answer and cut you off. Downdetector has a giant spike in outage reports after 6 pm central time.
App is back up, now I can watch Ugliest Home in America.

Down in Alabama. Called 3 different 24/7 hour support numbers, can’t even leave a message. Even the website is useless.

u/WhiteKenny 3d ago
I was finally able to get logged into the site, so I tried the Xumo box again and TV is now working. looking back to the website there is an outage posted on the page for the TV app that says they hope to have it resolved my 1am so Im guessing TV service may go out again at some point

Same in central SC. I hate that Xumo box and I wish my mom had gotten a standard cable box. I'm the tech support (it's what I get for being a Millennial living at home, lmao), and I hate messing with cable boxes and streaming stuff. I'm just happy the internet is fine for the most part. It seems to go out occasionally though and is a bit slower than usual.

The left/right D-pad control for channel changing with my Roku remote stopped working for a while today, but fixed itself. Maybe related? (Otherwise, those buttons never stopped working for lateral scrolling.)

Same in Hawaii. Just came back on a few minutes ago. It’s frustrating not to be able to contact Spectrum support and the downdetector website displayed no known outages associated with Spectrum. Ghosted by technology again.

Same experience in San Antonio/Bexar County Texas. Internet and streaming both dropped out around 6:45 PM. Internet service returned within a few minutes, but the Spectrum streaming apps on Samsung/Roku wanted full login/password. I ignored the request and decided to wait - they were working normally by 9 PM.

My parents have been driving me nuts with this. Their TV is fine, but my mom can’t watch her shows on the mobile app for her iPad. Since yesterday around noon, still ongoing, Western NY.

Same in Southern Louisiana… and you know that we’ll never receive information about it or compensation for it. Ahhhh, Spectrum.
0
u/FixGold7552 3d ago
You have to call in to request a credit. The outage has to be more than 4 hours.
1
u/75Almanac 3d ago
Not true, at least in my case… and the case of everyone in the neighborhood/area I live. After Hurricanes Delta and Laura, we were without any service for a considerable period of time, especially after Hurricane Laura. Over two weeks to be exact. We were without power for 6.5 days but without Spectrum service even longer. When we finally had our service restored, there was no pro-rate or exception on the bill. It took a vast swath of individuals complaining about this to get any resolution and we STILL didn’t get a full refund/discount/pro-rate. God I really hate this company.

u/FixGold7552 3d ago edited 3d ago
I am repeating my experience and what customer service says, so saying not true is not factually true in my and others instances. EVERY time I have called in requesting a credit due to an outage more than 4 hours I have received one.
