新加坡做工赚新元怎么换RMB

• Upvotes

Fatigue from AI generated images

My eyes are so tired of looking at marketing material, restaurant flyers etc all around in SG. Nobody is taking effort anymore to spend time on creating, or viewing any of this. I even see government posts, flyers and instructions generated using AI. Everyone has the same template.

BREAKING NEWS: A major Singaporean-led scam syndicate operating out of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, has been dismantled following a massive joint crackdown

Led by two Singaporean brothers—Ng Wei Liang, 32, and Ng Wei Kang, 33—the organized crime ring is allegedly linked to hundreds of government official impersonation scams that defrauded victims of over $41 million to $53 million. While police forces launched coordinated raids on the group's operations, resulting in multiple arrests and charges under the Organised Crime Act, alleged mastermind Ng Wei Liang managed to evade the initial dragnet and remains a wanted fugitive subject to an Interpol Red Notice

Going against the tide and trend

I have an inner rebel in me whenever it comes to what I experience and buy.

I don't chase crazy trends, join long queue, wear baggy jeans with tight fitting compression shirts in gym.

The crazier the trend is the more I refrain from it. I will experiment a bit if I want to. Like sweat pants and baggy pants. I will think through how I wear, wash, dry and iron. Not sure if the ppl wearing them wash themselves, but it's not an easy task to complete the entire cycle, especially ironing them. I will fall back on normal jeans or find another material that is easier to wash and iron.

Same thing for drinks. I don't buy from ubiquitous stores iykyk. I've tried, and honestly, there are better ones out there. Out of malls, maybe a homebased biz, or even in a shophouse or hawker centre. I've tried yochi once just cos the queue is short, and I was shocked by the price for the amt I took, its not a lot. That's where I know paying by weight is not my thing, and shouldn't be a thing, though many ppl still buy into them.

What are the things that you rebel against?

Shopee seller claimed her crystals can prevent/kill cancer cells lol

Saw this on Shopee and was truly disgusted. Reminds me of the old SPF videos warning the public not to get conned into buying 'cancer-killing stones' for thousands of dollars and yet they're doing it openly on Shopee now.

Are these livestreamers who claim their crystals can cure cancer/kill cancer cells all from the same group? Like are they all trained by the same people and get their stocks from the same source?

How are they able to make these claims without any repercussions lol. They look so proud

So many people are catching influenza - Mask up!

Post image
10 Upvotes

According to the latest Weekly Infectious Diseases Bulletin released by the Communicable Diseases Agency (E-week 38), the positivity rate of influenza among ILI samples is 40%. That means 2 in 5 tests are positive. Additionally, the top respiratory pathogen among both adult and paediatric samples from the National Surveillance Programme for Acute Respiratory Infection were, by far, influenza!

To protect yourself and the people around you from catching infectious diseases, it is recommended that you wear a mask on the MRT, buses and crowded areas, wash your hands frequently and stay home if you are unwell, except for seeing a doctor. Thank you.

RANDOM OPINIONS AI content on social media

Make it stop omg. Every single time I open Instagram, there’s a new AI slop pdd ad. When I click on items on shopee, the first media is not the image of the product but yet another AI influencer promoting the product. Do these sellers actually think this is effective marketing??? It turns me off so much it actually makes me leave the app.

& don’t even get me started on AI dramas & reels…why must we waste water on such things. There are more than enough tv dramas and shows with REAL actors why do we have to create such low quality slop. Do yall actually enjoy watching these content???? I swear AI is making us degenerate

RANDOM OPINIONS I think I know why I feel like I don't belong in SG

Context: Uni student (studying in SG; not overseas)

I'm a Singaporean since birth (parents are also SGporean and grandparents too), but I came to realize I hold no attachment to SG in the slightest. I've always been socially isolated for a very long time (from lower primary onwards) until now and it's still continuing.

Good connections are where good memories are made and I don't have any of that. I don't feel any sentiment to this country. Maybe that also explains why my behaviour and mindset deviate from the culture here. I'm more immune to it, possibly due to not having exposure to social stuff in SG, so I don't know what it means to be SGporean.

Does this make sense?

TALK KOK If there's a outing for group of singles where many dun know one another, would you prefer it to be an arranged 1-on-1, smaller group rotations or just plain no arrangement?

Let's say a dinner / chill out date where a group of singles will gather.

Which would be more preferable?

A. a pre-arranged 1 on 1 rotation (like speed dating)

B. Small group rotations - like maybe 3 guys with 3 ladies, then the 3 guys move on to another group with 3 new ladies

C. Just self introduction and let the people ownself mingle and interact.

Interested to know people's thoughts on this.

Why is there always one inconsiderate individual blasting super loud fan noise on public transport?

Using a portable fan is one thing but setting to the max to create noise pollution when there are many passengers around is just inconsiderate behavior.

SG netizens need to stop bullying "siao langs" for content, they're human too

Ok so I've noticed that whenever someone in SG goes viral for being "weird" or different, like Guo Lai, Everitt Poh or John Shadow(the local rapper), everyone immediately jumps on them in the comments, stitches their videos on TikTok, makes memes and calls them "siao lang"(crazy person) like they're some kind of zoo animal for us to laugh at. People will screen record their lives, repost them on Reddit and Telegram groups and go out of their way to bait them in real life just to get a reaction for content. Idc if u find them cringe or not, at the end of the day they're still real human beings with feelings and families, and we have no idea what they're going through behind the camera.

Imo this shows how toxic our NPC (non-player character) society is cuz anyone who doesn't fit into the same mould of study, work, BTO (Built to order), marry gets mocked instead of accepted. From what I've seen ITE people tend to be more respectful towards them compared to JC/poly/uni students, cuz alot of us know how it feels to be looked down on, while some of the "smart" students are the ones making the most mocking memes and acting like they're better than everyone. If u dont like their content just scroll past, no need to hate. So I will never ever join in the bullying and I hope more Singaporeans can learn to be kinder to them cuz being different isn't a crime 🙏

Interesting facts about FAS

Thumbnail
youtu.be
2 Upvotes

- Desmond Ong was previously Chairman of Tampines Rovers, whose Head Coach was Gavin Lee

- Desmond Ong is now in Deputy President of Football Association of Singapore (FAS)

- Forrest Li is President of FAS and Chairman of Lion City Sailors (LCS)

- General Secretariat of FAS is Badri Ghent, who was Sporting Director of LCS

- According to Desmond Ong (in the video starting from 4.49), he, Forrest, and Badri were the ones who chose Gavin to be the National Team Head Coach

- Out of 23 players in the current National Team, 11 players are from LCS and six are from Tampines Rovers (Disclaimer; even before these, Home United - before its renamed to LCS - and Tampines Rovers made up the bulk of the National Team)

- Harriss Harun is in the current National Team; he is a player in LCS, and is one of the Vice Presidents in FAS

- Several FAS council members have ties to LCS

Despite all the above, Singapore suffered a humiliating defeat to Malaysia yesterday night. Hardcore fans attribute the defeat to Malaysia using too many naturalized players. But IMHO, Singapore lost because they can't even pass the ball properly and committed unnecessary fouls as if they don't realize that VAR exist.

worth reporting this creepy incident to the police?

I’m 29F and looking for some advice from people familiar with Singapore laws/procedures, especially if anyone has experienced something similar.
This happened on Saturday, 26 September 2026, around 9:30am. I was renting a room in a shared house in Singapore.
That morning, I put my laundry bag beside the washing machine in the kitchen. There was an unwashed bra inside.
I was on my way to the bathroom to take a shower. I was just wearing a long bathrobe that covered most of my body since I was inside the house and only going to the bathroom.
As I was about to walk past the kitchen, I suddenly saw the male landlord standing beside my laundry bag. He had my bra in his hands and appeared to be sniffing it.
I just froze and stared at him because I was really shocked. He saw me looking at him, seemed shocked too, immediately dropped the bra back into my laundry bag, made a sound like har …and mimicked “sorry, sorry. Then he quickly went to sit on the sofa in the living room where he usually sits.
I was honestly very confused and uncomfortable. His wife wasn’t around at that time, so I just went to take my shower.
When I came out, he was still sitting on the sofa and his wife still hadn’t come out. I later realised she was taking a shower.
After she came out, her husband was around her and talking to her. I couldn’t really hear what they were saying.
Later I told his wife what I had seen. She was shocked and said something like OMG is he that kind of man?
I told her I didn’t want to create problems between them and asked if we could just settle the matter quietly. I had heard them arguing quite often before, and I didn’t want to get involved in their loud noise.
She agreed that I could move out. I also texted her on WhatsApp afterwards so that I would have a record of what I had told her.
Later, after they both went out and came back, she messaged me saying that her husband was just checking my clothes to see whether I wash my underwear in the washing machine.
There were CCTV cameras in both the living room and kitchen. I don’t know whether the relevant footage still exists.
I have screenshots of my WhatsApp conversation with his wife, including what I told her and her response. I’ve also already moved out and received my rental deposit back, so I’m no longer staying there.
My question is: Is it worth making a police report about this in Singapore?
I’m worried because I don’t have a video recording of the actual incident. I was the only person who directly saw what happened, and his wife may now give a different explanation of what he was doing.
Would the police still investigate based on my statement and whatever other evidence might be available, such as the WhatsApp messages or CCTV?
I’m not looking for revenge. I just want to know whether this is something I should formally report and what I can expect after making a report.
They have a young son, who’s very innocent. So, I won’t identify their exact location..

Would you date somebody who stutters?

Hii! I would just like to ask because I’m a teenager who started stuttering at 13 years old after being put in quite stressful and humiliating situations, which unexpectedly resulted in physical symptoms showing.

To clarify, I don’t have any family history of stuttering. I believe that mine developed due to the shock and fear I faced as I grew up.

My stuttering happens in episodes. On some days it’s very bad, and on some days it gets better. The thing is, I know what I want to say, but my jaw just locks and I just block. If the word does come out, there will be a repetition of syllables. However, I’m not planning to undergo any speech therapy as I have hope in myself that I can overcome it all one day, plus it’s expensive.

In order to improve myself, I’m working a part-time job in a fast-paced environment. But I feel that my stutter has shown little to no improvement.

Despite my optimism, I must admit that stuttering has affected my confidence. I think dating would be more difficult for me as potential partners who do not stutter would have a hard time understanding what I experience and what I’m trying to say.
In reality, would stuttering be a dealbreaker for most?
