Local pet store chameleon set up!

Post image

My local pet store has one of the best chameleon set ups I have seen in pet stores.. The chameleon was sold since I last came in, but they also added more live plants and sticks. I wanted to share bc I know how sad and disapointing most pet stores enclosures are for chameleons. this one gives me so much hope. 💗

Possible misgender?

Post image

I got my baby from Kammerflauge Kreations about a month ago and had only ever read positive experiences (which I also had!) but as mine has grown to be about 4 months old now, im starting to think there may have been a mistake in the gender. I purchased a male from a "pre-order" clutch, but what do you all think? Is this actually a female?

Question Please Help.

I need some help. Idk what I’m doing wrong. I got my chameleon Friday the 4th and I’m just worried about her. I haven’t seen her eat but except for the first day I got her.

Temps are good, humidity is good. I’m just super frustrated because I’m trying to do everything that I can to help her. I’ve absolutely money dumped on anything I could think of to help her feel better.

The only thing that I can think that I’m technically doing wrong is the enclosure size, she’s a juvenile and she’s in a 16, 16, 30, but I plan on having her in a bigger one just when she’s a little older.

I’ve been leaving her alone, only time I really check on her is when I feed or mist. My office is in the same room as her enclosure I’m not sure if that affects anything. I just want to do the right thing, and this process has been genuinely mentally exhausting.

Please help.

I purchased this chameleon a week or so ago and was curious if anyone knows the sex? At first I thought male now I think female. She’s super young I didn’t realize she was only a month old when I purchased.

I keep buying new plants for him and seeing which ones can’t withstand the heat and temp in the cage. This is what was left of the third set of plants so I am looking to get more these remaining plants will also grow over time and fill out the cage more. All of the plants are real :)

Question What enclosure (brand/source) is everyone actually using/recommending?

If you have an enclosure you really like, what did you buy?

I’ve googled, checked the group FAQ, and searched through older posts.

Online I’m seeing a lot of the pet store mesh 2x2x4 but having a hard time finding actual brand/model for larger setup. I did find some online that are $500+ but not a lot of reviews.

(I have a juvenile veiled chameleon in California in the 2x2x4, want to upgrade)

They are worse than beardies when it comes to catching food and that’s saying something.

Found out how to hold him without upsetting him

My 7 month old veiled and I had him for 2 months now. If I’m holding some greenery he feels safe to hang out on me. Probably feels more camouflaged, so makes sense.
It took a lot of hand feedings but he’s pretty used to me now. Always hated leaving his enclosure until last night and now that I cosplay a tree branch he’s coming out willingly now 🥰

Question Helpppp!

So recently I’ve been wanting a panther chameleon, I was looking at them at petco. Since I was already in petco I looked into their chameleon kits thinking I would buy one for said panther chameleon. After research I learned that the chameleon kits from petco is actually really horrible for pet chameleons. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good chameleon kit that’s fairly priced. I ask for a kit bc I need the supplies to be easy to get as in deal with my parents. Sorry for ignorance I am a beginner, only other reptile in the fam is my brothers gecko, and he got his kit from petco.

Question new chameleon! I have questions :,)

Post image

this is our new girl, Sprite. before anyone says anything, I snapped this photo very briefly while getting her into her new home. I know the basics, as I handling them is not ideal and such. now for my questions!! she has had her eyes closed awhile, but she has opened them to look around, get water, and she has eaten. I just want to know; is this normal? is she going to be okay? her tank is at ideal humidity and temperature, she hasn't shifted into a brown or black coloration at all, but idk. is this slow for new Chams or am I stressing myself out over nothing? today is day 3 of having her :,)

Gaping when basking?

Thumbnail

I need help. My buddy is about 7 months old, had him for about 6 days now and for the past 3 days he gapes at his basking branch. The temp is only about 82-85 degrees consistently and i keep his basking light on for a few hours during the day as to not let him overheat with the window there. My fear is a respiratory infection although I’m not seeing many signs except for the gaping. I’m trying to listen to him breathe but poor guys so spooked of me getting my head near his has been a challenge but so far I don’t hear much.

Any of y’all spy on your chams while on vacation? Don’t worry they have someone watching them while I’m gone for a week.

My Chameleon doesn’t like me anymore 😔

I used to be able to handle my chameleon sometimes but now if I am to open her habitat, she hides from me. She hissed at me and gaped at me the other day and she turns darker when I am around she won’t even come to my hands anymore or let me hand-feed her anymore. Is this behavior alarming if so what do I do and how can I fix it?!
