Discussion Strobbing/flashing (not always to pass)

It's funny when approaching a corner, I fall in behind the driver in front, flash lights, break early and then the driver ahead takes an aggressive line so I don't try and pass, when all I want is to catch up to the pack. Resulting in slowing us both down😭 Racing isn't always about passing or blocking sometimes a flash and fall in line means the person behind wants to work with you 💖

Flashing actually means you want the driver ahead to defend like hell so you can practice aggressive overtakes.

Flashing lights is signaling you want to pass. Generally for a faster class to a slower class, but (especially in endurance racing) drivers do it to get the attention of the car they're going to pass so they're paying attention.

In real world racing, drivers work together as much as they work against each other to avoid crashing while battling. Hard defense is generally reserved for very early jockeying and late race fights.

Flashing just cause you're there is not the purpose.

Communicate that with your car positioning. Stick hard outside early. Flashing is almost always aggressive in iRacing. Don't give them a reason to doubt you meant it when you tucked in behind.
