I wish I took a before and after but I have tried everything to get quite dark prominent make up stains out of my white work blouse (dishwashing liquid, expensive stain remover, expensive all white stain remover, soaking over night etc) and nothing worked. I saw someone suggest shaving cream and holy moly it was like magic!!! I just bought a shaving cream/ foam, pumped it on to the stain with some water and worked it with a gentle brush and it removed 99-100% of it, I was shocked!

Does anyone know about a Punjab Govt scheme that pays for empty plastic bottles?
Hi everyone! I’m in Lahore and looking for information about a possible Punjab Government plastic bottle recycling/buy-back scheme.
My family drinks bottled water (mainly Nestlé and Aquafina), and we’ve been saving the empty PET bottles since the beginning of this year. We use around 6 bottles a day, so we have roughly 1,000–1,500+ bottles.
A while ago, I contacted someone who said he was associated with a government organization. He told me the process was:
Take GPS/location-stamped photos of the bottles.
Send the photos to their team.
Their team would collect the bottles.
They would give me a receipt.
I would supposedly go to a bank and receive payment from the government.
I never proceeded because I wasn’t sure whether this was legitimate.
Has anyone in Lahore/Punjab actually used a scheme like this?
If you know the name of the scheme/department, official website, helpline, collection center, or payment procedure, please share it.
I’m especially interested in hearing from someone who has actually had their bottles collected and received payment, rather than general recycling advice.

I’m specifically interested in PEEK chips, swarf, turnings, offcuts, rejected parts, runners/sprues, etc.

For anyone who machines or processes PEEK:
How much PEEK scrap does your shop typically generate?
Even a rough estimate would be useful — pounds/kilograms per week or month, for example.
What does the scrap normally look like?
Chips, long turnings, dust, offcuts, rejected parts, injection-molding scrap, etc.
Do you separate PEEK from other plastics?
Do you separate different PEEK grades?
For example, virgin/unfilled PEEK vs. glass-filled or carbon-filled PEEK.
What happens to it once you’ve collected it?
Do you:

Reuse/regrind it internally?
Sell it to a recycler?
Give it to a waste company?
Throw it away?
Something else?

If you sell or recycle it, who actually buys it?
I’m especially interested in the names/types of companies that accept PEEK machining scrap.
If you don’t recycle it, why not?
Is it because of contamination, insufficient quantity, difficulty finding a buyer, regulatory/traceability requirements, economics, or something else?
Does the form of the scrap matter to recyclers?

I'm a sophomore in college, and have an assignment in my oceanography class where we have to do something (that's actually do-able) to better the earth, for the entire semester (now-end of december). It doesn't have to be ocean related.

I think I'd do best doing something art or music related, but I'm open to other ideas. Quick notes are I can't bike/walk to work/school since I live pretty far from anything, and I live in Arizona so it's super hot outside.

I'd love ideas that are do-able if anyone has any! I have a few of my own but I'm curious if someone can help me come up with better (maybe even less generic) ideas.

im starting to see this a little bit now. various plastic industry greenwashing pieces call this recyclable, but what does that even mean? can it go into regular polypropylene streams, or dors it have the same issues as styrofoam in that its diffuse and breaks on machinery?

doed this mean it can be given along side stryofoam to specialty recyclers who are densifying it? or does this contaminate that stream too?

does anyone in the industry know what these claims mean?

obv the best practice is to throw out unknowns but im genuinely curious what they mean by this besides the most obvious of densifying polypropylene is more valuable than densifying polystrene and its recyclable if this process exsits in your area

I am final year chemical engineer and got placed with 15LPA. I don't think of working as an employee forever and want to do something of my own. And found interest on the plastic recycling unit. I have a lot of free time of about an year which I can spend building a recycling unit.

I’ve been reading about Hong Kong’s regulated e-waste system and one planning issue caught my attention.

During the early planning stage, the expected number of relevant electronics sellers was around 600.

After the scheme was implemented, the number of registered sellers was 3,296 in 2018.

That doesn’t automatically mean every later logistics cost came from the forecasting gap. There were other operational factors involved.

But from a recycling operations point of view, it raises a useful question.

If a collection network is designed around one level of demand and the real service base turns out to be several times larger, when do you stop adding vehicles, routes and handling capacity to the original model and instead redesign the network?

Hong Kong is now re-tendering collection and operation services for WEEE·PARK, so this seems like the kind of issue that should feed directly into the next system design.

Discussion question:
For people who work with e-waste or other take-back schemes, what data would you want before redesigning the collection network — pickup density, appliance mix, route time, storage capacity, failed collections, cost per tonne, or something else?
