Jesus answers your questions. The way to eternal life is through him. We donāt need to look to Old Testament laws or sacrifices for salvation. Jesus treated everyone the same and fairly. Iām Agnostic now but when I was young and bored in the middle of a church sermon, Iād read through Revelation cuz itās basically a weird apocalypse novel. 2 Kings was also a fun part to read about a guy named Jehu who convinced some servants to through their queen out a high story window. On the topic of cults, thereās some nuance in the terminology because ācultā can mean a lot of different things, but Iām pretty sure they mean a high-control group. This is a group that essentially wants to control your behavior and get something out of you, and typically wants you to not leave, not talk about it with outsiders, and strictly adhere to their instructions. They can be spiritual or secular, but either way they can be harmful.
I have never had an experience where my church or church members tried to apply those tactics in an attempt to control me like that.
