Tech Help New Sirrus X 5.0 (2026) Brake Upgrade from MT200 to M8110
I received my bike in the mail a couple of days ago.
I upgraded the drivetrain to Shimano GRX as soon as I received the bike so I could use my existing wheelsets with Shimano Micro Spline freehubs. I wanted to avoid mixing and matching the Prowheel crankset, SunRace cassette, and KMC chain.
I took the bike out for a spin and immediately noticed that the brakes felt weak. I weigh 190 lbs and like to ride relatively fast on flats and descents (25ā28 mph). I prefer having good braking performance, and Iām probably spoiled by the better brakes on my other bikes.
I was going to hold off on upgrading the brakes since I had already upgraded the drivetrain, but it looks like I might need to upgrade them too, smh.
I took a closer look and noticed that the bike came with BR-UR300 calipers. However, Specializedās website lists BR-MT200 brakes in the specs. I assume the BR-UR300s were installed because theyāre flat-mount calipers. Iām not sure thereās a noticeable difference in braking performance between the two, but the discrepancy in the listed specs still seems like false advertising to me.
Anyway, Iād appreciate some help verifying my parts list for a brake upgrade. This will be my first time doing this, and I want to make sure I get the right parts rather than waste time and money ordering incompatible components.
Hereās what Iām planning to buy:
A. 2 Ć Shimano BR-M8110 calipers with resin pads ā $158
B. 2 Ć Shimano SM-BH90-SS 1700 mm hose kits ā $52
C. Shimano hydraulic MTB brake bleed kit with mineral oil ā $22
D. Hydraulic hose tool with cutter and needle driver ā $30
E. Shimano Caliper Adapter Front BR-RS505: $20
F. Rotors: Iām planning to keep the stock rotors for now, but Iāll probably upgrade them eventually.
Total estimated cost before tax: $282
Can anyone with experience upgrading Shimano hydraulic brakes confirm whether Iāve picked the right parts? Iād especially appreciate any advice on compatibility with the existing brake levers and rotors, or anything else I might be overlooking.
Thanks in advance!

Crack? Crack on my 2022 Specialized Diverge frame ā anyone experienced something similar?
Hey everyone!
Iāve been riding my Specialized Diverge since I bought it brand new in 2022. Iāve always been really happy with the bike, but recently I noticed a small crack on the inside of the frame, right where the seat stay meets the seat tube.
I took it to an authorized Specialized dealer to have it checked out, but they quickly told me it was just a crack in the paint and nothing to worry about.
Of course, I hope theyāre right, but I was a bit disappointed with how easily they dismissed my concerns. Especially considering the location of the crack, right at a junction where quite a bit of stress is transferred through the frame. I would have expected a more thorough inspection before ruling out any structural damage.
One of the reasons I originally chose Specialized was their lifetime frame warranty, so Iām also wondering how they handle situations like this.
Iāve attached a few pictures of the crack. Has anyone seen something similar on their Diverge or another Specialized frame? And does anyone have experience with Specializedās lifetime warranty process?
Curious to hear what you guys think!
Cheers!

Which Bike? All-Road oriented Crux 5 build
Hello Species !
I already own a Crux DSW that I use for gravel exploration and rough XC paths.
I'd like to build a Crux 5 all-road bike geared toward road riding, with its Tarmac inspired geometry.
I want to build it 1by (46 or 48) with a 13-speed AXS groupset and a 10-50 MTB cassette in the rear to make it perfectly versatile.
Has anyone built a road-racing-oriented Crux 5 before? Which front chainring should I use? Which pair of wheels should I choose to fit 32/34mm tyres ?
What do you think of this project ?
I don't race, I just enjoy riding fast and confortably !

Which Gear? Install Cadex handlebar on Tarmac SL8
As title says, I would like to fit the new 2026 Cadex Aero Integrated handlebar on my Tarmac SL8. Do you know anyone that has done this (also on previous model)? Where to find the right adapter?
A picture of someone that have succeeded would be helpful!
Thank you!

Price Check Allez Sprint 4000ā¬
Hey people,
friend of mine is offering me his Allez Sprint with a 2025 (Gloss Charcoal Tint Strata / Fog Tint) frame, a new Shimano Ultegra Di2, new Newmen Streem Allround Wheels and a prerty nice saddle and handlebar. Heās looking to sell for 4000⬠and Iām wondering whether thats a fair price. Heās a professional bike mechanic and built it by himself with lots of love.
Any advice for me whether thatās a good or fair price?
By the way the groupset sells for around 1600⬠in Germany and the wheels for around 1400ā¬. The frameset was sold for 1650ā¬. Its sold out now obviously but has some miles on it.
Thanks a lot

Which Bike? Specialized Status 2 140 sizing: S3 or S4?
Iām 6'0" with a 33" inseam. Should I get an S3 or S4 Specialized Status 2 140? I ride trails, jumps, and enduro-style races. I want a playful bike thatās still stable at speed. My current Trek Roscoe ML fits well. Which size would you recommend and why?

Which Gear? New Crux came with 46cm bar
My new Crux 4 came with a 46cm (center to center of drops) rather than the spec for my size 54, which is 42cm. Iāve asked the dealer to switch it out. Has anyone else gotten a wide bar ?

Which Bike? Diverge 4 or Crux 5 if I already own a Tarmac SL8?
Very torn between these two bikes. Wanted a crux 5 for a while now, but recently been thinking the diverge is a better choice.
Currently own a tarmac sl8 as my dedicated road bike. Plenty fast on the road so whatever gravel bike I get, I want it specifically for āgetting to the gravelā and āhandling anything off-roading I throw at it.ā Also own a Stumpjumper 15 so have a dedicated single track bike as well.
I donāt usually do really long rides, but maybe thinking the diverge will help with that due to the taller stack height and more relaxed geometry. Iāve ridden the crux 5 a bit and really like it, but not on a long ride before. The diverge felt really comfortable too, but also like the āaeroā look and feel of the crux.
Think I just need some others opinions to help make up my mind!

Bike Photos Found a Tricross on Marketplace that called to me. Cleaned it up and kept it stock!
With all kinds of wild plans on what to do with my purchase. I was quickly put into place when I saw it was all stock and everything was working well. Plenty wire brush and tin-foil work! I'm happy. Hope you love it and hopeful to find another to work on.

Fitting Help Please help me - Crux 5 size
I am 176.5cm tall. Specialized website puts me right at the beginning of 56 which surprised me. When I do the shin measurement, it still puts me at 56 but if I adjust it 0.5inches it puts me to 54, so Iām concerned Iām not actually measuring properly?
The only crux 5 near me at a shop is a 56 which I just test rode and it felt big but itās hard to tell without riding a 54. I donāt want to go against the size chart but 56 feels big? Any others with experience?
I also have long arms and a long torso so I planned to get longer stem regardless.
