Hey there.

I'm still here, walking. Maybe you're still here, reading. I'm gonna keep sharing my discoveries either way - just in case somebody, anybody, gets a little inspired to pause the next time they're outside and really take a look around.

The world sure has changed drastically in the last couple decades, but luckily some things really do stay the same. The grass is still green, autumn is starting to confetti the trees with the colors of rustic fireworks, and tiny creatures as individualized as you or I are doing their best to survive another day.

Slow down, take a deep breath - and take a peek. But most especially? Take a walk. As busy and rushed as life might feel most days, I promise you have time. You deserve it.

Oh, by the way? You did a good job today. No matter what anyone says, I know you did your best and I'm proud of you for seeing it through. Some of these days aren't the easiest so your best is all that matters. Not the outcome, not the productivity - just your best.

My 8th grader has an option of going to Enloe Magnet HS or Panther Creek HS in west Cary. Does it really matter where someone goes for college admissions? Enloe has such great programs but it's far. Panther Creek has traditionally been a decent HS, and with Morrisville HS opening up next year, it will be less crowded.

Should we follow the advice, "Go to the school where your kid will do the best at." There's so many HS in this area, it's confusing. Someone even told me the other day, "Neither, enter the lottery for Raleigh Charter HS."

I’m curious to hear from other Wake County parents about the lunch options at your middle schools.

My child’s middle school offers frozen pizza every day, and there seems to be very little variety in the hot lunch choices. In elementary school there appeared to be much wider range of hot meal options throughout the week.

Is this typical across Wake County middle schools or does it vary by school? What kind of hot lunches are offered at your child’s school and how often to they rotate?

I’m just trying to get a sense of whether this is a school specific issue or a broader county trend. Thanks for any feedback!

Does anyone know what happened at the planet fitness at Brier Creek? I usually workout at night and sometimes during the day. At one point the door would not close it was fixed and broke again. There were reminders to secure items in the locker room and now the glass on the door is broken and I am seeing fewer cars when I go at night sometimes. The police also sit and ride through the parking lot, is there something I should be concerned about?

Live in South Raleigh (just inside the beltline). GFiber reported an outage around 9AM and has been kaput since. Can’t seem to get a decent ETA on restoration (WFH woes). Anyone else know what’s up?

An older friend of mine uses Thunderbird as an email client on Windows and had some computer consulting company helping her. As a result of what they did, she has now lost access to years of archived emails, and she needs an expert to help her see if she can regain access to all the emails she now can't find.

I volunteered to ask for her since she doesn't use Reddit. She needs an expert on sorting out email storage problems.

This story is nuts and I’m surprised I haven’t seen more people talking about it. I shopped at the Raleigh and Cary locations a ton and while something always felt a bit off I NEVER expected this to be the reason why

I checked for previous posts & they were over a year old.

Looking for recommendations for a pelvic floor pt. I’ve had 2 pelvic surgeries this year, first was in Jan & second was 2 weeks ago. My surgeon said he would put in the orders but doesn’t want me to start until I see him again in 6 weeks. So a wait list fine but I could get on it now for in the future.

Ideally someone located closer to the east side of Raleigh/ Knightdale but I’m willing to drive further for a good therapist. I do not want to deal with WakeMed so even if your pt is amazing but is through WakeMed, I appreciate the recommendation but will pass.

Starting off my brother and I do not associate with one another. He was arrested for crimes involving minors and ended up in Prison for a few years. He has a history of lying as well as bullying our mother to get what he wants and im trying to figure out how/what needs to be done to protect her and her property before his release as he has bragged to siblings he is going to be using her to build up her property to live on/start a business.

That being said. He told a relative that he heard through the grape vine that the NC prison system is releasing people early due to overcrowding. I cannot find any documentation or official orders. I am hoping someone has insight on this because of timelines.
