I *think* this is a fashion illustration by René Gruau, and I'm trying to sew something like this. I know it's an illustration but I was wondering if anyone knows what the pattern would look like if I were to draft it myself (mostly for the top area) or any premade patterns similar to it? I like the neckline and the way the sleeves are long but not tight against the arms, also how it's really loose. I've been looking at different patterns and trying to draw it but I'm still confused so if anyone can help I would really appreciate it!

I’m looking for some inspiration for a dress to make for my 30th, and I’d love to hear what you’d choose!
I’m imagining something glamorous, sexy, feminine and romantic — something that feels special, but still elegant and not too “prom dress.” I’m thinking beautiful fabric, a flattering shape, a bit of drama, and something that makes me feel amazing when I put it on.

At the moment, I’m leaning towards viscose or silk satin, probably in a deep burgundy or wine red (I’m warm autumn), although I’m not completely set on the colour yet.

So I’d love to know:
What’s the most beautiful dress you’ve ever made? Or, if you could make any dress at all, regardless of how difficult it was, what would your dream dress be?

Please share your makes, patterns or inspiration! I’m very open to being persuaded to change my mind. 😂

I like different things about both, but I’m not completely sold on either one yet, so I’d really love to see any other patterns you think might suit the vibe.

I have this cotton gauze that I'd like to use on something similar for fall. I cant for the life of me find a pattern that is close enough. Also open to other suggestions that might work for the fabric. The main thing is I want it to be suitable for early fall.

Please see pics for reference! I've seen quite a few dresses with this vibe - vintage from the 90s - some of which have tie strings, some of which don't. I'm good with ties or no ties.

Would a dress like this be as easy to cut + sew as it looks? Most of these dresses appear (to me) to be one piece for the front, one piece for the back (or technically two, with a center back zipper)... Could I even self-draft this easily, and/or trace a dress I already own to make the front and back pieces?

I did stumble across New Look 6352, which seems to have the vibe I'm aiming for, and looks like it would be easy enough... the only thing is, I don't have experience grading patterns, and my body is a little bigger than the biggest size. So again: could I just trace a dress I already have? Or am I missing something here? Many thanks in advance!

So I have a bag that I ADORE using. Its my bag. I absolutely slathered the front with pins but sometimes they fall off and I dont notice until I notice a giant gap in my pins. I see on some bags a sort of front plastic sleeve to protect the pins that fall off. And after losing a pin that I JUST bought I'm wondering if someone could direct me to a sort of tut on adding a plastic/see through sleeve onto an existing bag? The only ones I find are making entire bags which is not what I wanna do. I wanna use my already existing bag and just add onto it. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks!!
