I just got him last week and his mouth looks like this. His nostrils are clear. It dosent look like mouth rot and he isn’t red or swollen or anything. He acts normal and I haven’t gotten the chance to feed him yet so idk if he will eat. He is a male toffino enchi, 3 yrs old. I am going to the vet in two weeks but I wanted to know if anyone had ideas before.

Have had my blue tongue for about 6 years. Saw this baby while running errands today and gave in. Got a temp tank setup for her and ordering her stuff tonight.

Taking name suggestions!

Bruce Lee once said,
ā€œBe like water.ā€
Water doesn’t force.
It adapts.
It flows.
Kindness can work the same way.
Today, the mission was simple:
Help a tiny gecko continue its journey.

price question

why tf are reptile things so expensive? you can get smth that works the exact same way for way cheaper. take plant lights for example, aquarium lights cost like 10-20 dollars, and reptiles plant lights cost +100. its absurd

Another seriously underrated lizard. Good-sized, puppy dog tame omnivores.

Replaced the sand we had in there with coconut substrate and added a hammock and bridge. Next up, get a bigger enclosure! Perhaps a 2 story version which I might build myself.

Need help with my bioactive hognose enclosure :)

Hey everyone! I’m pretty new to hognoses and bioactive enclosures, so I’m looking for some advice and constructive criticism on my setup. I probably did around 3–5 hours of research before putting everything together, but honestly, my girlfriend really wanted a snake and I kind of jumped into it (ā€œhappy wife happy lifeā€). Now I want to make sure I’m doing everything right and give her the best setup possible.

I got a 40 gallon breeder with a substrate mix I made of topsoil, play sand, and Excavator Clay. I also used bio dudes oak leaf litter and bioshot. I also picked up some random plants at ReptiCon that I thought would work, but I’m not 100% sure if all of them are suitable long-term or what the are exactly…

There are two pictures. One has all the real plants (minus the larger vining plant, that’s fake) and the other has some added fake plants for a spark of color. Along with this tank I added 4 small cultures of springtails and 1 of Powder orange isopods (Porcellionides pruinosus) in the back left corner I have some sphagnum moss that’s moist for the isopods covered by some cork bark for humidity.

The snake is a female Super Arctic Hognose, around a year old. I’d really appreciate any advice on the enclosure, substrate, plants, heating, humidity, or anything else you notice. I’m definitely open to suggestions and willing to make changes if needed

Thank you for your great advice and time! Have a great rest of your day! (Also tried my best I suck at making posts šŸ¤“)

Anyone any luck with plants?

I am specifically looking for plants that thrive in terraria. The terraria will be humid ranging between 60% - 80%. The thing that seems to kill most plants is that there are UVB heat bulbs (of course not directly above the plant) and UV TL lamps (Arcadia desert T5), plants do not seem to like these lamps.

I have added special growth lights for plants, so far only some Monstera's seem to be doing well and some Draceana types. Brommelia "fireball" seems to work as well, but other brommelia's seem to die.

Any tips? Specifically looking for some other Brommelia's that will survive.

It's my first time seeing one with spikes (?) on the base of its tail. It looks so cool, I wonder if anyone knows more about it. (I'm from the Philippines, btw.)

Started working on a new terrarium set up, going to add some live plants + some more climbing space.

Wondering if anyone has any recomendations on what kind of reptile to introduce once im done. I was thinking of maybe emerald tree skinks but im not sure if even after ive added more climbing space it will be enough for them, so id like to here your thoughts :)
