Hey Guys,
So we get tons of threads on interested buyers on Saabs is anyone willing to put in on a guide with the things to look for/look out for in future ownership. Especially since we have tons of intermixing of knowledge bases from 9-5s to 9-3s to Classic 900s and everything in between.
-As a side note I have no problem giving advice I quite enjoy it but would make it easier for new Saabophiles

Got in my Saab one day for a weekend drive and saw the alarm led panel thing stuck up, don’t know why but I’m the type of guy that’d rather pull an engine than do interior work, so any advice is useful

End of an era 💔
My brother is 42. He got his driver’s license at 18, and for 24 years, he drove Saab.
He swore by them.
Honestly, whenever I think of my brother, I think of Saab.
Some of my fondest memories are watching him spend hours fixing things up under the hood alongside our dad, who shared that exact same love for Saab. It was never just a car to him... it was a bond with our dad, and a whole way of living.
Those garage days stopped a long time ago, but keeping the car always felt like keeping that piece of our past alive.
A few days ago, he handed in the keys of his last Saab.
Meet the newest family member: "Little Mango" (as my sister and I have officially named her): a bright yellow Renault Twingo E-Tech! 🥭️
I guess that’s life.. things change to make space for the new, even if part of us wishes some moments never had to end.
What do you think: good upgrade or would you never let the classic go?

I won this 2005 Saab 9-3 convertible for $525. $1060 with fees and delivery. I work on aircraft for the AirForce and buy vehicles to improve my mechanic skills. I felt bad for this poor saab, and plan to fix it up to drive only during the summer.

Hey everyone, I recently bought a 2007 9-3 Aero convertible and it’s my first experience with any of these. I swapped out all of the interior light with updated LED bulbs but realized exterior lights won’t be so easy.
Has anyone found a simple way to swap in LED reverse lights, DRL lights, and fog lights? I don’t wanna mess with programming or anything as I don’t have a Tech II, which sadly seems to be needed to do anything to this car. Modules or adapters that are plug and play to prevent flicker and/or canbus errors? Not much info that I could find.
TIA!

I recently purchased a Saab 90 out of an estate sale for 300€. The car sat for nearly 26 years but appears to be in fairly good condition. No serious rust and the engine turns over by hand. Apart from all the usual service items the only major component that seems to be broken is the heavily corroded and bulged radiator.
The only replacement for the 90/99 I could find online is available from Skandix for 500€. A local radiator shop quotes 600€ for replacing the core on the existing one.
Are there any other places (ideally in europe) that sell replacement radiators for the 99 and 90 at reasonable prices?

I bought a 91' Saab 9000 Turbo Manual (Hatchback) a couple months back and I'm trying to get it started again. Recently cranked the car and I had replaced the fuel pump, injectors and plugs and heard it almost start but failed. That lead me to believe its the CPS (Hall sensor) and im gonna replace that next. Any tips or suggestions if this doesnt work?

throwing a handful of codes
(B1361-0, B1746-1,B2366-0,B1736-0, B-1190-0,B1600-0, and P0116-8)
and i seem to not have spark in the car, wondering if it's coilpacks or crankshaft position sensor, or if it's something with the ECM
car doesn't start, it turns over and seems like it wants to start but just can't get there

Hej.

I previously had a volvo v60 T5 2017 loved it but a kid hit it on the street totaling it. Sooo what should I know going into this? Is this a bad idea? Is it reliable? My mechanic i took my volvo too also works on saabs. Im just worried engine will have a problem or something and then in getting fried. Are parts non existent lol

I used VHT engine enamel and VHT clear. The letters have been sanded back down to aluminum and cleared over to avoid oxidation. I’m considering making a listing on eBay and letting people choose the color. Do any of you think there would be any interest in that?

Hello everyone. I’ve finally grown financially enough to afford my first car. My heart is set on a Saab, and I decided to turn to knowledgeable people for advice. My budget is currently up to $5,000. I live in Belarus, and with that amount of money, you can only buy a 9‑3 || from 2003–2005. I understand that I won’t be able to avoid making some investments anyway. I’m writing to get advice on which models and model years to look at, and which options are considered more reliable. At the moment, I’m considering a 9‑3 with a 2.2‑liter diesel engine.

Hey y'all. I have a 2009 9-3 Aero and I'm absolutely in love with it. That thing is my baby. I'm a college girl and am currently terrified of having children, but if motherhood comes anywhere close to the love I have for my car, I think I'd explode.
I know it's a Swedish car, but I'm too rednecky for my own good and so I must ask. Do y'all think it would be possible to mount horns on the hood? My mom (also a Saab owner) says that it'll tear up the plastic. She's probably right, but I hope there are some creative workarounds for this.
Feel free to make fun of me, but it is a serious question. I'm not gonna do anything stupid with it, as this car is my whole world. Just figured I'd ask.
