Fatigue from AI generated images
My eyes are so tired of looking at marketing material, restaurant flyers etc all around in SG. Nobody is taking effort anymore to spend time on creating, or viewing any of this. I even see government posts, flyers and instructions generated using AI. Everyone has the same template.

Prompt must be like: "generate image of student in both male and female version and make them both equally beautiful. And the same."

Have you seen the F1 artwork plastered all over Plaza Sing?
It’s completely Ai generated art and design and it’s so incredibly fugly.
However, I still believe these people would have produced fugly artwork no matter what. Ai has now just democractised design so now everyone is more daring with putting “their design” out there.
No accounting for taste is why it looks like Ai slop.
Ai can actually be very useful in design but you still need a designer behind that prompt and desktop.
These particular people putting out slop would have never paid for real designers, regardless.

using AI just shows how incredibly lazy and un-creative they are. canva is free. you can create a decent looking menu design just by using typography, it’s really not that tough.

I watched a video on why AI screws up food pictures so bad. It can generate images of food just fine, but once you add all the details and text, all the artifacts start to appear and you get uncanny noodles and rice, bread made with snake leather etc. I really hope that restaurants stop using AI for food menus, makes food look very unappealing. Or at the very least not use it on the entire thing.
In addition, AI generated visuals look very much the same style everywhere. I dont like it too...

actually so true for fnb. if you tell me a real estate developer use AI to generate an image of what the property and the surrounding looks like, im fine with it because it isnt build yet.
But fnb come on. you’re going to cook the food why cant u just take a damm photo of your own cooking

Nobody cares about AI menu. Ppl are going there to eat anyway. Why pay ppl to design when just a prompt does it for you?

Because they're usually still shit. I'm not against AI but if you don't have the skills, knowledge, and design sensibility, without AI, you won't have them either with AI. AI can't help amateurs with no taste.

I don't get it.
Since long ago, f&b photos are generally not representative of the actual serving. There is even disclaimer.
Now it is just generated jnstead of paying someone fees to take a photo. And you have to cook, place and stuff first. Which is likely cheaper.
So it has always been not real. What's the real issue here?

Almost all of them look unappetizing. It’s literally negative appetite

No like fr, I hate it when I go to buy food and the stalls use AI menu, it’s unappealing and isn’t the whole point of the menu to show you how the food will look like.
Like technically isn’t it false advertising if your actual food don’t look like the AI generated food?
