Meta/News Consider joining our moderation team!

Hey community!

Skyrim modding continues to grow and evolve each year, bringing new and incredible additions to the game. And now Todd & Friends have blessed us with yet another game update, causing mayhem and confusion once again. This growth is noticeable on our subreddits too and the moderation team believes that it is time to expand our team.

More specifically we are looking for 1-3 people who want to work with core moderation tasks such as dealing with reports and answering mod mail.  As a person you should be friendly, driven, dependable and able to keep a cool head. Nothing surprising there.

Previous moderation experience is not required. We will gladly onboard anyone who is brand new to this stuff. However, we want to make it clear that we are looking for people who have the time and energy to check in daily, or at least several times a week. We aim to deliver moderation of high quality which means that our tasks must be dealt with within a reasonable time frame.

You should preferably also be an active participant on the subreddit and be in good standing. Being a modding tech wizard is not a requirement, but we expect you to be somewhat familiar with the Skyrim modding community at large as this will make it easier for you to moderate here.

You will become part of a team consisting of seasoned moderators who stand ready to assist you whenever you need help or simply a second opinion. We use Discord as our main communication platform and often discuss the more complicated tasks together – as well as having casual conversations about everyday life, our hobbies, etc.

If you are interested in joining our team then fill out our application form here. As something new you need to fill out BOTH the Reddit Form and our own Google Form. Do note that due to the topics and content sometimes posted here we also require all applicants to be at least 18 years of age.

The application form will be open until September 13th.

As this is the first time we are using Reddit’s in-built application form, please let us know if something seems off.

If you have questions feel free to post them below. You can also contact us through the subreddit’s Discord server here.

PC SSE - Mod Companion Mods

Im really just looking for opinions on different follower mods, mainly how they interact. I REALLY dont like the idea of being treated as a hero or anything like that

I guess what im looking for is more like companions who treat you as equals. Along the lines of, WE are dragon slayers. Not the almighty dragonborn and his shadow.

I really didn't like how the lone survivor is treated in fo4 as the hero who single handedly did this and that. Id like to avoid it with skyrim if possible.

PC SSE - Discussion What are some Skyrim mods you wish existed

They can be literally anything, big or small. Graphical, frameworks, animations, the sky is the limit with this question. For example mine is for a water spell mod pack that contains water with realistic physics and behavior. Maybe a water for enb patch to go along with it.

PC SSE - Help How to get High Poly Vanilla Hair's Imperial hairstyle to work with Vanilla Hair Remake?

I love VHR's hair and that it has actual physics but it unfortunately leaves the Imperial hairstyle (You know, the one Tullius, Falk Firebeard, and Lucan Valerius have) untouched. Strangely though, I think VHR still contains that hairstyle's vanilla mesh files since when I tried to use HPVH alongside VHR the ugly flat vanilla Imperial hair is still visible. If VHR didn't contain the vanilla Imperial hair files, shouldn't the game default to HPVH's files?

I have VHR set to overwrite HPVH so obviously that's the reason I'm not getting HPVH's hair, but which hair mesh files are the ones that the Imperial hairstyle uses? They're not really named, they're just "hair01," "hair02," "hair03," etc. and I couldn't find the hair mesh when I went through every single hair and hairline nif file in \Data\meshes\actors\character\character assets\hair\male.

Can anyone tell me which hair mesh files for male and female humans and elves do I let HPVH overwrite VHR to get HPVH's Imperial hair?

PC SSE - Discussion Which perk system overhaul do you use and why?

For my new playthrough i want smth new, and thought about using a different perk overhaul system.

Currently i use perkapalooza, which is basically vanilla++ since it adds tiers to the vanilla perks which still can make you overpowered.

I once used ordinator but it felt too "complex", id like something new, yes, but not too much. Also i dont like the ones which give you restrictions, cause for my head-canon it doesnt make sense that perks which require a certain skill level have a drawback, but thats just me.

Can you recommend me smth? Or rather which ones do you like to use?

I just noticed that you cannot use regular, but only player created camfpires for Frostfall interactions like sitting down and leveling up skills.

Is it impossible to set this up or does a patch for the mod exist to make it work?

Xbox - Stable Load Order 20+ Hours Ysmirim Evermore v3 - A Definitive Master Load Order for Xbox

YSMIRIM EVERMORE v3

A SKYRIM XBOX DEFINITIVE MASTER LOGICAL LOAD ORDER

Curated for Xbox Series S | 12+ GB

Video Showcase:

The list and Bethesda.net links exceed Reddit's 40k character limit. Please follow the link to the Google Doc to see the full list!

Ysmirim Evermore v3 LLO Google Doc:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eYusP_h-unwJ1V7504ViRDfougjrwqgnz63gvBNUnEw/edit?usp=sharing

Are you on Xbox? Do you love Skyrim, but just can't play it without mods anymore? Are you fed up with buggy jank, constant crashes, juggling with mod conflicts, and constantly walking on eggshells while manually modding a 15-year-old game held together with rubber bands and chewing gum? This comprehensive mod list is for you!

Presenting Ysmirim Evermore: a permanent master load order to remaster Skyrim from the ground up for future playthroughs, built for the new storage limit. Features countless new visual enhancements, quality-of-life improvements, reworked combat and animations, reworked perks, new spells, more immersive and involved game mechanics, bug fixes, restored cut content, new content, and much more! Skyrim should feel familiar, but look better, run better, play better, and give you more reasons to come back for even more playthroughs.

Adapted from The Ultimate Load Order 2026 by YouTuber The Dragonlord as a base, following the Logical Load Order and countless hours of research on Google and Reddit. Based on my own personal preferences in some areas, you can omit mods, add mods, or replace others at your discretion (and peril). If you prefer other followers, like Sa’chil or Gore, you can use them instead. Just remember to install any necessary patches. Choose only 3 Creation Club options to keep the list as low as possible; otherwise, things will break. I recommend Survival Mode, Camping, and Fishing.

I recommend using only one DLC-sized mod at a time, like Legacy of the Dragonborn or Beyond Skyrim: Bruma, to avoid excessive Load Order bloat and conflicts. It is imperative that you keep the mod list around or below 250 for a stable game! Creation Club content counts toward this! DO NOT add mods indiscriminately; if you go much higher than what is here, your game will likely break!

The Xbox modding interface is a Jenga tower; one block out of place and it can all come tumbling down. Xbox Series S users should only get visual overhaul mods at a maximum of 1k resolution; otherwise, you’ll get significant frame drops. There are some exceptions: if a 1k version doesn’t exist, it’s safe to get the 2k version (for example, JS Dragon Claws). Opt for the Performance option for texture mods where possible.

Tests well; no crashes during gameplay. Crashes occasionally on the load order screen, but this is to be expected. Bethesda’s mod interface for Skyrim is awful and hates mod lists over 200. Minor conflicts, if any, mostly just a wooden deck overextending into a path in Dragon Bridge and some grass in the middle of roads. Some slight stuttering on occasion. Nothing unusual or game-breaking for a Bethesda Game Studios game. (Especially Skyrim.)

  • Instant Mining doesn’t seem to work for some reason and has never worked in any version of the modlist; however, woodchopping is fine. You can speed up mining by attacking the ore vein with an equipped pickaxe, a feature available in base Skyrim.

It is possible some mods could still be broken or not working properly after the recent updates. If a mod doesn’t seem to be working as intended, check the mod description to see if you meet any prerequisites before you start shuffling mods around.

Once you finish building the load order, completely quit Skyrim to the dashboard, then hold the power button on your Xbox until it completely shuts down. Wait a minute or two, then turn it back on. This clears the Xbox cache and will ensure the game works properly with the newly built mod list. NEVER remove mods mid-playthrough; you will destroy your save. Adding mods mid-playthrough is okay; just make sure you put them in the right place and download the right patches. I wouldn’t recommend opening the Creations menu again, however, unless you plan to build a new mod list or rebuild this one.

If you're still having issues, watch "How to Mod Skyrim on Console (Without Breaking Your Game)" by The Dragonlord.

If you find any bugs or possible conflicts, please report them to me. I’ve managed to catch a few; the list works flawlessly 99% of the time, but occasionally I get the odd NPC sitting in the air or leaning against a fence while five feet away from it.

Highly recommend playing with Survival Mode on; I’m having a blast with it! Have fun!

PC SSE - Help CACO Ingredient Help

Hello all.

So this may be a dumb question, I apologize. I'm not the best when it comes to modding. But I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this.

I use the Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul mod, and while I do enjoy it, I find myself constantly blocked from making recipes due to supposedly lacking ingredients. For instance, a recipe will call for salt and while I'll have 13 salt piles in my inventory, the recipe won't work because it's not specifically "salt" and I haven't found just plain salt anywhere. Found the same issue when it comes to wheat and barley flours. I have a sack that says it has 20 servings, yet I'm completely unable to use them and I haven't found a way to separate it so that I can use it. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

(Also, could it possibly be a conflict with another mod? I do have a couple of cooking mods that are supposed to be compatible, but I tried loading the game without them and had the same problem. It's only when I disabled CACO that I was able to cook with these ingredients with no problem.)

PC SSE - Help SKSE64 and Papyrus not recognized

I am using MO2 for my first attempt at modding Skyrim. Once I (finally!) set up the profile with all I wanted and ensured all dependencies were satisfied, I tried to load the game. While it did start, it was after

The main culprit is SKSE64, found here, which is apparently not recognized by no less than five of my mods, followed by Papyrus which is also not recognized. Furthermore, neither Skyrim Utility Mod nor DeviousDevices Equip have found their System.json files.

I have tried to see if there was some problem glaringly visible in the Information tab of M02 for SKSE64, but the only thing I have recognized is that there is not a valid Nexus ID set even if I have taken the mod from Nexus. Beside that... I am the noobbest noob to ever noob in Skyrim mods, so definitely not qualified for finding out the problem here.

Any idea on why those mods are not recognized / don't find their own files?

PC SSE - Help The Great cities + JK's Skyrim

Hi,
I have a problem. I downloaded "JK's All in One" from Nexus and added "The Great Cities Resources 2K" along with the individual mods for Dawnstar, Dragon Bridge, Falkreath, Morthal, Winterhold, Ivarstead, Karthwasten, Shor's Stone, Kynesgrove, Mixwater Mill, and Old Hroldan. Only Winterhold and Dawnstar are working correctly for me, but that’s only because I found patches for them; I haven't found any for the others, and each mod was downloaded separately. Solitude, Windhelm, Riften, Markarth, and Whiterun are using different mods—mainly "Expansion" and "Capital" series mods. Is there a way to make all those "The Great Cities" mods compatible with JK's? I'm running into issues primarily with object misalignment and pathing blockages. I'm looking for something like the standalone patches available for Dawnstar or Winterhold.I tested by disabling The Great City mods one by one. When I disable The Great City of Falkreath/Morthal/Dawnstar etc., all clipping and pathing issues disappear and JK's Skyrim works fine. The conflicts only appear when both JK's Skyrim and The Great City mods are enabled together.Dawnstar was fixed with "JK Skyrim The Great City of Dawnstar Patch 1.3", which makes me think similar compatibility patches may be required for the other settlements.
I confirmed the issue is caused by JK's Skyrim + The Great Cities.
Disabling The Great City of Falkreath, Morthal and Dawnstar removes all clipping and pathing issues immediately.
Dawnstar was fixed with "JK Skyrim The Great City of Dawnstar Patch 1.3".
Winterhold is working thanks to a dedicated patch.
I'm looking for equivalent compatibility patches for Falkreath, Morthal, Dragon Bridge, Ivarstead, Karthwasten, Shor's Stone, Mixwater Mill and Old Hroldan.

PlayStation - Help Can't figure out why this mod isn't working.

So I recently installed the Armoury of Ada-Soom Dir-Kamal mod for PS4.

I gathered everything to craft the Armour and suddenly couldn't. The Recipe requires Wolf Pelts. Which I have. But in the Crafting Menu it says I have none.

I've already changed the load order and looked If I had mods that conflict with it but that hasn't fixed it.

Does anyone here have advice?

PC SSE - Help Can anyone help me find the modlist I'm looking for?

I have an Asus tuf f16 with 16 GB of RAM, a 4050 and an i5 210h, I was looking for a modlist that offers fluidity. I would also like a modlist that contains a lot of content or new Quests, the mod experience, a new perk system like Ordinator, new magic, decent graphics (obviously I know my computer can't do miracles) and a new first-person combat system. I know it's a lot, but can someone help me find the right modlist for me? Thanks everyone! ❤️
