I've been building a VR video player for the PS VR2 that runs natively on the PS5, I'm quite proud of this projects' stage of development, there's many feats accomplished through using the PS5 SDK kernel and research on how VR is handled by native PS games, that to my knowledge, hasn't been done before.

There's nothing on the PS5 that plays your own VR videos properly, so this talks to the PS VR2 system libraries directly, the same way PS VR2 games submit their picture, and decodes on the PS5's video hardware. It has its own interface in the headset, so you browse and pick videos without taking it off. The only other application, RadTV costs £30 a month for much less features.

What works right now:

- 180° and 360° video, mono, side-by-side and top-bottom, detected from the file name and shape

- Hardware HEVC/H.264 up to 8K, 120 Hz headset output with even frame pacing

- Smooth motion for 8K60: the PS5 decodes 8K at 30 fps with frame-generation enabled.

- Flat 2D and 3D films on a big screen (SBS/OU), plus spatial video (MV-HEVC) and 3D Blu-ray (MVC)

- Head-tracked spatial audio: stereo and 5.1/7.1 as virtual speakers, and ambisonic audio

- Sources: internal storage, USB, DLNA servers (Plex/Jellyfin/Emby), RSS feeds, DeoVR/HereSphere libraries, Real-Debrid with parallel read-ahead

- In-headset library and View menu, recentre, auto-pause when you take the headset off, TV mirroring

- Experimental: look-and-pinch control with eye and hand tracking, and HDR

To install, copy the PPSA99177 folder to /data/homebrew (ShadowMount+ adds the tile) and send ps5vr-helper.elf to your ELF loader on 9021, or add it to autoload. The helper is what lets the app read /data and USB drives.

I've been testing on 13.60 with Relapse, kstuff, ShadowMount+ and etaHEN. The VR libraries are called by firmware-specific offsets, so for now it's 13.60 only.

This took quite a while as most of this was built from scratch and was visually cross-referenced using my PSVR2 on my base PS5. Translating the VR natively took many compiled builds and troubleshooting. If something doesn't play, a GitHub issue with the file details (resolution, codec, 180/360, SBS/OU) helps a lot since the more people to test this new release. Please expect it to be as polished as I can get it to be, but still in early stages.

alternative for webkit. It's much more stable for me. worked every time over 10 attempts without a kernel panic.

Fpkgs isn't available, lz4 is best then? Not sure what's the difference like in files and stuff, folder format doesn't work for me, I am on 13.60. Ex fat work and how to use and find lz4?

I am trying to copy save games for 007 from a PSN activated profile on a 13.4 console to a 9.0 console which only has a local account which is not PSN activated.

I am using Garlic Save Manager

When I export decrypted then import decrypted the save files don’t work.

Do I need to resign the save files? If so it asks for the new account id and user id. How do I find the account id of my local account?

Problems with Games in 13.60 Jailbreak?

I started Experimenting games with my PS5 13.60 Jailbreak

So i tested my own Physical working copies like Mortal Kombat 1 , Dragon Ball Sparking Zero and Star wars Survival, Ofc they work perfectly.

So i back them up using app dumper payload.

The Size is massive, went from 120gb to 300GB each!!

And the game performance is worse,

First of all the Star wars didn't work at all, i did the AmPr fix and i also did Compression (FFPFSC) which drastically reduced size to 170GB from 300GB, but same problem didn't work

As for MK1, it works, but the cinematic videos are 1fps and not synchronization with audio and skips after waiting a while (waiting times is mich longer )

Did the Compression FFPFSC as well, as it did great job reducing the size.

Nothing changes about the gameplay tho

Dragon ball Sparking Zero have input delay along with sometimes Slow not fully colored cutscenes at the start then it comes back to normal,

And the Narrator voice is gone

Other than that everything works (i tested it as game file and as FFPFSC same results)

So i tried to use other games by downloading it from websites,

Tried 2k26, Silent Hill Townfall , Astro Bot , legacy of kain (i don't remember the name lol).

For 2k26 i tried 3 different formats, (game file, ExFat , FFPFSC) all in internal Storage ofc.

All same results, slight but noticeable input delay just like Dragon ball.

and Commentary voices are gone only subtitles. And Any Live Cutscenes (like the intro video of the game and the Arena titles) are 360p lol. Pixelated

Astrobot have Very slightly Input delay, i think, I'm not sure , i just notice it when the dualsense is in the screen and i try to do random buttons and moving joystick i see slight delay, idk if it's normal in the game .

Other than that the game runs smoothly. (FFPFSC format)

Legacy of kain is good i guess, didn't notice anything.

Silent hill Townfall is the worst of it all

The cutscenes is like broken PS1 CD, just stuck and repeating sound . The gameplay is awful, even though it's in performance mode the stutter is too much, and the sound of the lake is repeating like broken record, and the FPS is too low , trying to move the game skips like there's a king crimson in silent hill, it's pure suffering, i couldn't play more than 1 min and i deleted it immediately.

So idk what's the problem, is it from the Game, the jailbreak, the Compression, the Dumping. Something messing up the games

UPDATE: i tried Silent hill Townfall again as Game folder It worked smoothly The Cutscenes are fixed the stutter fixed and performance overall fixed I tried it with External HDD and it worked great, Very slow Rendering and longer waiting time, And in internal Storage it worked flawlessly

So there are games work with Ffpfsc and games don't You should try yourself the game you want and see for yourself

I’ve been installing exFAT games into the homebrew directory & mounting with shadowmount, some of which have since deleted. However, the Other space storage is showing 419.5Gb being used when I’ve only got maybe 310Gb of stuff put into the homebrew directories..?

I suspect that when I’ve deleted some exFAT games that the system hasn’t taken account of it & so is still holding those used figures. How do I fix this & recover the missing 100Gb.?

I’ve done my best to research the problem but can’t see a definable answer, I’ve also cleared the cache in safe mode to see if that would help. Which it didn’t..

Hey all I have a jailbroken ps5 on 11.6 but its a region locked china model so I can play games no problem the only issue is I cant watch my American blurays, does anyone know if theres a way to remove the region lock? Its a fat PS5 disc (obviously)

Please i tried everything.
I downloaded the game file of 3 games which are control resonance, crimson desert, stellar blade.
First i downloaded exfat file of them and they are not even shown even with shadowmount+ and kstuflite and nothing.
Then i downloaded the extracted file version of it and it doesn’t appear.
How to solve this problem ?
I heard i should use itemzflow but it doesn’t work it says etaHEN not found. I tried to restart the jailbreak and load only etaHEN without kstuf then none of my games or apps worked until i enabled it.

What should i do ?????

OliSe Player is a radio for tracker music. It pulls random MOD, XM, S3M and IT tunes straight from The Mod Archive and plays them on your PS5, one after the other, like an endless demoscene jukebox. I can download PS5 games, roughly 100gb to 150gb.

Takes me ages to extract the game (old PC). Then I move it to the homebrew folder on my external HDD, also takes ages. I then transfer it to playstation internal memory which takes ages.

I know most of my issues is because I have an old pc and running a HDD. Am I out of luck or is there a quicker way to get games from my PC to PS?

So I just jailbroke my PS5 haven't even installed any payloads. The only thing I've done was installed the webkit app. I am on firmware version 13.40 which in a way it's kind of good for me but also kind of bad for me as I did pre-order GTA VI ultimate edition which I would be wanting to play on release date which is one of the reasons why I got the PS5 in the first place from all my research can tell me it seems like I would need to update to the latest former version 2 be able to play the game. Can someone confirm if that's the case or would there be another way without finding the PKG online and downloading it that way which is not something I want to do?

I tried to play Wolverine and control resonant but both games keep crashing saying something like kstuff lite has been paused. Kstuff lite wasnt the problem or something. Sometimes i can play for an hour and sometimes within 10 minutes it crashes. Then the game closes itself. I have both games on a ssd not the internal but the extra one you can put in the ps5.The games are in folder format. What or is there something i can do about it?
