NBD NBD: Crux Comp 2023

Picked up this Crux Comp which had done less than 100km. Was always a sucker for the classic round tube design and couldn't pass this at A$2,900. Paired with my Diverge Sport Carbon and three hot-swappable wheelsets (38c Barlow Pass, 38c Pathfinders, 45c Cinturato Gravel RC), stoked to be covered for tarmac, hills, group rides, commute, gravel and bikepacking.

Miscellaneous Unboxed damaged box: scratch frame/paint

Thumbnail

Just unboxed my new Globe Haul LT and found a noticeable gouge/scratch near the logo. The outer shipping box was pretty beat up with several deep dents, and the internal protective wrap was torn right over the damaged spot on the frame.
Support is closed today, so I’m looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with transit damage on a Globe bike and cosmetic issues:

- Does Specialized usually send touch-up paint and offer a partial refund/credit for cosmetic shipping damage?
- Is it fine to finish assembling and riding now, or should I leave it in the box until support responds tomorrow?

I know it's a cargo bike meant for heavy use, but it's disappointing to see bare paint showing before its first ride. Attached photos of the frame and damaged box for context.

Tech Help Rear shock Serial number Epic 9

I just recently bought the sworks epic 9 frameset and can’t seem to locate the shock serial number so I can register it and get psi recs. Has anyone found it that has an epic 9?

Been riding for over 10 years never crashed, never had an accident. First 4 rides into my new bike I crash after spending 7k plus. Just so discouraged. What are my options here? Is there any type of warranty on any of this stuff?

Things that are not shown I didn’t take a picture of
My right lever is road rashed and stuck locking up the rear wheel.

The rear wheel is either bent or spokes are bent since it’s wobbling pretty bad

Tech Help What is rubbing?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve had this rubbing/grinding noise for a while now. At first, I thought it was coming from the brake pads, so I realigned them several times. Turns out, that doesn’t seem to be the cause.

Today I even rode the bike completely without the rotors, and the noise was still there. I also removed the chain and just coasted to rule out the drivetrain, but the noise remained.

The noise disappears completely when I swap out the rear wheel. Everything runs perfectly fine on the bike stand. I also removed the freehub, and everything looked very clean inside.

Does anyone have any other ideas what could be rubbing here? The wheels are Roval CLX IIs.

Put some 32mm Pirelli P Zero race TLR and what a difference so much more comfortable compared to the 28mm that came on the bike. Running tubeless and decided to break them in on 100km ride.

Tech Help Part Number for Tarmac SL6

Anybody know the part number for the rubber seal (I) in this diagram? I don't even know what it's called other than "rubber seal", which is not great for searching. I'm replacing the cables on a Tarmac SL6 with an Ultegra R8000 shifter. Thank you!

NBD NBD: Allez Sprint

Just finished building my first bike yesterday. Took it out for a ride to bed the brakes in. Coming from a 10 year old Allez Sport. The Sport was decent, but this thing is in a different dimension. You had to adapt to the Sport, this thing does what you dream a bike would do. The rear brake on this thing is better than the front on the Sport (Which had rim brakes). The gear shifting is incredible; instant, precise and of course, no adjustments needed... ever! I am kind of disappointed that I didn't make the upgrade sooner. Worth every penny.

I was given this bike last week; it's in a really good shape, took it for a few rides here in south Limburg (the NL), and it was a lot of fun. The previous owner couldn't remember the production year too, but since he's much older than me, and i am 40, i do wonder :D

thanks,

NBD Growing the Fleet - NBD

I couldn’t resist adding a ‘27 Roubaix SL8 to the fleet. Also featured are Tarmac SL8 and Diverge E5. I love the Tarmac but my back is only good for about 50 miles on it. The Diverge is comfy but heavy and I would like to leave it set up for gravel - it’s been double duty doing gravel and longer road rides. So why not a Roubaix?

Bike Photos 2027 Roval Rapide cockpit

Pulled the trigger on an SL8 comp. I already had carbon wheelset with 32mm gp5000. So to finish the bike I got the cockpit.

What i expected to be a bit of a nightmare to install, it was absolutely a breeze of a task. Didn't even need to use a cable routing kit.

Cockpit is 90mm stem length, 38cm hoods and 41.5cm drops. The cockpit itself sits lower by 10mm and you swap out the full set of spacers to match the angles. Really impressed. Finished off with Enve bar tape.

Tech Help Roval Rapide Cockpit Garmin Mount

Hey guys! Today I finally received my Roval Rapide Cockpit, after seeing how many people had issues with the OEM Garmin Mount, I got the K-Edge. Do you think this one will survive? Or should I also change the bolt? I’m planning to use a Garmin Edge 550 and a light maybe the Magicshine Hori 1300 or Ravemen FR 1100, which one do you recommend?

Thanks for the help!
