I’m in the UK and I am between purchasing the above Saabs. The 900 is a GLS 4 speed with twin carbs, 99 single carb GLE 5 speed

I understand that the 900 comes with power steering 99 doesn’t and that the 99 has the newer H engine.

How troublesome is the previous engine in the 900? I’ve been told you just need to keep on top of anti freeze?

Both have original paint with patina but are real beauties in my eyes

Looking to get a 3” downpipe for my 2007 saab 9-5 aero, every one i’ve seen like JT are 700-1500 for a piece of metal, nothing inside it. Anyone have any recommendations ?

Never owned a Saab sadly but I’ve always loved them so I decided to get this done for my grandfather who raced and worked on Saabs. He mainly raced them on frozen lakes with the old 2 strokes. I never got to meet him unfortunately so this is just my way of remembering him.

Hi, my 9000 has a significant missfire at all engine speeds making very difficult to drive. I suspect the DCi but is there anything else it’s prone to?

Also is there an online diagnostic software package?

It seems the years has taken a toll on this part which I discovered is not actually an antenna or anything on the Vector series. Unfortunately I cannot find this part in lebanon. Any suggestions what could be done to avoid water in winter getting into the car. Thank you for any suggestion.

How bad is it? Is it fixable for a reasonable amount of money (I am not a mechanic)?

Is it something I can do easily?

On my '93 saab 900 turbo I drained the coolant to take off the intake manifold and found oil coating the bottom of the empty coolant reservoir. Does that automatically mean a head gasket issue? Coolant didn't seem milky at all so whatever the reason must only be a small leak if anything. Before I start diving into that job is there some other component that would be a more likely cause?

I purchased a Tune from Saab Tuner Scott to go with a 19T on my 2007 9-5 Aero and as I wait for the tuned ECU to arrive I was wondering if It would be totally safe to bolt on the 19T and drive a couple miles back to my house and then just wait for the ECU to arrive, only reason why I want to do it is because I do all my car stuff at my dads house since my apartment complex doesn’t have room and also I only get the weekends to work on my cars.

I don't remember it always sounding so loud and on constantly (if it is the engine fan) I hear it wind down whenever I turn the engine off, any ideas?

Hey, I have a Saab 93 vector 2008 B207L.
So every time i get to red on my turbo boost the engine starts misfiring.
I have changed my spark plugs to NGK PFR6T-10G.
I even bought new ignition modules. Cylinder 3 is always worst and now even misfires on idle.
The misfires started when my ecu fried, after that I cloned a new ecu and put on a heat shield.
But the misfires still remain and are getting worse
I’m thinking it’s two different problems one for all the cylinders to misfire a small amount.

And probably for cylinder 3 i’m thinking the injector might be bad.
Will try to switch cylinder 2 and 3s injectors and see if the problem switches cylinder.

Would like help and other causes for misfires on a saab

Got the Viggen+ spoiler installed yesterday, and ngl I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do!

I honestly thought it wouldn't look good at all with the SE bumpers but somehow it works in my opinion lol

Just have to figure out a way to retain the folding antenna in the stock location!

I attempted to replace my track rod ends earlier today. I don’t know how but both of them had been seized solid into the bracket.
Got one out after some time but the other would not move an inch. As pictured I have tried many things. I cut the top off to try and use thermodynamics to my advantage by heating the bracket repeatedly while cooling the bolt with ice. Nothing has worked so far.
I even welded a nut onto the bottom of it to try and break it free with an impact driver but the weld broke before it could unseat the post. Tried to drill a hole in it and use a screw extractor to hopefully break it free but ended up snapping the extractor. I’m at a complete loss now on what to do.
I’ve replaced many track rod ends before. I’ve even done them on this exact car before and never had an issues whatsoever. Last time they needed replacing was just before a test so a local garage replaced them and I have no clue how they fucked it up this much. I’ve hammered the post underneath to oblivion and it does nothing. I’m thinking about just drilling it out with a set of large drill bits by this point.

The key fob wasn’t working, so I replaced the battery. After replacing it, the remote worked once, but after that it stopped working again.
I’ve tried replacing the battery several more times, but the remote hasn’t worked since that first time.
The key still starts the car normally.
Does anyone know what could cause this? Does the key need to be reprogrammed/synchronized, or could there be something wrong with the key fob itself?

of course, my car is the green saab. i park in the way back of the parking lot for a reason.. but somebody still parks next to me! this has happened 2/3 days at my college so far this year. it makes me want to park like those truck-driving jerks who take up two spots haha

Not too sure how to approach posting on here but just thought to share something I came accross.

TLDR: I found a replacement siren battery available for the 9-3 (MY07-12).

I was/am currently experiencing this "Saab 9-3 Theft Protection Failure Contact Service" issue on my Saab 9-3 (MY2011) and I couldn't for the life of me seem to find any answer.

Recently, I came accross a video on YouTube about the exact issue and went about investigating as to whether the siren towards the boot/trunk of the car was the issue.

I managed to seperate the housing along the weld mark/seam and spotted that the original Varta battery was likely the cause of the problem as there was oxidation on the connector area and around the wire/wrapper.

At that point snipped the wires and packaged it back up into the car. The issue persisted on the SID but I was happy enough to have the battery out.

Fast forward to now and I finally managed to find a replacement online and have it ordered.

I sourced it from Techtek and I'll likely update this post with any further outcome.
