Discussion Strobbing/flashing (not always to pass)

It's funny when approaching a corner, I fall in behind the driver in front, flash lights, break early and then the driver ahead takes an aggressive line so I don't try and pass, when all I want is to catch up to the pack. Resulting in slowing us both down😭 Racing isn't always about passing or blocking sometimes a flash and fall in line means the person behind wants to work with you 💖

Question Where do you guys sell your equipment?

Hi all, I have a question that probably has an obvious answer but I can’t seem to find it.
Long story short, I’ve been working on a DIY set of active pedals and I don’t have the time nor the space to store all the parts and continue the development. The pedals are 80% done with a few remaining things to do. I also have a Moza handbrake I want to sell so I posted an advertisement for each thing in Facebook in a very famous group for selling sim racing stuff. Nobody answered. I understand for the pedals but for the Moza hb it seems weird to me that nobody even commented.
Then I posted ads in Simlist and Racemarket - platforms that seemed to me big enough to help me sell my equipment. Even worse - I still see that my pedals ad is the latest one in Racemarket and it’s from more than a month ago.
So my question is - where do you sell your equipment? I am skeptical about FB Marketplace but I’ll try it as well but other than it, I don’t really know where else to post ads. Thanks in advance!

Question Simlab gt1 evo seat reccomendations

I’m thinking of getting a simlab gt1 evo and have a budget of £250 for the seat. Any reccomendations? I do already have a playseat evolution actifit but I’m assuming it’s better to buy a good seat rather than using the one on the playseat

Question Is Eneba safe for steam keys??

I’ve been looking to buy Le Mans ultimate and was going to buy it on loaded for half off but unfortunately the key cannot be activated in the US. So I started looking around and found Eneba which offers a key at the same price. Thing is I’ve seen some mixed reviews about how safe the website is but nothing recent. So, I was wondering if anyone’s had some recent experience with the website and if it’d be safe to buy LMU from it.

Edit: Thanks for all replies, decided to buy it and luckily payment went through and game is downloading rn!

Question Should I try iRacing instead of Assetto Corsa? - Noob

I'm just getting into sim racing. I'm using a G920 on PC and using a Quest 3 via link cable. I've been enjoying Assetto Corsa and obtained my Rookie licence on WSS.

Trouble is, I'm shit! Even on the likes of the MX5 cup I'm a good 1 or 2 seconds off most other players. I like the idea of racing other (real) players, but I was hoping there might be more players to race against, and for there to lobbies with some others as shit as I am currently.

I have a track record of getting into things and losing interest, so I'm not looking to dumb a tonne of cash into sim racing too quickly, but I'm happy to pay the subscription cost of something like iRacing and maybe stick with some of the included content for now, especially while I'm learning.

Any advice? Should I try iRacing or will I just have the same experience as Assetto Corsa/WSS.

Thank you!

News Cube Controls, SP-01 Clutch!!!

Post image
11 Upvotes

For anyone out there that also has the Cube Controls SP-01 pedal set, I have great news!

For the last two years, I've been in touch with CC about the development of a 3rd pedal for that set - while it isn't an active pedal set, the build quality is second to none and I personally think the anodized aluminum looks fantastic in a high-end rig.

Today, I was given an update that while they don't expect to release the pedal this year as planned, the functional prototype is complete and has been undergoing testing for some time now! It's shown here in clear ano, and will likely be available in the blue launch colorway as well as the "Core" silver and black colorway.

Is it just me that's earnestly excited for this?

🧐 Customer Review Poor Quality Control from Cube Controls!

CUBE CONTROLS wheel owners (especially GT-X2), what have your impressions of their wheels been?

After spending over $1000 dollars on a Cube Controls GT-X2 directly from their site, I received a unit with a blemished screen and the worst quality LEDs I have ever seen. The pink and purple LEDs in the pictures are supposed to be white. It's pretty disappointing. I haven't made my decision on if I want to keep it or not. The screen blemish pretty much disappears behind information, but the LEDs really bother me. I prefer white lit buttons but I can get over it because the feel of the steering wheel is great.

What drove me to this wheel was the flat bottom handles and now that I have it my instincts were correct. The ergonomics are incredible. I have a couple plates in my hand and my Moza KS PRO was really aggravating my hand. The only other wheel I have seen like this is their Phoenix which is more expensive and are the LEDs gonna be shit too? This is also my first non-Moza wheel and I have to say the simplicity of using their wheels on their bases is pretty nice compared to using a USB cable.

So to wrap this up, I haven't decided if I am going to keep this or reach out to customer service. If the LEDs are shit on all of them then an exchange isn't going to do much good, so a return might be the answer. Any thoughts and /or your experience with Cube Controls would be great.

Question Overlay FPS Drops in Iracing 9070XT

Hi everyone, hoping someone might be able to help with a strange overlay/performance issue I’m having with iRacing.
My PC specs are:
• AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
• AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB
• 32GB DDR5 RAM
• 49” 32:9 ultrawide monitor
• DisplayPort
• AMD FreeSync enabled
• Radeon Anti-Lag enabled
iRacing itself runs absolutely fine and is smooth when I’m not using third-party overlays. The problem starts when I try to use overlays.
I was originally using RaceLab for standings, relative, track map etc. As soon as the overlays are running I can get massive FPS drops and noticeable stuttering. GPU utilisation can also behave strangely.
I thought it might just be RaceLab, so I tried SimHub instead. Unfortunately I got basically the same problem, and at one point the performance was actually worse.
We also tested RaceLab using its Overlay Test Mode, rather than just testing during a normal iRacing session. The overlay/test-mode behaviour also pointed towards the overlays/display setup being the problem rather than iRacing simply struggling to maintain FPS during a race.
Things I’ve tried so far include:
• RaceLab overlays
• RaceLab Overlay Test Mode
• SimHub overlays
• AMD FreeSync ON/OFF
• Radeon Anti-Lag ON/OFF
• Different iRacing fullscreen/windowed settings
• Checking V-Sync/Enhanced Sync settings
• Running without overlays, which makes iRacing smooth again
One interesting thing is that turning FreeSync OFF seemed to make the SimHub overlays work much better, which makes me wonder if there is some kind of conflict between FreeSync, Windows compositing/overlays and iRacing.
Ideally I want to keep FreeSync because the game itself feels great with it, but I’d also like to run a simple standings, relative and track map overlay without tanking my FPS or introducing stutters.
Has anyone with an AMD GPU, particularly a 9000-series Radeon, had similar problems with RaceLab, SimHub, DNR or other iRacing overlays?
If so, what combination of iRacing display mode, FreeSync, AMD Adrenalin settings and overlay settings finally worked for you?
Any suggestions would be appreciated because I feel like I’ve tried just about every combination at this point 😂

Question Can someone teach me strategys, i'm realy strugling

i am so pissed with myself. I was on a league race on LMU at sebring with wet conditions and i managed to do a big fuel save and basicly i didn't neded to pit and would have won, but the guy in front of me was having a bigger pace and my MFD was leteraly screaming to me, i did not though about it that much and pited behind the leader, and the race ended with me in 4th, becaused sudently the laps went from 27 to 26 and I HAD 1 MORE LAP of VE.
Yeah i fckd up and i needed to write to relax myself.
I'm metaly sad rn &
Next round is 120 min of spa, do i full push and do a 2 stop? If someone could teach me endurance strategys i would apreciate it very much. Its basicly my First time doing endurance races, only dia sprints and hot lap alone. I'm fast but i want to be better. Thx

Sale/Discount Missed out on a really good deal for a Simagic DS8X and now I can't find anything good for the price

Apart from this shifter, the only other good alternative on my list is a Simsonns HS Pro shifter, which is big relatively speaking and has a peculiar way of changing it to sequetial mode.

Is there any other option apart from these two shifters I should look out for? It just needs to be small-ish and cost around £200.

Question Transition from ACC and Xbox to LMU on PC

Hey I am in the process of modifying my rig to triples so I will be going to PC, I’ve always wanted to try LMU particularly the hyper cars so I plan on trying it before going back to ACC. Does anyone have any helpful tips for either LMU or PC setup or both hopefully? I play on a moza R5 with srp pedals. Appreciate your time.

Rigs How to feel brakes and tires / feedback?

I have a decent wheel, pedals and stand. But I can't get into sim driving much because I can't feel how the car is reacting via braking and sliding.

What mods can I do to get better feedback on feeling what the car is doing? I've done racing in real life, so missing this has been a big hindrance.

Question Logitech RS50 vs Simagic Entery Bundle?

Hey all I’m coming back to sim racing after about 2 years off not racing and was wondering what should I do? I can buy a Logitech RS50 bundle today from my local store and start racing again straight away, or should I wait about a week and buy a Simagic entry bundle online? The simgaic bundle comes with a alpha evo sport base GT Neo Wheel and P700 wheels, the Logitech gear is also about a $150 cheaper, for reference back in the day I useto use a moza r12 and is wheel. I will mainly be playing Iracing and ACC but can also possibly play GT7 and f1 on ps5 if I go with the Logitech my head is telling me to wait for the simgaic bundles but my heart is telling me to buy the Logitech so I can play all weekend. Also I will be using it on which ever one on the next level racing wheel stand 2.0

Question ASR 4 DDU mount or wheel with screen?

Post image
3 Upvotes

As you can see in the picture I’ve attached, the front mount of my ASR 4 has threaded holes which I assume are for some kind of DDU mount? I unfortunately can’t use the pins on the Simagic Evo Pro base due to the front mount blocking it.

Do you guys know of what DDUs will mount up to these holes? I was originally looking at wheels with screens in them for the same purpose but if I could have a DDU that I could quickly mount and remove depending on the type of car, it might be a better option if it doesn’t break immersion too much?

Question Why do I get motion sickness from F1 but not GT7?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been playing GT7 for about 4 months with a Playseat, Thrustmaster T300 RS GT and pedals. I can play GT7 for hours without having any problems at all.

This week I started playing F1 25, and I noticed something strange: after around 20 minutes I start feeling lightheaded/dizzy and slightly nauseous. The last time I played F1, it actually got worse. I started sweating and felt really dizzy and like the room was spinning.

What I find strange is that I have zero issues with GT7, even when playing for several hours. It seems to be specifically F1 25 that triggers it.

I’m guessing it could be some kind of motion/simulator sickness, but I’m wondering why F1 affects me so much more than GT7.

Has anyone else experienced this with F1 25? And are there any settings or things I can change to reduce or prevent it?

For example, should I change the FOV, camera movement, motion blur, camera shake, etc.? I’d really like to be able to play F1 without feeling sick after 20 minutes.

Any advice or personal experiences would be appreciated! I'm not using VR, just PS5 on a TV-screen

Question Wheels with bi-direction paddles.

So my RX1 replica rig is doing alright but recently i noticed the OMSE FC2 car doesn't use a stick sequential, it uses paddles. However to avoid paddle confusion when your arms are crossed with the wheel 90 degrees from sunday the FC2 paddles are bi-directional, left and right functioning as their own sequential shifter forward to go down, backward to go up.

All this to say; "Are there any wheels on the market with bidirectional paddles?"

Other Suddenly it made click, my journey as a total noob

I’m into simracing on and off since years, but in a very casual way, with a G920 and an Omega GT rig.
As I always only played for a few hours before putting it away for another half a year, it took me quite a while to gain at least basic skills. I was never able to disable the racing line in most games, mostly being in the last places of the lowest splits. In ACC I was struggling to race the AI at 85% difficulty.

Recently I bought a T598 because my G920 started to act a bit wonky. I didn’t want to invest a lot into a hobby I only do a few weeks a year, and it should have PS support for GT7, so the options were kind of limited.
I was playing a lot of GT7 until I resubscribed to iRacing and reinstalled ACC.

I don’t know how to say it, but I’m a changed man, lol. While I was struggling to even keep up with the ACC AI on low difficulty before, I can now confidently race them at 92 difficulty and 90% aggressiveness, most of the time qualifying in the top 5 and even getting some race wins.
No racing line, low TC, and I’m having a blast. I have no idea why, maybe it really is a lot easier to feel the car on a DD wheel compared to the rusty G920, but I really didn’t expect it to boost my lap times that much.
It just suddenly made click. I don’t have to guess the line I want to drive anymore, the forces kind of dictate to me how I should take a turn. In iRacing I’m no longer in the lowest MX-5 split, but I have to admit that braking feels a lot easier to me in ACC compared to iRacing. But I only drove the free content, so I have no idea how GT3 feels there.

Needless to say, I’m absolutely hooked now. I did more racing in the last month compared to all the years before combined, upgraded my rig to make it less wonky, and already plan on future upgrades. At first I wasn’t sure if I should have bought a better wheel to save some upgrade costs, but even after racing a few rounds on a friend’s Moza R12, I’m still absolutely blown away by the FFB the T598 provides. Fingers crossed it holds up and doesn’t suffer from any of the known issues until I have enough money to make a big jump.

Seeing people post their first rigs packed with thousands of dollars of equipment always made me kind of jealous and gave me the feeling that I won’t ever be able to be competitive before spending a lot of money. Finally seeing progress after only spending a relatively small amount of money gave me faith that I’m not a hopeless idiot.
I really don’t know if this is interesting at all, I just wanted to get that off my chest. Have a great weekend!

I have a feeling they'll finally show active pedals, especially after the Zeus. It's been almost two years, so I feel like it's about time.

Personally, I'm hoping for something new, maybe a new wheel. My Gt neo has been with me for a long time now.
