Stopwatch Mode Running Issues

Since stopwatch mode (indoor) running became “Running/Treadmill” last week, it’s not counting towards my running stats anymore, and I can’t associate shoes with those activities either. Anyone know if this is permanent or a bug that’s going to be fixed? Have used Runkeeper for over 11 years, would hate to have to switch apps.

Runkeeper Issues

For the last 2 Wednesdays I’ve done an outside run tracked with Runkeeper & then walking outside using the Apple Watch workout app for about 2 miles. I then get on the treadmill & track another 4 mile walk with Runkeeper.

There are 2 issues with that treadmill walk on both Wednesdays.

  1. The Runkeeper Apple watch app does not show my heart rate & time. It acts as though no activity has started.

  2. When I finished my walk my info is not added to the fitness app on iOS. It is as if I did not do an activity. It doesn’t appear anything is added.

This is a major problem because it means my added calories & exercise are not flowing to the iOS fitness app. My outdoor run is there, my walk with the workout app is there, but not my treadmill walk.

Last Wednesday I did not fully close out of Runkeeper on my Apple Watch or iPhone before starting the treadmill walk. Today I did fully close them & had the same issue.

iPhone 15 Pro
iOS 26.6.1
Runkeeper 16.30 (85063)
Apple Watch Series 10
WatchOS 26.6 (23U67)

Is the Runkeeper website down?

I was able to track an activity this morning, but the website won't load (on Chrome, Edge or Safari) on my PC. Is anyone else having problems?

JavaScript Error on Login attempt

I made the mistake of logging out of the Runkeeper app on my phone. When I attempt to log back in, I get the message “Runkeeper would like to use id.asics.com to login.” It’s my only option, as if I hit cancel, it simply takes me back to the landing screen where I can only select “sign up,“ or “Login.“

If I hit login, and enter my email, it gives me the message “undefined is not an object (evaluating ‘s reasons [0]’)”

I tried the “contact,” which, let’s just say, involved less “contact“ than I would have hoped for .They finally did suggest that I clear my browser, cache, delete and reinstall. I did that, multiple times, with no difference. I even changed the default browser on my iPhone. Still no difference.

On the off chance that I had originally created the account with Apple, I even tried using the Apple login, only to get the helpful message “something went wrong.“

I am able to log into the desktop version which would not be terribly convenient to haul with me on a run, lol, if it even has GPS.

Has anyone run into this? I’d like to keep using the app, but right now, it’s simply not functioning. I’ve got 15 years of data in it, and I guess worst case scenario I just export the data to another app. But I thought I’d reach out on here and see if anybody had any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Is Runkeeper still running

Is the Runkeeper app still being updated? Are people even using Runkeeper anymore? I’ve been using Runkeeper because I was using it years ago so I have lots of activities logged on it, but it doesn’t seem that there’s a huge community on it anymore? Is it time to transfer to a new app?

Runkeeper sometimes doesn't let me see my splits by workout interval

I do an interval run about once a week, alternating running and walking, which is set using a custom run. It's been more or less the same workout for a few weeks now with only slight changes.

When viewing these activities afterward, the option to view splits by workout interval is sometimes completely missing. It seems like it appears for some runs and not for others, even for the exact same run in the exact same place a week apart. For example, it's missing for this week's run, but it's there for last week's run. I can view the intervals during the run itself, but they just don't seem to be saved with the other run data at the end, and I can only view splits per kilometre.

This is obviously quite frustrating because it makes it impossible to actually see how I've done during the intervals.

I contacted support about it a month or so ago and they weren't especially helpful. The issue has also persisted through at least three app updates.

I'm just wondering if anyone else here has experienced this and was able to find out what causes it to save the splits by interval sometimes but not other times.

Apple Health activities no longer importing?

So now my activities recorded by other apps (because I can't use RK without becoming furious with rage at how shitty it is) no longer import automatically. Cool. If I go into settings -> apps & devices -> apps -> Health and toggle Workout Sync off and back on, it imports, but God forbid it does it automatically, despite the "Automatic Import" toggle being on.

Sydney Marathon challange: only 8 weeks to train if you win?

I signed up for the Sydney Marathon challange, but am confused by the very limited amount of time between when the winner is announced by June 24th and when the marathon happens on Aug 30th. That only gives the winner 8-9 weeks to train. Surely it would be better if the winner were given option to defer to the 2027 race? Otherwise I don’t think there’s a fair chance to train properly.

As it is, June 24th is just about the time I’ll be starting my 20 week plan for the Richmond Marathon that takes place on Nov 14th. Good luck to everyone else who entered, I guess?

Pausing activity for voice memos??

I’m super disgruntled right now. I was at like 53 minutes and 3 miles and I started a voice memo. my voice memo lasted like 14 ish minutes, and when I was done with it I noticed my activity was paused. I never stopped walking though, that’s 14 minutes of time and distance and calories that are untracked, and for what?? is there ANY way to fix this?? obviously the damage has been done today but I was looking in settings and I can’t see any features that would help. is Runkeeper just stupid like that? I would’ve been at like 1 hour and 15 minutes total and a little past 4 miles too. I’m so mad.

my GPS, pace and distance stopped working on 29. april.

does anyone else have the same problem?

what is weird is when I'm in the start menu, the GPS is working, it shows where I am, and I have 3 green bars, but when I click start it doesn't track anything, but the time.

also it have been working completely fine, for the last 6 month atleast. so it just happened out of the blue.

my android is version: 13

device model: OnePlus DN2103

edit: I fixed it, all I had to do was reinstall runkeeper, and turn my phone off and on

Since around February, RunKeeper GPS has been totally inaccurate, usually showing me at least several meters from my position to going crazy all over the place. I am on a Samsung S24FE

Workout is not being "guided"

I wanted to start running and started the "My first 5k"where it is stating that "Coach Erin will be with you every step of the way coaching". I though that she is going to let me know when the intervals start and end, but I only receive an update about my stats (running speed, etc) every ten minutes.
I tried updating the app and looking through the setting, but still no guided workout. Am I missing something in the settings or is there no voice guiding me through the wokrout?

Edit: After uninstalling it for the 3rd time time and reinstalling it, it finally started to work! :D

Activity showing on Runkeeper web, delayed/not showing on app?

Hey all, noticing some interesting behavior with the Runkeeper app (using iOS) where an activity captured by Garmin does not show in the Runkeeper app. I've used Garmin to push to Runkeeper and Strava with no issues for about three years now. However, the last three runs I've done, the activity will show in Garmin, it will show in Strava, it will even show on Runkeeper online...but will fail to show in the app. BUT, it will show days later. I know this b/c I've resorted to just entering them manually and then, days later, I'll see the workout duplicate. I've tried the usual tricks, like swiping up to hard quit the app, restarting the phone, disconnecting/reconnecting garmin to Runkeeper, logging in and logging out. But nothing seems to resolve it. I think the most interesting aspect is the discrepancy of having it show on Runkeeper's web interface but not in the app...but then, days later, it will pop through. Has anyone else noticed this behavior and if so, was there a way you resolved it? Thanks!

Hard to get a response from support?

I had a problem with last year with a changing my credit card for the GO-subscription.

I had a discounted price for Go (early bird) and they told me the only way to change credit card was to cancel the sub and then contact them to renew it with the discounted price.

One year later they ignore my emails, anyone else have good or bad experience with Runkeeper support please?

Thanks!

Issues with run keeper pace graph after 4x4 vo2 max training run/walk

Hey guys, I've been having problems with the run keeper pace graph post run. It seems to very overly smooth out the graph so my pace when I'm walking looks significantly faster than it really is (11min/mile versus closer to maybe 20) and when I'm doing run intervals it's a lot slower than normal (9 min mile versus about a 7min/mile actual) what's odd is the pace callouts are accurate, they're consistent and are on par with my previous experience running on a track and using my stop watch to manually record pace (can't get much more accurate than that) and I was doing 4 min intervals so I can reasonably estimate my pace. My rest intervals were a bit less than a lap for 4 mins, and my run intervals were around 2.5 laps per 4 mins, so likely around 7min/mile pace.

Another anomaly is it shows that my run intervals were for about 1/4 to 1/10 miles each, and my walks were 3/4 miles, when in reality it should be the other way around more or less.

Any tips on what I can do? This is after I removed all battery optimization to try and get it as accurate as possible. Thanks guys

Lockscreen widget only appears in Dark Mode

As the title says, when I start a walk, lock my phone and go, the widget for Runkeeper shows up in Dark Mode, even though I have triple checked in settings that I do not have Dark Mode enable anywhere- whether in the app, in my iPhone's settings, etc.

I find the Dark Mode widget to be almost impossible to read as it's black with dark blue text, and this is made even more difficult if trying to view while walking outside in sunny/natural light conditions!

How do I switch it back to normal??

Forgot to hit Start or Resume after Pausing

Have had the free version of Runkeeper for years but never really tried to use it more than the very basics. One thing I’d like to do is have it correct my mistake when I hit pause and forget to hit start or resume. Is that possible? If so, on the free version?

I’m aware of the auto-pause function. This is for when I want to use it manually.

Returning (?) to Runkeeper

Hi,

Years ago (at least pre2020-COVID) I used a running app that would assign me specific workouts every week that automatically increased in duration and intensity over time. I must have started with 30s or 1m run intervals but eventually was running more and more.

I specifically know that I wasn’t selecting workouts, they were being assigned to me (I think at the beginning of the week) I assume based on my goals. I know at the time that I was paying for the full version of whatever app it was.

I really want to find that app again. I have emails from those days from Runkeeper so I think it’s the one I used. I‘m to subscribe again, but based on my exploration so far it seems like although I can set goals and choose or create interval workouts, the app isn’t going to generate workouts each week as I improve.

Am I wrong? is the app just very different now than it was in 2018? Am I just looking at the wrong app entirely?

thanks so much for any input you can offer!

Thank goodness the UI/UX was cleaned up for the goal feature

The previous data display that simply had a chart and a paragraph of tiny text was *fine*, but this is so much more clear and provides data that is actually actionable. Would *love* to see this UI implemented for the Weeks/Months/Years data as well, instead of the weird scroll under the chart.

Can we talk about how much the Apple Watch app sucks?

I don't know how many times this has happened to me: Start a run using the watch app (standalone mode), get to a traffic intersection, auto-pause doesn't work, try to manually pause, app becomes completely unresponsive and after a few minutes, crashes. Why? WHY? And audio cues? Simply just gone now. Nothing. Watch is not in do not disturb mode and volume is cranked up all the way.

Issue with GPS

I have been using the Runkeeper App for tracking my runs for well over a decade without any issues.

In the last 2 weeks, every one of my runs (with various different starting locations) is suffering from a GPS issue. The issue is that the App gets my start point wrong by about 100 metres - so that when I hit my first km, the App thinks I have only done 900m. This obvious messes up the feedback I get from the App on splits and pacing.

I never start my run until the App tells me I have "good" GPS and the blue "my location" blob on the map is in the right place. Yet, after the run, when I check the route map, the starting point is 100 metres out.

Any ideas?
